Informal DIS meet for F&W and Half-marathon

A weekday would be fine with us. Maybe we could set up multiple F&W meets :confused3

Count me in Oct. 12 - 20 but probably arriving around Oct. 10th (Columbus Day weekend). Have DVC all booked :)

I was thinking that we should name this adventure Taste Around The World or "TATW". We'll be tasting food, beer and wine as we travel around World Showcase.

Just been playing around with my calendar and trying to stretch my vacation time - its looking like Val & I will be doing F&W over the Columbus Day weekend again. Maybe we'll come in on the Thursday 10/7 and leave on Monday (a holiday for us). That way I'll only use a couple of days of vacation, but it will put most of the trip during the busier weekend days.

I'm there as well! How fun to squeeze in a DIS meet too. I'll be there for the Wine & Dine half. Arriving either 9/30 or 10/1 and departing either 10/4 or 10/5.

There will be a few of us probably in the Ditch (aka La Cava de Tequila) on October 9th, a few hours before Party for the Senses.

DH & I will be there Fri Oct 15th thru Sun 17th this year. Since they fall at the end of another timeshare week we have in Florida, unfortunately we can't be flexible on those dates.

Hate to miss seeing/meeting you guys...:sad1:

Thanks to everybody that have posted thus far. I'm thinking that I'll try to set up some dates once I get back from WDW later this week.

It looks like we won't be able to pick dates that will work for everybody (unless we decide to stay for the whole month of October), but I'm thinking that early in the month is going to work out best from a slight majority of the posts I've read thus far.

Another local or townie whatever I am called now. I am in just let me know when and where we will be there. :lmao: I am a dork.

Hmmmm, the Ditch and then Party for the Senses.....what fun!

Yes!!! DH and I have never been able to attend the previous DATW, so we would love this. However, I think I'll leave my phone in my room. :rotfl:

I haven't booked a room yet, but I've signed up for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon, so I'm looking at Sept 30th to October 5th. Count me in.:3dglasses

We'll be there September 25 - Oct 9. Sounds like even if we miss the meet dates, there will be plenty of opportunities to run into many Disers!

I am not brave enough to do the half marathon, but I will truck my way through the 5k:)

Taking in all the comments, and also considering the fact that there is a half-marathon that might attract a couple of our favorite DIS runners, its looking likely that we'll schedule this for the first weekend in October. I'm guessing right now that Val & I would fly in on 10/1 and leave on 10/5. Got to get going on DVC reservations and (of course) checking with work.

Again, this is nothing organized so everybody should be free to do what ever they want whenever they want. Val & I plan on being somewhere to root for our DIS runners during that event, but that's the extent of plans right now. Oh yea, there will be a lot of TATW!

Wahoo, I'm very excited at the chance to meet some Dissers. I'll be walking the 1/2, so I'll be there the first weekend.

I should be there that weekend also, I try to go for my birthday every year (10/5) so that should work out perfectly. I will do much better at eating my way around the world than drinking around the world.

Great! Can you tell me what time the 1/2 starts and when most of the participants finish? Also, where is the start/finish? Just for planning purposes.

I'm pretty close to committing to the Food & Wine. I am just waiting for the Southwest fares to be announced. I would probably make it a pretty short trip (like 1 or 2 days) because I am coming down again in January for the marathon.

I'm keeping my eyes open here and on the WISH boards for any meets.
