My girlfriend is leaving for Vero this Saturday. Was thinking of getting her a massage as a surprise.

Anyone know how expensive it was, and did they like it?

They give them outside, by the pool, near Ebb & Flo's. They are great, adding to the relaxation that surrounds you at VB.

I don't have the rates handy but trust me the massages are not for free. Disney doesn't give ANYTHING for free... see fresh towels, coffee refills, laundry soap, etc.. Even the mini-golf at VB has a nominal fee. I'm thinking $50.

My DH had a massage in October.

It was $55 per hour (a bargain, IMO)

Sign up at Eb and Flo's. You can sign up to have a male or female massage therapist.

DH was able to choose the type of massage when he arrived for his appt.-deep tissue, swedish, etc.

He enjoyed it!

You can call the resort at 772-234-2000. Ask for Eb and Flo's-you may be able to arrange a time and pay for it as a surprise.

(I think sometimes they offer the chair massages out by Eb and Flo's as an activity-maybe this is what the other poster is talking about when they mention free massages)

I would say, what goldilocks_63 meant was her friend, that happens to be a girl. not her girlfriend as in boyfriend and girl friend. i had the pleasure speaking to goldilocks_63 on the phone and she is a woman. just my two cents.

as far as the massages, i dont know, i havent been to vero beach yet, will be there in 2 weeks and that will be to late for an answer, sorry

$55 per hour is right... That is an awesome rate.. (At home, its normally $25 for 20 minutes)

I would highly recommend getting a massage at VB... My DW and I try and get one every year when we are at VB...

The only thing you might want to check on is whether maintence is done refurbing the massage room, locker room, and sauna area. When we were down there in December that section was closed... (You could still get massages by special appointment though..)

but wdwstar is correct, I'm a Mom, and I wanted to do this for my friend, who is a also a very tired Mom.

At any rate, I spoke with Eb and Flos, and they are checking to see if I can prepay it, and give it as a surprise upon check-in.

ALso, asked about any DVC discount - LOL.

Do I prepay a tip too???

and maybe tentatively schedule a time, since they are only there for 4 days, and if she want to switch they can???

Unfortunately, they do not offer a DVC discount but the price is so good DH didn't mind. I think he paid $75 for a 50 minute massage at VWL the day before he had the one at Vero. We did get a DVC discount on that.

They were so nice!!!

I think friend will really like it.

FYI - $55 + $10 Tip for a total of $65 for one hour relaxing message.

They said they'd make up a cute little card to give her upon check-in, or later that evening.

i was just telling dh about the massages for $55 for an hour, he wanted to know if two people can split the hour,

did they have a price for 1/2 , when im on vacation i cant relax, i always have to be on the move, so a 1/2 would work out better with a great fuffy drink.

i still have the 2 ressies for july 4 and no renter, im trying to get a room now using the points for homecoming, no luck either.

what a great friend your are for giving your friend a great surprise! let us know how it all worked out.

The relaxation sounded perfect for what I wanted.

I'm sorry about your points. If I can somehow get away in the next few weeks, I'll give you a call.

I have enough FF points to go, but can't get the time off of work, and am scared to push it, because hubby is being laid off later this month.

Oh well, hopefully things will work out.

I would still consider pleading with MS wdwinfo, and I think they would help. You don't deserve what happened.

BTW, we were at VB in early Feb and all the rehab in the sauna/massage/change rooms etc. area was complete
