Info on DTD Marriott Courtyard

We'll be staying there Jan. 18-25 ($59/night rate) and I have a few questions that I just know somebody here can help with

1. Are they still doing the Manager's Reception? If so, what are the hours?

2. How is the restaurant at the hotel? Price and food quality?

3. Are the pools heated?

4. How was the bus service to the parks?

5. How was the quality of the rooms?

SO sorry i can't help you!! Haven't stayed there yet! But i am looking for a good rate there. the cheapest i have found is $89 for jan. 5-11th. Can i ask where you got your rate of $59?

I booked the room through Qixo.com and got a promotional rate. You had to book by Dec. 8, I think. It was called the "Lets Go No Snow" promo. I was very happy with that rate. You should probably keep checking...maybe you'll get lucky before you go and find a promotional rate. I wish they would bring back the $20.02 rate!

We went in August last year with the 2002 discount. The rooms were very good as well as the staff. I think one of the pools is heated or at least was then. They did have the happy hour in the lobby daily. The restaurant we went to just for breakfast. The food and service was very good. We had a very pleasant stay. In fact, if we could have changed our plane flight we would have stayed another three or so days.

You are going to love it there. The staff is friendly and not intrusive! We were there Dec3-7 (quick trip) We were in room 1013 and it was really nice. The room was nicely appointed. Two double beds, sink out side bathroom (came in real handy) The room was clean, but could have used a little updating (circuit breaker used for lamps on table) We also had a balcony facing downtown and were able to see all the fireworks. The managers reception was a really nice break from the hectic schedule we were trying to keep! Wine, soda and munchies (popcorn and nachos) It was also nice to be able to get coffee and tea (free) all day long (by the bar). The pools were heated and well taken care of. The whirlpool was off to the lefthand side, a little secluded and heated to about 104 degrees. We used the bus service only 1 time. The bus was clean and prompt. The only thing that bother me was that the pick up and drop off was in the middle of the parking lot (slot 26) It rained a lot while we were there and standing in the open lot did not appeal to me. The restaurant was fine with us. Breakfast was a buffet with a large selection of foods and only cost $8.95! Cheap by Disney standards! We had dinner there also and it was fine, no biggie.

We were here for the week of Christmas and had an overall enjoyable stay. The room was ok, housekeeping and staff were fantastic. We also took advantage of the managers reception which was a nice way to start the evening. We were lucky enough to have taken advantage of some very low rates. 4 nights with tax cost us $217. The pools are heated and clean. The restaurant was satisfactory. We ate dinner there once, it was priced about what you would expect for being within the boundaries of WDW. The Breakfast Buffet was the best deal with adequate selection.
The bus service was a definite plus. This was our first trip that we did not have a rental car... and our last. However, the bus schedule was accomodating and the busses are very comfortable. Much better than the WDW busses. A lot more seats, less standing and the seats are not hard plastic, they are padded cloth that are so comfortable at the end of the day. The bus stop was located outside the restaurant area under an overhang with plenty of room to wait without being exposed to rain. The Marriott is one of the very first hotels the busses stop at so we would always get a seat in one of the first few rows and we were one of the first few stops to drop off so you were home faster than some of the other hotels.
One of the best features of this hotel is that you are only a few minutes walk to Downtown Disney.
Overall I would reccomend a stay here. They told us the rooms were in the process of being refurbished. This will definitely be a hotel with great potential.

You all have made my mind rest a little easier! I've heard pretty much the same thing from everyone I've asked - the rooms are "fine" but the service is great. We aren't in our room all that much, so I am more concerned about the service. And the convenience to DTD is of great importance to us since we wind up at DTD at some point pretty much every day.

We leave on the 16th and I can't wait! Thanks again to everyone - the people on the board are AWESOME

We tried the Marriott Courtyard in downtown disney around christmas and were shocked by the poor condition of the hotel and rooms, it is the worst Marriott Courtyard we have ever encountered, and we stay in them regularly. I don't want to cause you concern, but I wish we would have had better warning. It was extremely dissappointing.

Desperado, sorry about your stay at DTD Courtyard. It's really no fun when you uncomfortable. I'm not too worried, though...I've gotten lots more good feedback than bad. Thanks for the feedback, though. It's good to hear all opinions.
