Info on Category 2 on the Magic?

My family is booked in one of the Category 2 staterooms on the Magic. I've cruised twice before but never in one of the suites. Could someone tell me about the concierge service and all the little perks you receive? Also, does anyone have any pictures of a category 2 suite besides what's on castawayclub.com? I'm grateful for any info you have on this category suite. Thanks!

We were in a Cat 3 last March and we'll be in a Cat 1 for our cruise in April. First of all, you will have a separate check-in line for concierge, it is at the far end near the Mouse Ears and I believe next to the castaway club lines. When you check in you receive a paper that will tell you where to go and meet the concierge team. For us it was in Sessions. You will be allowed to pre-board along with the handicap. We made Palo reservations before we got on the ship over the phone with our concierge contact. When you meet with the concierge team you will be able to make all your reservations for the week: spa, Palo(if you have not already do so), hair braiding, Tea with Wendy, and sign your kids up for the clubs(if you need to). Every evening we received a visit from the concierge team with reminders of what we had scheduled for the next day, and a special treat. During the week the kids received free cards for the arcade and a coloring book with crayons. Also, we found that if we needed something signed or a had a special request all we had to do was call the concierge team.

Many people here will tell you they take the suites for the extra room, which is also true for us, but we really enjoyed the concierge service and have decided we will never cruise without it.

Here is our previous Cat. 2 experience. We're booked for a Cat. 2 this June and can't wait.

We had the Cat. 2 for our 5/18 7-day Eastern in May 2002. As far as amenities, you do get priority boarding, your concierge team (our team was Christine and Thierry) will make any reservations you desire: Palo, spa, etc. We found out from our prior cruise that Concierge only receives a select number of reservations. They may not have the date and/or time you desire. We found it easier to book our own reservations. There is a "meet and greet" with your concierge team during the first afternoon. We did not attend because, as I mentioned, we made our own reservations. When Christina called us later in the afternoon she actually sounded disappointed that we didn't have them do it. You are invited to a "concierge only" Sail-away party when you leave St. Thomas with complimentary drinks and appetizers. We received complimentary sodas and bottled water -- I didn't need to purchase those refillable mugs after all! You receive a different treat each day: the famous cheese and crackers, chocolate chip cookies, strawberries dipped in chocolate and petit fours, fruit tray, etc. You are able to order room service from any of the four restaurants and are able to order full breakfast with the exception of the last day. Regular staterooms may only order Continental Breakfasts. We also got a few of sheets of personalized stationery. Our 3 boys each received arcade cards ($10 each) two times during the cruise. Our oldest ds had access to many in Common Ground so he gave a couple to his cousin. There is a video player and you are given a list of CDs and videos that are available to watch if you choose. Concierge team will stop by daily to inquire whether you need or want anything. You get daily phone messages as well. We received a booked entitled "DISNEY MAGIC - The Launching of a Dream." Great book!! I can't think of anything else at the moment. The Cat. 2 suite itself is reason enough to book. Concierge is just an added treat. HTH
