info on 2005 AAA rates

I had conflicting information this morning - our BCAA told us a rate they quoted us on Animal Kingdom for next May was the discounted room only rate - no way it could be given it is the exact same rate I have direct from Disney, with no AAA discount applied. Called WDW this afternoon and was told AAA packages for 2005 are out, and room only rates won't come out until they 'drop'?? She said to call back in a few weeks...

They told me AAA packages were NOT out. I've been calling once or twice a week for the past six weeks to try and get a AAA rate for March 2005. For the past six weeks, they have been telling me that AAA rates will be out in two weeks. I really think they are told to give some type of answer, even if it is not accurate.

Sorry to tell you this Jonnyr, but I have already booked my AAA 2005 package for April 2005. I belong to Chicago AAA and their packages have been out a week now. Not the room only discounts, just the packages. Maybe my area of the country gets the packages sooner. I would tell your AAA to call Chicago.

Laz - I am trying to book direct with CRO/WDTC and not through my AAA office. I always book direct to WDW. It may be possible NJ AAA has packages also. That could be where the confusion is.

I belong to NEPA (north east pa) AAA...and I have NEVER got a low price quote from them on Disney trips. Everytime I go to price my Trip...they ALWAYS come in at the Highest price....ALWAYS! Sometimes 20% more.

I once even told the AAA agent that the price was 20% more then DISNEy.com.....she was quite nasty and told me then to book my trip thru them.....Ouch!

I know exactly where you're coming from DISUNC. I live in Northwest Ohio and it's the same way at our AAA offices. We don't book with them anymore. We call CRO direct and have the AAA discount applied. When I read on the Dis Board that another poster's AAA travel agent actually watched for cheaper rates for her my DH called ours and was told they absolutely do not do this sort of thing and to book elsewhere if we weren't happy with their service. So that's exactly what we did. When I think of all the money we wasted before I found the Dis I could cry.

I have been a AAA member for over 30 years. If you do not get the best value for what you want, by all means go some where else. My AAA agent will constantly re price my package so I am getting the best rate available. If I find a better rate, they will match it. I have been a AAA member in Norheast ohio, Northwest Ohio, the Cincinnati Area, and now I am under Chicago. Good luck in your trip Planning
