One of the things I've liked about Delta and/or Song is that they always had a redeye flight into Orlando, so I could hit the ground and have a full day ahead of me. Then, they had a non-stop in the late afternoon / early evening so I had most of a day at the end of my trip.

For my January trip, the LAX-MCO redeye was gone - it was available on just a few days of the week. So I have a redeye to Atlanta, with a connection.

Last week, the non-stop was reinstated to the schedule - so if you've been watching fares and schedules between LA and Orlando, you might want to re-check your options.

I called to see if I could switch my itinerary, hoping they might be able to waive the $100 fee because it was a change in their own schedule. No such luck, though. I still have a chance to do a same-day change for only $25, but that will depend on seating availability.

Just a note for you Song/Delta fans - keep your eye on the ever-changing schedules.

Oh no! This is exactly why I booked with Song. I wanted a red eye flight from LAX to MCO! I'll have to keep checking. If they don't have a red eye, I'm assuming they'll refund my money. Is that true?

Have you already booked your flight, with a redeye?

They're much more likely to add a flight that has already been part of their schedule than they are to cancel a flight that people are already booked on.

In my case, they just went from offering the redeye only on certain days to restoring it to "every day" status.

If you're already booked on flight 2062 and then it's cancelled, most likely they'll rebook you on the connecting redeye through Atlanta. I don't think you can get a complete refund except in highly unusual circumstances. But at the moment, it looks like they're expanding their service between Los Angeles and Orlando, not cutting back.

Another Song oddity - the MCO-LAX non-stop in the evening is flight 2062. That plane turns around and flies back to MCO an hour later. That flight is *also* 2062. So I guess one could say that 2062 is a direct flight from MCO to MCO with a stopover at LAX.

Thans Cigar95. We're already booked on flight 2065. A connecting flight would be a problem, since one of my DS is autistic and the traveling takes it's toll on him. That's why we always to non-stop and red eye, so he sleeps on the way there. Hopefully they don't cancel.
Thanks for the information.:D

I used the redeye to fly to MCO from LAx at it was great. Just plan on taking a nap when you get in the room. You will feel the time difference at about 2:00 pm lol.

I usually am able to sleep about two hours on the plane. When I get to Orlando, I'm so jazzed, I can usually make it through the day on the adrenaline rush.

One thing that I really love about arriving early in the morning, depending on the time of year. Driving out of the airport, just as the sun is coming up, on that road down to the Greeneway everything is very quiet. The mist is hanging over the ponds off the side of the road. I just love the peacefullness of it all. And the drive along the Greeneway, with no one around, . . . . it's just very enjoyable.
