Inflatable Yard Art - Yes or No?

Inflatable Art - Yes or No?

  • I think they're festive and put them out myself!

  • They are okay for others but not my style

  • Eh, no. I would rather something more elegant

  • I'm still not sure... that snowglobe really IS sorta cute!

I like the smaller ones - we have the Halloween Pirate Mickey and a santa for Christmas. They are both only about 4 feet tall. Those humungous ones are crazy!!

I think they are festive! I dont have any on our lawn but I enjoy seeing them on others lawns.

I love them too. I think they are hilarious and not tacky at all. My boyfriend's parents have a Homer Simpson dressed up as Santa one out at Christmas. :goodvibes

We have a house near us that - until I saw that pic - I thought had one of everything...but they clearly don't - also the one in our neighborhhod has them laid out very nicely, spread around the entire yard - they are on a corner and you can clearly see every side of their house - they do the house decorations very tastefully - and they have probably 6-8 Christmas trees visible in various windows through their house - I know it sounds like alot - but it very well done and tasteful. Now another neighbor thinks this is heinous and wants to know "when was the last time you saw a manger scene?" - well, actually there are plenty all around us...this neighbor thinks the first is just showing off in a negative way. All I know is the kids LOVE them ..and that to me is what it is all about - and I choose to believe the first neighbor feels the same way and is just trying to make people happy. He must be doing something right because every year there is plenty of traffic!

I would love to have the Red Baron and that awesome huge snowglobe from Loews - I keep dreaming.....

I don't like them, I think they look tacky. Especially when 3 people on the same street have the same exact one!

That snowglobe one is cute, but it probably won't be after I've seen a hundred of them in our neighborhood.

OMG! :earseek:

It's like Attack of the Killer Inflatables!

I think they're cute when they're fully inflated and standing upright, but I'm too cheap and lazy to buy one. :teeth:

I don't like them. I especially don't like the way people generally have timers set to turn off the blowing mechanism at night and then have them lying lifeless on their lawns each morning. Last year I woke up every morning to see Santa lying limp on the neighbor's lawn every day. I was glad that Jacob wasn't old enough to ask what happened to poor old Santa.

I think they are cute in small numbers, but I don't like it when there are tons of the same one everywhere. Not my style but I don't hate them. I'm more of a mum's and pumpkins for fall person. Usually live greenery outside for Christmas. I keep it fairly simple.

Here's mine. with my DB and adorable niece.
