Hi there,

I will be taking a Disney vacation with my DW and DD (15 mo. old) in march. Any recommendations on infant friendly restaurants or, for that matter, suggestions for Disney with an infant in general? Thanks!!!

Hi and :welcome: to the DIS!

You're at WDW, so all restaurants will be infant-friendly.

For more suggestions try over on the "Disney for Families" board.

It really does depend on your kid....but as the above post mentioned: all Disney locations (regardless of cost) are kid friendly more or less...

I would say avoid the "signature" dining locations (with the possible exception of Brown Derby)...because there does tend to be a little more of a quiet/ adult ambience to those locations at dinner times...so that might be a little out of the realm of kid-friendly (but there are always some kids there)

We took our son when he was 3 monts, 10 months, 14 months and 16 months...and we had no problems with him really anywhere we went (and we are regular attendees to ALL WDW restaurants)...so take that as an indication of how easy it can be. Going in 2 weeks with our just over 2 year old and our 5 month old....oh joy:headache:

I would suggest you "take it easy" on the character meals (if you're into that) at first...aka don't schedule 4 or them....some kids at young ages are TERRIFIED of the fuzzy animal costumes. Try one...if you choose to do that...then go from there

We have taken our infants everywhere. I too agree though to stay away from the signature dinners. Those tend to be more of "quiet atmosphere" kind of places. Also, my dd is TERRIFIED of character meals. We have to tell the CM's that at the beginning of each meal so that we don't have a melt down every 5 minutes..lol.

Our DD was about 16mo on our Dec trip, and our experiences with restaurants was a little surprising. We do the deluxe plan so we did a LOT of Disney dining, and the places we had the most trouble were the ones I was least concernd about - Yak & Yeti, Kona - because the loud atmosphere in those places (that I thought would mask normal baby noises) disturbed DD. She did the best at the places I was most worried about taking her - Jiko, California Grill, Narcoosees - and seemed to take a "relax" cue from the quieter atmosphere.

Character meals were also way better than characters in the parks; she would get a little nervous about walking/being carried up to non-face characters, but when she was safely in her high chair and entertained with her food, she liked having them come to visit her.

That is such a fun age to do Disney, IMO! The excitement and reactions of a little one to the smallest things are just priceless. I thought our DD's eyes were going to pop clean out of her head when she first saw the balloon vendor on Main Street at MK, and every morning for the entire trip she was so happy to see the Mickey balloon on her stroller. And she developed the funniest ways of asking for things - "baby sing-sing" means Small World, Pluto is "dog-dog", Mickey is "me-mouse". The whole trip was just so magical because of her wonder at it all!
