Infant at WDW

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for traveling with an infant? My son will be almost 7 months when we go. TIA!!

The first time we took our son he was 8 months old. If you are driving, we just tried to keep him dry and fed so he would sleep. Also, one of use rode the back with him if he was awake to entertain him.

For the parks, get a nice backpack. We kept wipes, extra dipers, bottles, and formula in it. We also had some toys in there as well. We also brought our on stroller. We finally bought a nice umbrella stroller that folded up small, which made it great for getting on and off the bus.

Thanks for the tips we are going to be flying from Michigan and will be going to Disney at the end of our trip but I just wanted to make sure that I bring enough so that he is comfortable while we are in the park

When I brought DD @ 6 months I brought the same things I would bring on any other day trip, a nursing cover, a stroller, etc. Having the baby at Disney world was SO much easier than I thought it would be. Have fun

Hi fellow Michigander! We flew with our baby too, and WDW is the easiest place to bring a baby! Use the baby care centers! They are great! Each park has one and we made good use of them. They had baby food, formula, diapers, clothes to purchase. We bought some cute socks there and some bibs we hadn't seen elsewhere. If you're nursing, it was a very nice place to do this.
We also brought a very comfy (but not huge) stroller with a rain cver and actually used the rain cover a couple times. But then we are poncho people too, and bring those with us. We have very active older kids and decided to just keep going, letting baby sleep wherever we were. Yes, it meant someone sitting out from doing activities but we didn't mind. DH and I used this time to just talk and relax and it was actually very romantic! I know it sounds crazy, but it was a great time together. I know it depends somewhat on baby's temperament, but we decided, we were gonna just take her along and not sit in the hotel room. Have fun!

I want to second, third, and fourth the baby care centers - they are beyond fabulous. And I would also suggest a REALLY good carrier for your child. As you go to and from the rides, it is way easier to have them in the carrier than the stroller - especially when the rides are all right next to each other. And several of the rides lines are impossible to migrate a stroller through. So you either have a carrier or you hold them in your arms the entire time An Ergo carrier would be my top choice for you - and it can be worn in the front or as a back pack. They even sell one that has sport material for better breathing.

Hey there, we took our daughter for the first time when she was 6 months. It was a lot easier than I expected. In addition to what was said above, I would take another set of clothing to the park, and also purchase an attachable shade for the stroller. There were several times when she would fall asleep and it seemed like we couldn't get out of the sun. That shade was one of the best items I took with us. Have fun!

Take advantage of pre-boarding so you can install your car seat while everyone else is boarding the plane. Also, try to change the baby right before you board because there's no good place to change a baby on a plane. Sometimes, they will let you use the galley floor. Otherwise, bulkhead is inconvenient for "stuff" access, but at least you can use the floor there.

Use the baby swap so you can ride grown-up rides.

Take baby tylenol with you because it's expensive in the park!

I took my daughter when she was 7 weeks old. I suggest a mei tai baby carrier or some sort of carrier. It was very helpful. Also, I purchased a stroller fan and that was great too.

We've taken babies who were still breastfeeding and one who took formula. Breastfeeding is obviously easier. If you need to make formula, any restaurant will happily give you hot water--Very hot. Our baby wouldn't drink anything cold, cool, or even room temp. So we'd ask for hot water and a cup of ice to get it just the right temp. I was worried, but it was easier than I thought it would be. The resort also supplied bottled water for her formula when we asked.
