Let's face it, we all are trying to save money. I want to save some on breakfast and lunch so that we can enjoy a nice dinner. Does anyone have some tasty suggestions for lunch or dinner under $10? (Besides the usual hotdog/pizza/hamburger and fries.) Please let me know what the food was, about how much, and where to find it at. I appreciate all your help. Thank you.

Turkey legs! They are HUGE and great for sharing, and very tasty. I've gotten them in Liberty Square/Frontierland and in MGM (Toluca Leg Co. I think the place is called) but I think there is a vendor in every park.

what we used to do to save money si brind breakfast food with us, like cereal and granola bars, and we would get the refillable mugs for drinks. we are not big breakfast eaters so it was perfect for us!

At Flame Tree BBQ at AK, you can get a large sandwich, corn on the cob and baked beans for $5.99. I thought it was a great deal!

Earl of Sandwich at DTD has very good food at great prices.

I also suggest Flame Tree at AK. Their sandwhich, beans, and corn combo is fairly inexpensive. I have also found that while it's another hamburger if you go to Pecos Bill's in MK they ahvea great toppings bar which can really liven up a burger. Plus it's a good bang for a buck.

Are you on the DDP? It may be worth thinking about. It is $38 pp p/day(I think) this year, and you get 1cs with drink and dessert (no dessert at breakfast) 1 TS either an all you care to eat with drink or an ap entree and dessert and drink ( a few restaurants are 2 TS such as CRT, and Cali Grill) and even a snack coke, popcorn, ice cream bar etc... If you are bringing your breakfast, this could make the rest of your daily dining a treat! Just an idea to look into, if you like the idea and still have time to make ADRs for lunch or dinner :wave2:

Columbia Harbor House in MK is very good and it is reasonable. Most items are around $7. You could buy a grilled chicken salad and a sandwich and share. In fact, just a sandwich is big enough for 2. They have tuna sandwiches and also ham.

Beaches and Cream can be economical. We buy the double meat burger, have them split it and we share. They will bring 2 plates with fries on both.

In Epcot, the Shwarma platters at Tangeriene Cafe are large enough to share. They are more expensive, costing around $13, but if you share it cuts the cost.

Drinks add a lot to your bill, so water would be a cost savings.

SOG - Evergreens Sports Bar has a nice sandwich/salad/picky food menu with very decent prices. We've eaten there several times. Anyone can go there to eat. Prices are not bad for their buffets either at SOG - although I've never eaten there. Check out the menus at SOG on www.allearsnet.com

We also have breakfast in the room. We stopped and bought some cereal and fruit and got milk at the resort. It saves money and time as well. :thumbsup2

You could try splitting some meals. Typically the portions are too large and DH and I often split. At places like Beaches and Cream, you can enjoy a steak or chicken sandwich with a nice dessert for under $20 for 2 if you split. You will not go hungry! I also think that the food courts in the Riverside and FQ resorts have reasonable prices for meals. Also, we had breakfasts for under $10 each at Boatrights in Riverside. Some of the Epcot quick foods in WS are economical and interesting. You might try Yakatori in Japan or the fish and chips in England.

:wave2: You can get a baked potato at Liberty Square Market in MK for $3.49. That would be an inexpensive lunch.

Reasonable and very filling, but not under $10, but pretty close......
LTT at lunch

Maryland Crab Cake - pan-seared blue crab cake on fire-roasted corn succotash with bay tartar $7.49
New England Clam Chowder - $3.99
Add a beverage and you have a filling sitdown meal that will fill you up, but not over stuff you or drain your wallet. Happy planning! Maggie

When I travel with my mother, we can split most counter service meals. My husband gets a little hungier. The sandwiches at Cosmic Rays are big enough for us to split comfortably. I haven't had them, but Herbie's Drive in at MGM has steamed dumplings (Bao). I often get two from a stand near work at lunch - at Disney they are about $2 each, and I find two filling.

I'd suggest visiting the menus at AllEarsNet.

Another suggestion is to swing by a grocery store and get a few energy type bars (Clif bars, Luna bars). These are fairly nutrious (although can be a lot of carbs and sugar - Clif bars are made for people who are really active, but you are at Disney, even a couch potato will be relatively active at Disney), and are usually pretty filling. Use those to snack on and suppliment a split meal.

We've been breakfast in the room people for years, usually with breakfast bars. Breakfast is the one meal at Disney I find far too expensive - I cringe over a $3 muffin.

I'd check the menus over on allearsnet. One of the keys to eating a lot of counter service at Disney is to know where to find the places that interest you....there are plenty of burgers, the trick is knowing where to find what interests you.

For $10 and under you are talking counter service.
I'll second Columbia Harbour House at MK, esp the tuna sandwich!
At Tusker House in AK, you can get a large hunk of salmon with rice and vegetable for $8, an excellent deal.
In Epcot, Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion has recently been remodeled and has a lot of interesting variety. Also Tangierine Cafe (Morocco) has had a lot of good reviews.
In DTD, you can get TWO great sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich for $10! Large but not huge, and really yummy!
Several of the deluxe resorts have "food stand" places where you can grab a bite or a simple meal, including Mara at AKL, Captain Cooks at the Polynesian, Roaring Forks at WL, Beach Club Marketplace (guess where?), and Picabu (formerly Tubbi's) at the Dolphin.

Normally what my family does is bring breakfast items that we eat in room and eat CS for most of our meals and then do about 2-3 TS places that we want to go to..Last trip and this coming trip we have the dining plan for free..

I have two words for you...THE EARL!!!

The Earl of Sandwich in DTD is the best food and the best value anywhere on Disney property! Here is a pic of the All American and a Tuna Salad. My wife and I split it and it is more than enough. Under $10.00 including a beer!!

We're not big breakfast eaters, so we usually will either bring or stop by a market and pick up cereal, milk, Pop Tarts and Nutragrain bars for breakfast. This way as some of us are getting ready the rest can be eating breakfast and vice versa. We'll also pack some snack stuff, say 100 calorie packs of crackers and bring water to save on that in the parks.

For lunch, I'd recommend:

Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbor House
EPCOT: Sunshine Season or Fountainview Cafe
Animal Kingdom: Tusker House (Favorite place at AK)

Order water and add your favorite flavor of presweetened Kool-Aid/Crystal Light

Pizzafari has a good Italian sandwich and a good chicken salad

At Magic Kingdom, Cosmic Ray's has 1/2 a Rotisserie Chicken with mashed potatoes and some other vegetable. The combo is more of meal for multiple people.

1/2 Chicken and BBQ Rib Combination served with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable $13.99 --

BBQ Rib Meal - 1/2 rack served with mashed potatoes and a seasonal vegetable $8.99

1/2 Rotisserie Chicken - with Mashed Potatoes and a seasonal vegetable $7.99

Easy. Eat a quick snack, granolla bar etc. before you leave for the parks. Book the latest breakfast possible, most places (10:50) where ever you want to, (brunch) and skip lunch altogether.
