Inexpensive hotels...

Hi everyone

My boyfriend and I are going to DL in October and we still haven't booked our hotel yet... I was thinking of staying at America's Best Inn Anaheim but it has fairly mixed reviews...are there any inexpensive (around $100/night or cheaper) hotels you would recommend? I don't need a whole lot of amenities, but a continental breakfast, swimming pool, and hair dryer would be good. Please help me out if you can!

If you have AAA you can go and get a Southern California book that lists all the hotels for the area.

They have web special around $100.00. We stay there when we go down from San Francisco. It is right across from DL main entrance.

there are loads of hotels that are way better than the one your looking at imo...expecially in October you should have some good rates....heres a list of the hotels in and around DL check out their websites and see what the rates are for the days your going and pick a few and come back and ask us about them...also tripadvisor is really good about giving reviews regarding the hotels...are you driving in? if so check out the Hampton Inn and suites in Garden Grove...they give a full breakfast and rates are usually pretty good

I would drive in, but they don't rent out cars to anyone under 25...so, I will be walking or using a shuttle.

Im staying at Annaheims Best Inns in October cause through Travelocity they had a packaged deal for a week 2 people, flight and hotel for $465 per person, so I dont think I could beat that. I am not too keen on the idea of staying here as this hotel is great for budget travellers, but I figure not all the reviews are bad, and its just a place to shower & sleep. Im not going to be spending any great amount of time here, and the shuttle still comes right to my front door to drive me to and from the park.

We have stayed at the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites (in a parlor suite) twice and would recommend it for an inexpensive motel. This hotel is different than the Desert Palm.

I have also stayed at the HOJOs twice (slightly longer walk - but beautiful grounds), Best Western Park Inn, and the Park Inn International (it has a new name now). I would stay at any of them again.

HI on manchester is ok...I havent stayed at the plaza hotel and suites but theres been alot of mixed reviews...definitely not red roof inn...have you looked at fairfield inn? across from DL?

We stayed at Anaheim Plaza last week. Got 2 queens, micro and fridge for $56.00 on their website. Only drawback, no breakfast. But it's less than 10 minutes walking distance and McDonald's is on the way. There's also other places where you can buy juice, milk and cereal to keep in the room. My room was clean and I had no problems with it.

We just stayed at the Crowne Plaza for $85.00 per night (very nice hotel). We did use their shuttle to to back and forth to the parks, but that was no problem at all. To get killer rates on a hotel just go to hotwire.com, put in Anaheim, etc.. it will then tell you we have a four star for this amount, a 3 star for this amount. You then pick one and pay for it then it tells you which you just got. If you don't care which hotel you stay in then this would be a good method for you. It will tell you if the hotel has a pool, a shuttle or whatever. I think the Crowne Plaza showed as a four star in South Anaheim Disney area.

We have stayed here before also and it was clean and quiet, and not a bad walk to DL. Our room also had a view of the fireworks Of course we missed the lower ones, but we had been to the beach for the day, so it was nice to relax on the balcony and still get to see them.

We loved the Tropicana. We got a very cheap rate (about $65 a night), it had a free breakfast and was a five minute walk tops to the turnstiles. Its been recently refurbed. We have also stayed at the HoJo but its a further walk and no free breakfast. But I would stay there again as well but prefer the Tropicana. Someone mentioned the Park Inn International. This is now called the Camelot Inn, is also very close and owned and operated by the same ppl who own the Tropicana. Its maybe a one to two minute further walk than the Tropicana. We haven't stayed there since its been redone and renamed so I can't comment on how it is these days.

We have stayed at the HoJo twice and would recommend it. We had a tower room both times, with a view of the park. Very large room, clean, in good shape and very friendly employees. It's also on the Disneyland shuttle system, should you not want to walk. But, really, we walked it multiple times a day and it's not very far. No continental breakfast but you pass McDonald's on your walk to the park.

We are booked into the Best Western Park Place Inn for the last week in Sept. Our room has a king size bed and a pull out for our son. With my AAA card they quoted me $89.00 a night. But remember we haven't actually been yet, so I couldn't tell you how it is, I only know what they are charging us.

The Park Place Inn is great. It is about the closest to DL, so when you've walked your feet off all day, it's just a few more steps to get back to your room and bed. The pool is small, and most rooms don't have a view (ours looked out on a wall of the hotel next door) but we enjoyed our stay. Some people complain about the continental breakfast, but they had toast, muffins, cereal, milk, and juice, which is more than anyone in my family usually eats for breakfast. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave, so if you wanted something else, there's a 7-11 about two blocks away that sells pretty much any convenience food you might be looking for. We bought peanut butter to eat with our toast, and that held us over till lunch time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was good-sized (we got a minisuite with two beds and a fold-out couch).
