Inept person with transfer ?????

I would like to try to make tshirts for my DGS birthday trip. (end of Dec so I should have time--right???)

I would like one for him and then one for his Dad and one for me--I was thinking along the lines (Birthday Boy's Daddy/Grandma, Celebrating xx's Birthday, Today is xx's birthday etc)

Are the designs posted here availave to use or do I contact the poster by pm and ask for one to be sent? I found one I really really like but it has another little boy's name on it.

How do even begin thinking of making t-shirt/sweatshirt?

I am thinking--pick a design, buy a tshirt, print the design from my home pc onto magic paper, iron the magic paper onto the tshirt---but somewhere in there it gets inverted?

Can I "order" a tshirt from some of the posters here? Is it a business for any of them?

If I get the transfer from here can I take it somewhere where they will put it on a tshirt--Michaels maybe???
P.S. I do not own an iron--tossed it when I went to a professional steamer.

If you found a design that you like, just respond to that designer and they can customize it for you. Then they can either post it here, pm it to you or email it you. Either way, you save the image to your computer and print to iron on transfer paper.

Be sure you buy dark transfer paper if you are putting it on any shirt that is not white. You can also use dark on white as well - the colors seem to be much brighter and in most cases - with dark - you do not have to flip the image.

You cannot get the shirts on here - most get them at retail stores or order them online (I used www.jiffyshirts.com)

As far as taking the transfers somewhere and having them done - you will probably not have any luck because Disney is trademarked - so companies can't make money off them. My advice is - you'll have to buy a new iron or borrow one.

It sounds "simple???" enough that I should be able to do it. I just have very little talent---I once tried to use a glue gun----OMG!! What a disaster that was. I fogured if I started now, I could just keep practicing until I get it right--I have almost two months.

It's not hard at all and only takes a few minutes to do. You can do this, it takes no artistic tallent at all. If you can print something off your computer, remove the paper backing and iron over it for 2 minutes, you got this covered. Give it a try, they make wonderful memories.
