Hey! I'm confused cause I've heard so many rumors about this so called "Indy Dark Ride". I've heard, it's going to happen, then it isn't, one said the IJSS is closing for it then one said it's going inside the GMR. Anybody have a straight story? Grrrrrrrrrrr I am so confused I could just... :badpc: Bye!

Welcome to the rumors board. :goodvibes I wish there was a 'straight answer.' There have been a number of rumors about the Indiana Jones ride from Disneyland being transplanted to Disney World, but so far none of the have materialized. I'm afraid this is a case of wait & see.

The only good news is that we will probably hear about it before it becomes general knowledge, since we have a lot of people that keep their ears to the ground. :listen:

Thank you for the welcome. :flower: The one rumor I mind, concerning this, is that it will replace GMR. :sad2: I like that ride and think it adds the movie in it being a movie theme park.

Once again, just a rumor, but the most prolific part of the rumor says that it is supposed to replace The Indiana Jones Stunt Show, sometime in the future after the auto stunt show opens. There are a couple other threads here someplace about that subject.

More news :) , acordding to screamscape, the imagineers are now brainstorms the Indy ride. But it probalbly won't be a "Dinosaur" like ride :sad2: . They are suposedly thinking up a whole new ride! :sunny: I hope more info is released soon!

This rumor has been around for years.

From what I hear it is much more likely that we will see new attractions in the ABC TV theatre, as a replacement for Millionaire, and to fill the other main soundstage (seldom used).

The ABC TV is rumored to eventually being a clone of Cinemagic from Disney Studios Paris or the return of Superstar Television. As for the soundstages they would make great spaces for Dark Rides like those in Fantasyland but I don't expect current management to go that route. They would much rather a cheap show or empty space.

While an Indy attraction in the current EPIC space is possible I view it as unlikely because:

1. The Epic show still draws large crowds.

2. Why would the current management pay for a $100 million + attraction when they can just give the stunt show a fresh coat of paint every few years.

3. The costuming building would need to relocated, making the guest parking lot even smaller and moving the cast members even further away.

As much as I believe that movie based attractions belong at the studios I think we are more likely to see an Indy based attraction at Magic Kingdom or even Animal Kingdom. A Journey to the Center of the Earth attraction is a distinct possibility as well. Some combination is possible too such as a Journey ride system with an Indy theme. If it were to be built at Magic Kingdom it would be in Adventureland. I think it is high time the Magic Kingdom received a new E-ticket (Splash opened in 1992!) Animal Kingdoms next major attraction would likely go in the Camp Minnie Mickey Area. Both are far in the future though unless someone totally changes the company's way of thinking.

I also love that ride. Even if Disney can't get the rights to some of the MGM movies in the ride, :wave2: don't destroy the whole ride. That is a Disney classic

There was an article about this on Jim Hill Media regarding the rights to the movies used in GMR. The rights to use those films were negotiated seperately from the right to use the MGM name on the theme park, so even if the MGM name goes away, GMR will not have to be changed.

I have never seen the show but I like the idea of a new Indy ride! but does it really put a focus on Showbiz?
