So, I keep hearing about how great the queue is for Indy and wondering, do you get to see and do all the cool stuff if you fast pass it?

Excellent Question......& the answer is yes. :thumbsup2

My take on the Indy queue (so that's how you spell it  ) :

- FP allows you to avoid the winding rope line (which could be 10 min. or 50 min.)
- Then when entering...one should walk VERY slowly. Even if no one is ahead of you or if there are people behind you, don't rush. You'll reach a Second line eventually for the newsreel. (so why hurry up just to wait in line?)
- Lots of great detail in the 100-200 yard long queue....so enjoy it.
- But don't under any circumstances pull any bamboo poles (if it tells you not to pull them) ;).

& probably best to wear hightop boots, in case the rats fall into your jeep.

:lmao:

Just so you know (since sarcasm sometimes doesn't get transmitted well thru the "internets").... If you see a sign that says "Don't pull this pole" or "Don't pull this rope".....wait for a dis newb to get behind you & PULL IT HARD.:thumbsup2

(& the rats aren't real)

Thanks Hound! I actually did get your sarcasm!!:rotfl:

I would NOT reccommend doing an Indy Fastpass. We go tone on our trip last month, and when we got it the line was one hour. Then when we came back the line was for 15 minutes, and they said the weren't doing fastpasses. So we got in line, and it was for probably half an hour. It made us so mad, we had to wait there for half an hour, even though we had a fastpass. The worst part was that while we were waiting to use our indy fastpass, we couldn't get any more fastpasses (only 1 at a time) and so we wasted a lot of time. My dad complained about it, and they said that this pass will not expire and we can use it the rest of the day, but where does that get u if they are not operating a fastpass line??? GRRRR. :furious: Oh well, but it is porbably best not to waist your time with an indy fastpass.

An Indy fastpass is good on busy summer days. If the line isn't winding around on the outside, you won't need your FP. In Feb, we realized that we weren't getting much of a "jump" on those in the non-FP line. They do stop issuing FPs at some point most (summer) days, so it has its' advantages.

I was so bummed, the "rope" was broke. :( Quite a few people tried it, so we all are either not smart enough to make it work or it was broken.

Not sure about the rats? :confused3 but, EWW!

Well if the line was an hour, but then got down to 15 minutes, it would probably return to an hour later. Then you could use your FPs for a second ride on Indy! It was probably a breakdown and the line got really short at one time. Indy's line doesn't stay short for long.

There are messages written in Mara Font in the queue. If you carry the decoder card with you you can decipher them. Save the pic of the card to your computer & read the messages.

Click on the pic to go to the Hidden Mickey's page (since the pic of the card is from there).

How many of you still have your card?

Me! I have two different designs, actually. One from when the attraction first opened, and then another slightly different design from later on.

Unfortunately since fastpass, the majority of the actual queue is not even waited in anymore. It's basically a twisty, windy race to the film room where the queue finally "begins". I guess it would be rather pointless for Disney to give out the cards anymore since the great majority of them would not be used, although it would be a nice tie-in for the new Indiana Jones Summer of Hidden Mysteries promotion.

Thanks Mary Jo!! That is so cool!!:cool1:

Which stand-by line gets the longest thru out the day Indy or SM? And which one will run out of FP's first?

Indy and Space Mountain sometimes get about the same length in the peak time right in the afternoon. The difference is that Indy's line dies down several times through out the day. Space Mountain definitely runs out of fast passes sooner. I've seen them out as early as 12:30...

In my experience, usually Space will run out of FP's first and have the longest wait when evening rolls around. I think it's a ride lots of people do twice- so they did it once earlier in the day, then after dinner want to go again. They both can expect hour+ waits all day on busy days.

That's why early FPs are so important! It's great to have 2 SM FP's to use later in the day, especially if you rode it first thing. :-)

Can you tell my kids are now out of the "Fantasyland first" stage?:lmao:

The Indy FP's have been pointless for us our last couple trips ~ there never was a line outside the ride building, and that's all you bypass with a fast pass. The queue is cool but after you've seen it many times it'd be nice to skip it and get right to the front. We always get a FP for SM 1st.

We did Indy a couple of times this week always using Fast Passes. Well worth it. Long ques!

I carry mine in my wallet. I used to throw them out (annual pass and living only 15 mins away meant many trips which meant many cards when it was first opened) and then my family moved and a few years later I came across one in my desk drawer and it's been in my wallet ever since.

There is stuff to look at down below in the windy part, so if you aren't going to benefit from the fast pass, I say take a minute to check that stuff out.
