Indy Jones Ride; How is it????

I love riding Indy! Especially with my family members. It's so funny to see their expressions and reactions while riding the ride. On my last trip in August, my little sister (she just turned 10) clenched her eyes shut at the part where they say: "Look into the eyes of Mara!!" She even yelled: "NEVER! I will never look into your eyes!!" like she didn't want to turn into stone or something! LOL! :rotfl:

Thats cute!

I overheard my 6 year old niece describing Indy to my DS. She said "well first you come to Mara and you're not suposed to look in her eyes. I did and everything went crazy. I was the one that looked in her eyes!" :rotfl2:

It was so funny. She actually sounded a little guilty. :rotfl:

Indy

This is my take on the Indy ride…….love this ride.

As you leave the boarding platform you turn right and face 3 doors: Eternal Youth, Wisdom/Knowledge, or Riches (These can change throughout the day as to which you go into….yes they rotate). As you enter the door, your vehicle goes up a hill towards Mara who now has hers eyes open (In the queue line all of the pics of her have her eyes closed). On each side of you as you approach Mara, the scene changes depending on which door you went into. Each side of you has 3 alcoves. The openings are covered with a screen. For eternal youth you see the painting on the screens. For wisdom/knowledge the screens are blackened but you see fiber optic lights on the ceiling. For the riches entrance gold light floods the alcoves and you see treasures and statues, I think. A flood light shines on the vehicle from one of Mara’s eyes casting the curse on us as someone obviously looked in her eyes.

We turn left out of this room and see Indy holding a large bulging door closed and says “You had to look.” (this changes sometimes but is usually to this effect. There are suppose to be over 100,000 combinations of little changes so it isn’t the same ride twice).

We take off again slightly left and see the large skull in the big room in the distance. Just as we approach the opening, we swerve left in a dark tunnel? that has silhouettes of bugs crawling on the walls. Are they crawling across our jeep’s headlights????

We emerge and enter the great room going across the rope bridge. The jeep stalls on the bridge, giving us a chance to see the fire in the eyes of the skull rock on the left. The jeep starts again and we make it across the bridge.

Safely across the bridge we careen to the right and curve around a wall of skulls with arches made of giant cobra heads. As we approach the exit to the room, we realize the last cobra is not a part of the architecture, but is a real giant cobra that strikes at the vehicle.

We escape and see the next vehicle approaching the bridge in the distance as our jeep makes a sharp right. We swerve back to the left as we go behind the skull rock. We can see the fire as we look thru the skulls eyes. Also look up at the ceiling to see a screen with a character (Aztec, Myan, Egyptian?) painted on it.

Our jeep then drive down one level under the rope bridge as a burst of fire shoots from the floor.

We leave the great room turning right into a lower level tunnel. This time the tunnel shows us rats’ shadows reflecting in a cloud of smoke as our jeep drives thru the cloud.

We continue driving turning right again as we see walls painted with more characters (Aztec, Myan, Egyptian?). Poison darts (bursts of air) hit us as we narrowly escape.

Then we see Indy hanging from a rope as we approach our uphill climb and the huge rolling ball rolls toward us. Indy tells us to “Back up!” Our jeep struggles but manages as we take the low road to escape.

In the final room, Indy is looking triumphant as he too has escaped the crashing ball that appears behind him. He says, “Why did it have to be tourists!” as we leave this room to our starting point to exit the jeep and the Greatest Attraction at any Disney park!!!!!!
