I have not ridden the Indiana Jones ride at DL, I have seen a lot of docs on it and it looks extremely cool, but heres the question. How long is it? I only saw about 2 sections but was thinking surely it has more, (the large rock and the skull with lasers shooting out) Are there many rooms/sections, or is it pretty short? The more description the better, thanks.

It is about 5 minutes long. I do not consider it a short ride. There are many areas to the ride, with one major room but a lot of...experiences...in the tunnels.

Have you been on Dinosaur at WDW? It is a similar ride but with very different theming inside.

Yeah I knew that they were using the same vehicle, but was really interested in exactly what from the Indy Jones movie is in the ride, like the poison arrows shooting at you, other stuff in the cave etc., thanks.

The Indy ride is my all-time favorite! Way better than the Dinosaur ride...similar, yeah they use the same car, but totally different ride. :)

Yes, they have snakes, rats, poison arrows, falling boulders, shooting lasers, skeletons, and bugs. You pretty much ride through a lot of the perils that Indy has faced.

It's been 9 yrs since I rode it (DD was too short in 02) & what I remember is that there are 3 doors you can go through when you start. Each door takes you through a different tunnel, therefore you see the ride from a different vantage point. There were scenes from the movie(s) & after being jostled & entertained you're paid a visit from Indie himself. Well worth it, it's my new, old favorite. ;)

The way it works is that there are 3 possible route you take through the attraction. You see everything on each route, but just in a different order. There are rooms with poision arrows zipping past your head, bugs crawling over you, snakes striking at you, and you keep passing through a large room with a rickity bridge in between each room. You are never traveling very fast, but the movements of the car add to the 'out of control' feeling.
I have heard it said the the track layout is identical to Dinosaur at AK, with different effects. I'll check that out next week.

I have never heard that and find it hard to believe. Indy has the huge room with the bridge, fire, snake, etc., and Dinosaur has nothing like this.

Thanks ya'll, I've heard most visitors at DL think its the best ride there.

I reccomend gettin a fast pass for this ride... like get it when you first enter the park;)

HydroGuy, do you think the Orlando parks are better than the Cali parks? Same? Different? I mean I know Orlando has more, but I guess rank the MK with DL, Thanks

You might have noticed I started a poll on this, and I refrained from giving my opinion there until the poll is complete. Believe it or not, this is a hugely controversial question on some other DLR forums. FWIW, I have visited DCA on four trips over the last three years, two of which were day trips and the other two were multi-day. My first trip to WDW was in June where I spent two full days at each of the four parks.

I thought DCA compared well to the WDW parks overall. After MK, MGM was the park that most made me want to go back. It just had a fun atmosphere which I did not find as much at AK and Epcot.

DCA is most similar to MGM.

When it comes to DL vs. MK, I admit a huge bias as DL is my home park and I like it better. Plus it has about 30% more rides. The only thing from MK that is not at DL that I would miss is Philharmagic.

I love this ride. I am very dramatic on it. Screaming and acting like I am really getting hurt when the spears are being thrown. I become a total 1980's horror movie drama queen. My husband cracks up during the whole ride listening to me. :rotfl2:

Sorry to burst your bubble but you are wrong. There is only ONE door. The walls around it move so it changes the location of the "real" door. Think of it this way, there are 5 doors painted and the real one is in the middle. The walls around the room move so that only 3 are seen, changing the position of the real door.

Okay, it's one door, but it's an illusion of choosing three routes, either left, middle, or right, and I've been through all three. I think this ride made Adventureland a very popular section of the park. It's truly awesome.

Exactly! That is also why there are mirrors to the left of you, just before you enter the door room. To create the illusion.

29 is correct - it is an illusion that there are multiple tracks.

However, there are parts of the ride that are not constant every time, including the rolling boulder section.

That's what I was trying to say, that the route you take is different. You travel past the different show elements in a different order. That is correct about the door illusion, but I didn't want to spoil that one :p
