Indy Jones meets James Bond

Went to see Cowboys and Aliens this afternoon and came out mightily impressed. Loved the characters, the story line was plenty fun and even the music was great! It was so fun to see so many well known actors in this one....and they all played their parts straight faced. (wasn't expecting that. was fully expecting cheesy but it wasn't!)

If you're looking for an action, sci fi, adventure, cowboy/western, thriller I highly recommend it! I hope others enjoyed it as much as we did.

Honestly, movies like this are what a summer matinee is all about!!

Critics have pooh pooh'ed the movie already. So of course DW and I went last night and really enjoyed the movie!!

We saw it last night -- thought it was great! Loved Daniel Craig. Although, what's not to love? Our local paper gave it 3-1/2 stars. I agree.

I've seen the previews, looks good to me. It's on my list with Final Destination 'n The Help.

Saw the movie last night. I have to agree with the critics. Although I loved Daniel Craig , I thought it was too talky...NOT enough action. It was directed by same guy who did Iron Man-I had the same complaint for that movie. I thought the concept was a good one, it was missing something.

Perhaps it's because Craig and Ford are relatively cranky people? LOL. Can't wait to see this... and was stunned to read yesterday that it was outperformed at the box office on Friday by The Smurfs!!!

Isn't that unreal? I read about that, and just think we fail as a society when we let things like that happen.

The Smurfs is being slammed by just about everyone and yet it's number 1. Weird.

We plan to see Cowboys and Aliens. From what I've seen, critics just about always dislike this type of movie and I love them.

I saw previews for this and thought "probably have to miss that one" but maybe not.

I generally find that if critics hate the movie, I like it. They are looking for "great cinematography" and crap like that . I want an entertaining movie . I like checking out the Yahoo reviews because it gives side by side reviews of critics and real people-they rarely agree.

Never in my born days have I ever heard someone say a movie is too "talky". Love that.....I agree there was a lot of dialogue but dang it was really really good dialogue! LOVED what they had to say especially the preacher! He was awesome!

They really are crankypants aren't they? In an issue of Entertainment Weekly they did an interview with both of them and they were just ornery and cranky, very much like who they really are I suppose. I kind of liked that about their characters in this movie. Some might have been offended by that interview but it was quite honest and refreshing to see two fairly normal thinking men and how they pick and choose their roles.

I want to see Captain America. What recent movies might you compare it to?

Thanks for mentioning The Tourist. I've wanted to catch that one as well but it got such a sound thrashing I've been avoiding it. Good to know it might be worth watching! Thanks!

That just makes me want to see it more ! I feel the total opposite about most movies like this these days - WAY too much action and not nearly enough talking.

We liked it, too. It's not the best movie I've seen this year, but it was entertaining. But then I see movies like to be entertained, and not simply to pick them apart.
