Indulging yourself...where the cost is worth it!

I'll also say the cabana at the water park. We got one at TL on our last trip (This time in 2013) and it was the best investment of the whole trip.

Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise is a family splurge that is completely worth the cost.

Dinner at California Grill - best food I've personally consumed on property.

We get MM on every trip and get lots of pictures with the park icons and characters. It's not a huge splurge, but we love it and make good use of it.

I would like to take one of the special tours - particularly interested in the Steam Train Tour. Or, my other wish would be a fireworks cruise - Illuminations perhaps.

Maybe people don't consider this an indulgence, but I think the MEMORY MAKER is the best $$ spent - especially if you're doing lots of character meet & greets. Being able to watch and appreciate the character interaction without juggling trying to catch it all on camera is priceless. Also, with the lighting in some of the M&G areas, I can't get a good shot with my camera and the photographers generally do a great job.

We also did the pirates and pals cruise this past spring. It was a pretty big splurge (for us), and while it was fun, I wasn't really BLOWN AWAY by it. If I had to do it over, I would wait until my son was a bit older (he was 3), so he would remember it. My husband (who works in events for a living) was pretty underwhelmed. He kept commenting on how basic / simple the refreshments, decor, experience was and couldn't really grasp that people were lining up to pay $150 a person for it. However, you get to meet Smee and Capt Hook, a enjoy great boat ride, and an get excellent view of Wishes. So it's definitely a unique experience. Probably not one we would do again, though.

If you would like to take a tour without having to spend a lot of money or set aside a large portion of your day check out the Behind the Seeds tour at The Land pavilion. It isn't an indulgence at that price but it is a good thing to do one.

Something else I thought of that isn't very expensive by Disney standards is Dine with an Animal Expert at Sanaa. It was worth the price and you get to know a lot about the animals and the process Disney goes through to care for them.

We did this years ago as well and it was wonderful, but unfortunately my daughter never forgot the trauma of seeing a mother rabbit attacking a large bird that was threatening her babies.....then the bird grabbing a baby rabbit, killing it, and following our safari vehicle around with the rabbit dangling from it's beak. OMG it was awful. Just our luck to see THAT circle of life......
Now I'm traumatized :guilty:

What about the Grand 1 yacht? Just curious but does anyone know what this actually costs to rent? Don't worry you can say the cost, I'm sitting down.

Once or Twice or Thrice in a Lifetime: Dining at Cinderella's Castle. I did as a child, I did it as a teenager... I have yet to do it as an adult, because Mom & Dad aren't paying this time! :earboy2:

However, DH & I will eventually dine there; things have changed since the early 2000s, getting reservations there and the food etc. There are so many other amazing restaurants on site, we are having too much fun checking out all those!

I think currently our splurges are on dining--I like trying all the restaurants; I may pack my own bottles of water and snacks, but I like a good TS meal.

I don't know if this is a huge splurge but we love pick a pearl. After all the fireworks cruise replies I think I will add that to our plans. I was going to book the Ferry Dessert Party but the cost is more than some of the specialty cruises - it's $396 for our family of 4. I would rather pay the same price for a private cruise.

Dessert parties (any of 'em). The In-room celebrations. Getting a cake at one of the restaurants (EG A Chocolate Slipper at Cinderella's Castle)
Staying on-site.
Staying at club-level on-site.
Staying at a theme park view, club level, on-site...
:)

also had a question......and you may night even know, but I am looking on the Disney florist website.....is the only thing they have for birthdays those 2 in room big deals? I just want a little balloon or a baby thing of snacks......I might need to just "create my own"

Yeah - On the top Click on Special Occasions | Birthday or Custom Gift Builder and follow the steps OR Custom Gift Builder and select Birthday there under occasion (Which gives you a different selection than Special Occasions, oddly enough...)

Dolphins in Depth and Wild Africa Trek. DW and I did these Dec. 2014 and I'm thinking about a repeat in April 2016!!! DW was totally blown away as it was kept secret until we got to the respective park to sign in for each one !!!! Anniversary/ birthday gift for her !!!:duck:pixiedust: Of course, I was glad to tag-a-long !!!

Staying on-site is a must.

MNSSHP for sure, and I liked the Wishes Dessert Party and thought that was a great add-on. I've done the Keys To The Kingdom tour and loved that too, I'd definitely recommend it.

For us, it's as simple as just making sure to include one no-park "Resort Day." We can sleep in, swim, shop, and go to a non-Park dinner.
