Indirect flights

They are there for your dates. Adults £419.20, Children £381.20
Its with AirIndia Heathrow to New York then Delta to MCO.
Same price as our dates 31st July-25th Aug. Do I book or wait?

Just checked on Opodo for my next visit 7-28 Aug 2008
2 Ad + 1 Ch = £1219.60.
Outbound = Heathrow - JFK - Orlando (2hrs 45min transfer @ JFK)
Same route on Inbound (2hrs 12min transfer)
Almost £1000 cheaper than Virgins direct MAN - MCO same day :scared1:

I am very tempted :headache:

Just read the message I am going to work today and will find out if I still have a job, until I find that out cant do anything about flights and hope not to have to cancel the holdiay.

ugh ugh ugh...
as much as i hate changing flights in europe, DD and I will be doing just that at the end of the month....

flying KLM into amsterdam and then switching to NWA for amsterdam to detroit (Northworst owns detroit - almost total monopoly control of the flights in and out)..

these are FF award tickets....supposedly free, and yet i had to pay 240 euro per person in airport taxes :scared1: ....that's unbelievable..i paid almost $700 out of pocket for the two of us for ostensibly 'free' tickets....nuts....

Go for it!!!

We always go indirect, a break at the first airport and clearing customs/immigration.and so much cheaper............

Used to always do it but for the money now Im afraid just getting on and getting off is worth the difference. Still I suppose it starts adding up when theres a few of you.. Its ok going but coming back you just want to get home..

He has the same problem as me though the drive down to London and back(although not as far as me). I am very tempted but then keep thinking about our missed flight last October from Heathrow, gave ourselves about 6 hours to get down but still not enough with roadworks, accidents and bad weather. But it is over £600 saving:confused3

Have you looked at Continental, from a regional airport (closer to you) into Newark-MCO possibly??
Or...
With the possible savings you make it might be better to take a hotel for the previous night (esp with free parking) then you know you will get to the airport on time.

Hi jen,
sorry i don't have time to read all the posts so far but have just written about my experience of indirect flights on my trip report "WDW girly tour-getting there", you might find it helpful. good luck with your planning:thumbsup2

Yes, tried every option I know, Previously we have done continental codeshare(Virgin Flight) and Indirect via Newark, but they want £914 codeshare or £685 indirect for next August.
Cheapest option is Delta at £680 indirect or £763 Virgin Direct (Only direct carrier from Manchester)
I am not so bothered about going out as we will set off in plenty of time if we fly from Heathrow again, its the return thats the problem doing a 3-4 hour drive very tired, I did it once before from Gatwick and its not easy for me.
As for the hotel, I have never done this because of the cost, they all seem to include a max of 15 nights then charge about £10/night after this. We would need to park up for 27 nights total, so probably talkng over £200 for hotel and parking campared to £100 car park only.
So much to think about, I just wish Virgin would release Miles and Money prices now then if they are more than £550 I would book the Heathrow flights.

I agree with the drive back scenario! Nightmare.
This year we got a taxi there and back, it was great, no car parking hassle.
I used Expedia to price the flights and then bought them in the October prior to our Aug/Sep holiday. In the January BA advertised flights direct to MCO for £420 pp, al in. Could have saved a further £80 per head! However, I like to get my flights booked asap. Dont do charter flights (once was enough) so it is difficult......Good Luck with your planning.

some info, might be useful for indirect flights with American airlines.
