Hi! My 5 year old son is soooooo excited to go to Indiana Jones . On our last trip to MGM, we didn't get to see the show, so this is a must-see this time. I have a few questions about this show.
1.) I read that fast pass is available. How does fast pass work for a show with audience seating?
2.) How many times per day is the show offered?
3.) Is it an air conditioned theater? Just wondering if we should do this one early in the am or late at night to avoid baking in the August heat (if it is outside?).
4.) Can we get Indiana Jones' autograph and a picture with him anywhere? My son has become a BIG fan!
5.) Finally, my son wants to be Inidana for Halloween. Is there a gift shop nearby that has lots of Inidana Jones merchandise? Any cool kids costumes, etc.?

Thanks so much for taking time to help me with all of my questions! I have loved the DisBoard for awhile and you all are great resources. Today is my first official new thread posting, so forgive me if I have too much to ask.

Theater is not air conditioned (but there are ventilation fans).

You need to realize that the show does not ever even CLAIM that you are seeing the "Indiana Jones"/Harrison Ford character.

They introduce the "stars" of the show as the STUNT DOUBLES for Harrison Ford and Karen Allen.

FP is not really necessary if you just arrive at the theater 25-30 minutes before the showtime.

Hats and other Indy stuff can be found for sale at MGM.

You need to keep the following link handy.
It will give you up-to-date showtimes for most every show at WDW:

This site post the shows times for the current week, but they will be "close" for other times as well.
Near the top of the page, click on the colored links for the show times at the various parks.

The current Indy times are as follows:

Indiana Jones EPIC STUNT SPECTACULAR
30-minute shows
Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday-Saturday at 12:15, 1:30, 2:45, 4:30 & 6:15pm
Monday at 10:45am, 12:00, 1:15, 3:15 & 4:30pm
Wednesday at 1:45, 3:15, 4:30, 6:30 & 7:45pm (also 9:30 & 10:45pm for Extra Magic Hours)

Robo - Thanks so much for the quick info and link to current show times. That gives me a good idea of when the shows will probably be. I already talked to my son about how Harrison Ford is too "old" ( :goodvibes no flames please - I don't think he is old, but a five year old has a different perspective on age) to do the show now, so they have new guys doing it.
May I ask, how does fastpass work with a show / theater setting?

Its not quite like, "Honey, this is really Santa Claus' HELPER".

Like I said, they are not trying to say the performer was EVER supposed to be Indy himself. They actually introduce him as Harrison's "stunt double".
What I'm getting at is its not SUPPOSED to BE Harrison, so getting an Indy autograph is not quite the same as getting one from the REAL STAR like, say, Mickey Mouse.
:goodvibes

I implied in the first post that a FP for a theater attraction works about like "not getting one" and just arriving 30 minutes before showtime.
If you take the FP, you will be let into the theater starting about 30 before the show. When the FP folks are inside, the standby folks are then allowed to enter.

See thow that "works"? ;)

Thanks again Robo! I guess we'll skip fastpassing this one and fastpass rides like ToT, etc. I like your "Santa's Helper" analogy. I get what you're saying. My son will still think the show's cool , even if it is a stunt double. Reality and fantasy blur when it comes to "Indy"! ;)

He (and YOU) will have a GREAT time!

Its a BIG show.
You can sit anywhere and see just fine, but we like to be closer to "front and center" when we attend.

There's an Indy shop right near the theatre. If you are standing looking at the entrance, it's over to the left.

I understand your son's fixation on the show. My "little boy" is 24 years old, married with a baby on the way and he ALWAYS has to see this one.

I would second that advice to sit "front and center" for this show. If you pick a seat, say to the right of left of center, and the theater then starts to fill up as show time nears, the CMs will begin to ask people to scoot over toward the center. If you have picked an aisle seat to the side which you would like to keep, they will try and get you to move to the center of the section you are sitting in.

I have also noticed that if you sit near the front it will take you much longer to exit the theater than if you sit near the back. The walkways exiting the theater seem to be very crowded, not allowing fast exit from the show. If that's important to you, take note.

Also, following the show many people will go to the Muppett Vision show nearby. This causes a backup at these times.

Plan accordingly.

Enjoy.

If you go down to the front after the show, the actors/CMs will come out for autographs and pictures. They sign their real name and gladly pose.

We first did this when DD was 5 and she was hooked on the movies. She loved getting their photos and we only just stopped when she was 11. Have many photos. She got a hat there at the gift stand and we have some pics where she took her hat. The CMs were very nice. She was Indiana for several halloweens!

Have fun!
