What's up with the Indiana jones boulder? I was at Disneyland back in August from the 9th to the 13th and every time I went on the Indiana jones ride, the boulder just spun and didn't move out like it usually does. Have they stopped this effect or was it just broken, and if so, is it fixed now?

I think the ride's being re-done in Oct., so probably was just broken. The ride seems to break down a lot. We spent about 15 mins. in the snake room once.

Re-done? Really? That would be awesome if Disney finally refurbished that ride!

Indiana is closed for refurbishment from September 4, 2012 through December 7, 2012.

Yay! let's hope the end date doesn't slip...we are going to be at DLCA 12/25-12/31 and would hate to miss out on one of hte best attractions of all time

During our spring trip we were on the dark room (is it mice?) and we were stuck for about 10 minutes. The car didn't stop bouncing though and a little girl behind us starting crying claiming she was going to throw up :crazy2:. Thankfully she didn't, but it was a not pleasant experience.

I would die. And then send Disney the bill for the therapy I'd need! :rotfl2:

Ha! I didn't mind but someone in my party asked the CM if we could get another FP for it since that long break in there sort of ruined the ride and he said, "No, sorry." I bet if they let everyone it broke down on re-ride, the line would never be shorter than 2 hours. :lmao:

We broke down on Indy once, in the first room just after you look into the Eyes of Mara and we got to ride again right away, we didn't even unload. I guess we had good CMs! :)

It would be nice for them to fix it up a bit, it is prone to break downs.

the break downs have a lot to do with the ride vehicles...
each one has its own computer system, tons of hydraulics, sound system, lots of pivot points, steering system etc....
not to mention all the features of the individual sets and scenes...
A lot like the old Rocket Rod ride vehicles...and we know how those worked out.
Glad Disney keeps this ride running as well as they do.

The new RSR has similar problems because of the vehicles and the sets/scenes already.;)

The boulder should hopefully be getting fixed during this current refurbishment! That and a some other effects. They need to spruce the whole thing up. Can't wait to ride it again after the refurb!

That ride has been having problems for years. On one of our trips several years ago, I think the boulder only worked once (and we went on that ride a bunch of times).

Indiana is closed for refurbishment from September 4, 2012 through December 7, 2012.

I am so glad about this. I hope they are able to finally fix everything!

I knew it wasn't working right. The first time we rode it a couple years ago we were in the front row and the boulder seemed like it was really coming right at you. This last trip, it didn't seem to do anything. I wonder what else wasn't working correctly.

We also got stuck in the dark room for a short 30-45 seconds. We thought maybe they had issues on the loading platform and all cars had to halt. :confused3

We Rode it the last day before it shut down and I swear, like half the ride wasn't functioning right. It was pretty bad. Glad they are updating it..

I was stuck in line the last time I was there for about 15 minutes. I happen to be in the front of the room where they show that video over and over. They were nice to turn off the sound for us. I was talking to the CM and what he told us the reason the ride stops offen because people lose there stuff out of the car and they have to go find it.

Hopefully in the new refurb there will be some new effects added. Maybe some effects that are in the Indiana jones in Tokyo Disney. That would be cool!
