Hi!

Bit of an odd request, but I'm hoping some of you may have some answers :)

Tomorrow evening, im going to visit a friend in Birmingham and she wants to go out to an Indian restaurant to eat.

I hardly ever eat Indian food so I wonder if some of you could help me as I'm pretty clueless as to what is available. I know curries are quite fatty, but what are my lower fat/calorie options at an Indian?

I've only got 2 weeks before I go away, so don't wanna mess the diet up now :)

Thanks!

Usually the dishes that have more calories are the creamy curries like korma,so you could try going for a tomato based curry or a drier dish like chicken tandoori.

possibly something like tandoori chicken (remove the skin) may be an idea for you.

Thanks both! Seeing as you've both suggested tandoori, I think that's what I may end up going for!

Thanks again!

I usually order a chicken shashlik as it doesn't have the rich creamy sauce so less fatty. Its just cooked chicken with flavour :goodvibes Hope you enjoy your meal :thumbsup2

When I'm being good I will have Chicken Tikka with a salad, you just need to stay away from anything in a creamy (yet yummy) sauce ~ have fun and enjoy :)

So, are you all telling me that my vegetable korma and cheese nan is not the way to go if I want to lose some weight?:rotfl:

Most curries have quite a lot of ghee in them (clarified butter) and the mild ones like korma or Passanda have cream and/or yogurt.

You could try chicken tikka or tandoori chicken (it won't have skin on). Some restaurants do a tandoori fish dish too.

Alternatively, go for a chicken phal - it passes through you body so quick it won't have time to pass on any calories :lmao:

Stay clear of alcohol too - that is very fattening :)

If it was me, I would say sod it and have whatever I fancied and go for a couple of long walks to burn off the extra calories :thumbsup2
