Is it just me or does it seem like indian jones is always breaking down! When i was there it broke down a few times and from what i hear it does it pretty often! I thought maybe they would do a re-vamp on it with the new movie coming out, but then i heard they are thinking if it doesn't start to run better just getting rid of it all together.... Anyone one else heard whats gonna happen with this ride? Its a fun ride I really hope they just work all the kinks out!

Do you have a link of where you "heard" this?:surfweb: But anyway, I think it is WAY too popular for them to get rid of it.

It was some ap's we were in line with, but everywhere we went people were complaining about it breaking down! I hope they don't get rid of it, hopefully they will redo it someone how like they did pirates with there movie releases.... fingers crossed :goodvibes

My DH and DS had to be evacuated from the ride when it broke down last June when we were there. My DS2 and I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for them to come out and finally they did after about an hour or so. We noticed the ride was closed a couple of times over the next couple of days too when we walked by the entrance.

IJA has not hand a major refurb since before the 50th celebration started in May 2005 - almost three years ago. There were rumors it was going down for an extensive refurb this year but that never happened. That it is breaking down often is not surprising. Eventually they will have to take it down for four months like they did for Splash Mtn in 2007.

It broke down 4 weeks ago with me on it, which was scary. We were just sitting in the dark (right after the boulder comes at you) for about 4 minutes. The music kept playing and Indy's voice was going, but we couldn't see him yet.

It broke down twice last week when we were there again! We had FP's for like 4 hours before we could actually use them, and then we didn't need them b/c it had just opened back up, so we walked right on.

I highly doubt they will ever get rid of that ride. It is in need of a good refurb, though. I love that ride!

I hope it's working when I'm there in May. It's my first visit to DL and I've been wanting to check out that ride for years now!

Indy has a history of breaking down, and I always plan on the possibility that it will every time we visit. Be aware that the ride is not always shut down for mechanical reasons. Once the ride was stopped cuz a visitor lost his very very expensive sunglasses on the ride. He tried to get off the ride while it was operating to retrieve them. Became a security issue. Lately I have had good luck with Indy. I have been on Splash Mountain. Indy, BTMRR and Space Mountain (after 2005 refurb) when the ride has stopped and we had to get off of the ride. Has to happen sometime.

It seems to be down at least once on our trips. Not that it's a big deal, if it's down we just come back later. It's well worth waiting for. Once trip it broke down right after we got on. Really sucked but we just came back later and rode it. I doubt very much they would ever get rid of Indy, I can't even imagine thinking that! lol It's a very popular ride, it should be closed down for major refurb....maybe they are waiting for the movie to be released before they do that...who knows.

I then i heard they are thinking if it doesn't start to run better just getting rid of it all together.... Anyone one else heard whats gonna happen with this ride? Its a fun ride I really hope they just work all the kinks out!

There is no way this ride will close anytime in the near future in any kind of permanent ride. I'd say its about as likely they just smush the castle into the ground and leave the resulting hole as the center of the park.:rotfl:

I was going to say I would rather they shut it down as needed than to have it break down with me or my loved ones on it, :scared: and then I saw all the above posts in which you all said it broke down while you were on it!:scared1: Yikes! I love this ride and hope it never goes away. It does probably need a major refurb though...

This ride will not close permanently, it is one of DLR's best attractions and Disney simply spent way too much money on this ride to ever mothball it!

Yes it breaks down but they usually are good about getting her back up.

If it breaks down, no big deal..you won't DIE lol...even so, imagine the lawsuit they would have on their hands and the millions of dollars you would get if a ride HURT a guest. They do need to refurb a little bit, because it seems the past year only the door on the left has worked, as when it was new it would go through all 3 of the them.:confused3

Here's a YouTube Video of the ride breaking down in fact..lol

Here's one of Rockin' Space Mountain breaking down towards the end, definetly not something you see everyday!

It broke down when i was there but that was 6 years ago. This past May no incidents and I rode it 4 times.......

the tower of terror broke down when i was there

No incidents when I rode last March. No incidents when I rode last April. No incidents when I rode a month ago.

I understand your frustration: you don't want rides to break down on you. But do you really think that DLR would close down one of its most popular rides? Seeing as it is a DLR-exclusive (ehhh... Crystal Skull... TDS...), and that the MOVIE is coming in a month and a half, I really doubt that the IJA will be under refurb in the near future.

No problems when I was there and this was the ride I did the most times

Is it just me or are there lots of variations? I asked the cast member one day and she said there were only two? But there are three doors you can go in to, and I swear it was different each time I went, hmmmm

It broke down about every trip we made last year. Not while we were on it or in line, but when we would walk by, the Fastpass Sign would be out and a CM would be standing there explaining it was broken..

It does seem like it happens a lot...

There are three variations but you could ride it 10 times and you probably would not get an even distribution between them. Kinda cool like that.

There has always been one path and the doors and floor are the effect as they move (pivot) to make it seem as if there are three different entrances. On one of the threads titled "secrets" here there is a simple scematic that shows the layout of the three door effect.

There are a few other minor variations with what Indy will say but it is basically the same ride every time. Nothing wrong with that, I love Indy and have been on it well over 100 times. One of the best little things is at the end when Indy is standing by the rock he will say a number of different phrases as you head back to the loading dock.

It was really cool when they had single rider on Indy, you would use the elevator to go over the track to the other side via the handihapped route and there are a few little details that way.

I like the que lines and whole themed area almost as much as the ride itself!

On our last trip we rode Indy at least 3 times and we went through each door at least once so they do use them all.

Yeah, it happened when we were there last Saturday. Unfortunately, we waited until late in the day to use our Indy fastpass, and by the time we made it over there, it was closed. :headache: I didn't realize this was a regular thing; every other time I've gone, it's been up & running.
