We will be at WDW on July 4th next year. What can we expect?

We've never stayed over 4th July, but plenty of others have, so just bumping this up for you.

I do know that it will be very busy, but on the plus side, there are some special fireworks shows.

We did Universal Studios for Independence Day way back in 2001. It wasn't too crowded, although I have a feeling the Disney parks will be more so. There was a good atmosphere all day, with quite a few extra little events and things going on, and then one of the best firework displays EVER at the end of the night. I imagine Disney's 4th July fireworks would take that to an all new level again!

there are lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of people at WDW for the 4th, but i love it...
but i'm an american and a totally patriotic sap, so i adore all the pomp and circumstance...
the fireworks get me singing and crying at the same time...(always...it always happens to me...my kids just watch me waiting for the waterworks to start)....

somehow, i doubt it would have that affect on a brit (since after all, it's our independence day from.....)....but it is fun....and it might be interesting for you as a view on sappy americans....

We did MK about 4 years ago. Got there before rope drop and the palce was heaving
We were all issued with an American flag pin.
I think the park hit max capacity around midday and guest were refused entry.
It was a good experience..........but I dont think we will be doing it again

Didnt enjoy it much tbh.

MK was packed from very early on and full from around 11.30am

Massive lines to even the least popular rides and people were camping out for the parades over 2 hours before.

Good atmosphere but that was about all really. In the tighter areas you literally couldnt walk but had to just shuffle with the flow of people.

A better bet might be to go up to Central orlando where I tink they usually do a fair/fireworks in the main park/lake area thingy (cant remember the name )
