Can someone tell me honestly how crazy the parks will be for the 4th of July weekend? We will be travelling for the first time with my soon to be step-son and want to take him here as a surprise (he's a teen and will LOVE it!) and this is the only weekend we can take him....I just want to know if it'll be worth it for us to go, or if I will have a stroke from how crazy the parks are. We will be staying on site for 4 days....

It will be busy that weekend as any holiday weekend is but since you're staying onsite, the unlimited Express access will help you with the lines. Go and have a great time! :thumbsup2

We will be there same weekend for a week also. We went last year 2 days after the 4 of July and it was good. Yes, it's very busy and crazy but staying onsite makes it a cakewalk. Now Disney on the other hand was pain last year. The lines are hours long and very hot.

If I remember right the longest wait we had with FOTL was the Simpsons at about 25 minutes and that was one time.

Some friends will be in town that weekend and want to go to Universal. I told them to go ahead and have a great time...I'll be sitting at home in the A/C. :rotfl:

I'm used to the heat since I work outside in S Fla. We normally visit the parks in the am before noon, pool hop for the rest of the afternoon, have dinner and close the parks.

Was there Fourth of July in 2008, and 2006.

NO waits (in comparison to WDW). Walked right in most rides. Slept in. Walked right into Mummy....short wait for twister....MIB, Simpsons...short wait....Horror show (was actually good).....went to AI.....ran through Seuss.....Walked right into Mythos (restaurant) right as it rained....it stopped raining...right as we finished eating....Dueling Dragons may have had a wait...I didn't go....Water rides...some wait...not anything like WDW....

Sounds crazy, huh? I don't know - maybe we're lucky but we're Disney vets and US/IA just doesn't have a line according to what we call a line....

We just head to US in the morning, and IA when we're done with that....

Hasn't been an issue! Oh - Single RIders - we always do....that may have helped.....Spiderman has SR - for example....

have a great time!

We have been there 2 out of the last 3 years, and will be there first 2 weeks July this year.
We usually spend the day at the pool, then head to the parks around 5pm, never seemed any worse than just before the 4th or just after it

We were there last year too, it was great!! Good advise too sleeping late, and going to parks when it's cooler out, with FOTL, you won't have to worry about lines. You'll have a blast!
