They are flying into Orlando beginning 10/13 (I think) Check it out! I checked out Christmas flights just for the giggles and they are $99 each way!

getting ours for 59, one way, flying out of Greensboro nc

I was excited to see them flying out of Greensboro--Delta has reduced their fares by $80-100 to come close to them. Do we have assigned seating on Independence or is is open seating??

Just got my e-mail from them yesterday. if you book your flight before Sept. 27th, you can get the price of $59.00 one way. We are going to get our tickets today or tomorrow, there are 6 of us. Anyway we are excited about leaving from Greensboro, thought we were gonna have to fly SW from out of Raleigh, now we don't. nana2tots:Pinkbounc

They are also flying direct out of Huntsville!!!!

I am excited!! Although I may not be using them, they at least will keep the prices on our Delta Connection flights low!! If Delta doesn't keep their flights low, I'll switch to Independence!!

We booked our Nov flights on Delta 2 weeks ago when the rates were $192 (before going back up to $232). Plus we had 2 $26 vouchers to bring down our tickets to $166.

I checked today and our trip is now $187 ($5 less) but the leave early (6:10am) return late (9:35pm) R/T is $142! Holy cow.

I still like Delta's schedules and hope they stay in business. But I really love the competition and the fact that IA has direct flights, something AirTran didn't have.

If Delta does go under, still beats going to RDU to catch SWA.

They will be flying non-stop out of Dulles on the Airbus carriers in November. A great rate until Jan. 31, 2005. $64 each way. I crunched the numbers for my January trip and it's $146 rt. And surprisingly United/TED is matching the price. If you book for the first time before Dec. 31, 2004, you can get an additional $25 off of your flight if you register with Flyi.com. Glad to see some competition out of Dulles now for non-stop carriers. Also glad to see they will be using the Airbus 319 instead of the 30 seat jets.

I like the little jets. Quick on, quick off.

Plus when you hit turbulence, look down the isle of a big jet and watch it flex.

Independence does assigned seating. No cattle herding to get a seat! We flew them last month and they were great!!!

I have flown Independence Air fron Dulles to Dayton Ohio.

The trip was excellent ! I would fly them again in a minute.

They are Atlantic Coast Airlines (the people who were United Express until this summer at Dulles). Their staff knows the "ijet" (really a CRJ) since they have been flying them for years.

Seats are assigned.

My one word of warning - BE ON TIME

They board the plane and takeoff - no last minute stragglers.

I just booked Independence for a flight on Nov.10th (they start service out of Portland, Maine to Orlando through Dulles on Nov. 3rd). They offered great prices and it was easy to book online (plus I received a $25 discount on each ticket because I signed up for their iClub.)

I am a bit concerned that they may delay the start of their service and they won't be flying on 11/10. If that's the case, what would they do for all of the folks who had booked flights? Anyone know?

Emagirl, we just booked our tickets, we called them and ask the same question, their reponse was, they are going to fly, their service will not be cut!!!!!!nana2tots

Hi all-

When you booked your flight online did you get to select your seats?

I am leaning towards IA due to the fact all the ticket prices in Feb are outrageous! I normally do not like to do connecting flights with the kids (thats all I can find) but it will be worth it to save $$$

Thanks
Lisa

yes you get to choose your seating!!!!nana2tots

I would not woory about the service starting. They have met every rollout date since the started in June/July. We flew the week after they started the DAY route. I am so happy to hear about a non-stop to MOC from Dulles :Pinkbounc

Yes, you should be able to select seats. We got to choose our seats for our trip next month, AND the seat numbers show up every time I bring up the online confirmation (which, of course, I printed for a hard copy).

I was concerned about this too because I will be the lone adult on this trip and I didn't want my children to be seated anywhere but very near to me!

How was the service? Clean? Nice?

I'm thinking booking them for our trip next year. They sound great so far!

I used them last month to fly from JFK to RDU for a wedding last month. I'm making the same trip for the same reason this Friday. :sunny:

All of the staff I came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. The planes were clean.
I was very pleased with IA.
