Incredicoaster advice

Hi,
We are hoping to go to DIsneyland next August as a change from WDW (getting too expensive particularly flights)
I have a couple of questions:
Incredicoaster - how does it compare to the rides at WDW?
I like RnRC, BTMRR, tolerate EE and really do not enjoy Splash (due to the drop at the end) what will I think? I watched a video but still can’t gauge it.

How is the weather in August?
I see it’s very hot (I’m from UK, we walk around in shorts, when Florida residents are in hat, gloves and big coats) but is there a cooling breeze?
We have visited the area at Easter before and found it fine during the day but cool as soon as the sun went down!

I would say Incredicoaster is closest in intensity to Rock 'n Roller Coaster, but even slightly less intense than that. It's very smooth and lots of fun.

We’re often here in August, and I found “cooling breezes” to be extremely rare. We’re about to be going back home today after a four day trip. We were lucky in that it wasn’t as crazy hot as I remember it from some of our previous trips. It was pleasantly warm and overcast from 6am to about 10am, then getting intensely, oppressively hot and slowly cooling down with a very gentle breeze in the evening. I used my trusted UV-filter parasol (found that one online) for the intense midday heat. I’m very tall, which makes it easier to navigate a crowd with it without poking people. My 13-year old, who’s usually pretty heat tolerant, told me she definitely wants one too when we go again and how envious she was of my little bit of portable shade. I did bring a very light sweater, just in case it would get chilly at night, but even though we stayed out until after 10pm on most nights I never felt the need to use it. I had it with me in my bag the first night but then left it at the hotel for the rest of the trip.

Thank you, we tend to go out early Head back at lunchtime to the hotel and go back in the evenings. I’m hoping I won’t need a hoodie/jumper but may look for one of those parasols - I burn very easily so am coated in factor 50 sun cream!

A hoodie or light jacket/sweater can come in very handy if you will be watching any nighttime shows. It can get surprisingly chilly while waiting in the viewing areas by the water for WOC and F!. Being inactive for long periods while waiting can add to your heat loss. (Plus, it doesn't hurt to have something soft to sit on while waiting!)

Good point! Come to think of it—haven’t done much waiting by the water this trip but I do remember longing for another layer in previous years in exactly that situation.

Incredicoaster is comparable to RNRC as far as the launching and upside down part goes but it does also have some impressive drops with air time so if you don't like drops you may or may not enjoy it.

So-Cal weather is usually a bit cool in the morning and evening and then fairly hot during the day.

California does not have high humidity...most of the time. If a hurricane has recently broken up we do get the monsoonal moisture that can make it a bit sticky but not like FL. The ride back to the car at the end of the night in the parking lot tram can be downright cold. You might want to bring a light wind breaker just for that.

This exactly. My family loved Incredicoaster during the day...until they went on it at night! Now it's all about the night time rides because of the lighting effects.

YES! We have 3 of them and they are amazing. I got them on Amazon. You want to search "UV Blocking Umbrella." It should have a silver, foil like or black lining on the underside. They can be kind of heavy, but are completely worth carrying around. You will feel about 10-15 degrees cooler while standing under it. In CA in summer, it's not the AIR that is hot, but the actual sun. The air temp rarely goes above 90 unless we are having an extreme heat wave. We have had a couple heat waves lately, but temps didn't go above high 80s, for the most part. The sun feels brutal, though, if there happen to be no clouds in the sky.

Incredicoaster is sort of like a hybrid between RnRC and Everest, IMO. The speed is closer to Everest (I think top speed of IC is around 55mph), but there is only one loop, but several hills. It is far smoother than RnRC, and a very enjoyable ride with some great scenery. You should definitely try it. I agree that nighttime is the best time to ride. In the summer, the ideal time would be 8pm.

It does. It might help that it is made from a material designed to specifically filter out UV rays. I ordered it through the internet & tried to find the smallest possible size to not be too much of a nuisance to other visitors.

Of course! There are no restrictions on umbrellas in the parks. Lots of people use them in the summer, particularly Asian guests.

To me, Incredicoaster is a lot tamer than RnRC, and slightly tamer than EE, but it does have bigger drops and a loop. I'd probably put it around the level of EE, though. It's certainly smoother than RnRC.

Summer in Anaheim tends to be relatively cool in the AM and PM, and hot in the middle of the day. How the heat feels depends on where you live. It sounds like it will feel pretty hot to you. It doesn't to me, but that's because I live in a place with highs in the 90s and low 100s (F) all summer. It is not humid, but it's also not super dry or desert like. There is very often a cooling breeze, especially in the morning and at night. I'd just say plan accordingly. We just went to WDW in July, which is much hotter and more humid than what we're used to, and found midday breaks and eating meals in AC to be a life saver. We also used portable necklace fans and found those to be useful.
