I really can't believe it... I'm going back to WDW in December! After being there in July, I thought I wouldn't be back for quite some time, but, I guess I was wrong!
We are going because of my dad, who has to travel to WDW for business, and as chance would have it, it's in the Swan! (Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system:bounce: )
What I'm wondering is, has anyone been there recently? I've read about a $75 million renovation of the rooms, but what else has been renovated? The rooms look very nice, but since I've never stayed there, how is it? Is it like staying in a Disney resort? If anyone could answer at least some of these, I would really appreciate it!!! :earsboy: Thanks!!!!!

I can't answer any of your questions about the Swan (sorry). But I did want to say have a great time in December! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

The Swan is a lovely hotel and the grounds are beautiful.

However, maybe because it is a more business oriented hotel, I did feel that there was just a little something missing. There are fewer young children and it is quieter. The Dolphin was a bit more Disney-like...gift shops, laundry room, all-night Buffeteria, etc....lots more activity.

Other than that, we had a perfectly delightful time. The location can't be beat, the boats come regularly, the Boardwalk is just a short walk over the bridge and the pool area is very nice.

You will have a terrific time.

We just got back from the swan in aug. It is great. The beds are heavenly. Our room view was acceptable. We got the cheapest with govt. disc. The heavenly beds were good. The pink shampoo and oatmeal soap didnt go over well with our 3 ds. They did like the tv and the cool light switch right on the bed frame. It is quiet and the dolphin definetely is a little more active. THe pool and beach area is awesome. You can do water volleyball, beach volleyball and they have basketball courts too. The boats come with a covered waiting area unlike the yacht and beach club. If you want a refillable mug you have to walk all the way over to the dolphin to get it. We chose to do gatorade in the room instead, less of a hassle. Palios smelled so good. Wish we had time for it. Also those swan boats looked so cute. Didnt have time for that too. We did see a glimpse of illuminations from our room. One minus was not being able to charge anything in the parks, if you are use to charging things on the disney resort card. I would suggest perhaps disney dollars. I am doing this next time. With the funny money I think the kids will keep the spending down. You are right next to the boardwalk too. Just perfect for nightime entertainment and dining options. You can walk across the street for the mini golf and walk into the epcot international gateway. The swan is the first bus stop. You wont however see mickey jumping out at you. They do have a small character breakfast or dinner I believe. The restraunt looked totally empty and it was seafood buffet night. They have a sushi place that has karaoke too. Heard the resorts are decorated nicely for the holidays. Enjoy your trip. There is also a free coffee maker and coffee in the room. You could use the hot water and bring your own hot cider or hot chocolate packs or even cup of noodles

Better than a disney resort...better beds, better bedding, great restaurants, nicer room amenities. You are going to love it!

Thanks everyone! Even though we didn't have a choice in deciding where we would stay, this seems to be one of the best around WDW, so, we're not disappointed. Thanks again!
