OK so I have booked 9 days at SS for November 1 - 9/13 which is NOT my first choice! I am waitlisting for WL and GF for all 9 nine days. 3 of the days I want are available at GF but they are in the middle of my vacation and I do not want to pack up move for 3 days then pack up and move again. I do have enough points left over to book the 3 days at GF but I understand I cannot double book days under the same name. So i was wondering if I could book those days under someone else's name to increase my chances of getting my wait list at GF and then cancel them if the rest of the days don't come through. Also if I did that and the days DID come through would I be able to put the days at GF back into my name or is this "work around" considered too sneaky and unfair?

I do not want to step on any toes so thought I would run it by all you for some honest feedback...

home resort is AK (so wishing I had not bought there - too far away!!)

If you have the points available, you can book the three GF nights. Nothing wrong with that.

However you'll have to decide how exactly to modify the waitlist request. A waitlist is only met if ALL of the requested nights are available simultaneously. Getting 9 consecutive nights anywhere off of the waitlist can be challenging--particularly on less than 4 months notice.

If you book those 3 nights in the middle, you could change your waitlist so that one request covers the nights BEFORE that GF stay and the other covers the nights AFTER. If one of those two is met, at least you'll only have to move once.

Given the small size of GF (and Wilderness Lodge), I think the odds of this working are less than 50/50. Your dates include "Jersey Week" which is perhaps the busiest non-holiday week at Walt Disney World.

You will be hard pressed to get a wait list filled for longer stays. I also would not depend on the wait list process filling my request, I would check inventory daily.

I would also sell your AKV and buy where you love to stay.

I feel that getting 9 days anywhere on a waitlist will be almost impossible.
I agree that your best chance would be to book the nights that are available at GF and then use your 2 wait lists for the nights before and after cancelling those nights off your Saratoga reservation if they book. The chances of at least one of those coming through are better than 9.
Then if only one part matches you will then have a longer stay at GF and only have to move once.

Your chances of success are far more at WL than GF I'd think. Since you have extra points, book any days that come available then try to fit together additional days 1-2 at a time. Once you get something, put in a new WL for additional days. Also check on line as rooms tend to be available for some time before the WL is checked.
