Increase min. pt. buy-in @BLT: True or Flase?

The minimum add-on for BLT is being raised to 100 pts, so you won't be able to do 25 pt addons there after Jan 15, 2009.

I got a mailer today.

It didn't say anything about an increase or decrease in the minimum number of points to buy-in.

Perhaps they are beginning to put the squeeze on those purchasing 25 point contracts for the DVC Perks? Hmmmm will be interesting to watch as time goes on..

If true, that would increase the resale value of all my 50-point BLT contracts!

Wonder if down the road Disney might exercise ROFR on all of these smaller ones?

......, but I REALLY wanted to be able to stay at BLT at least one night each trip......

I posted on another BLT thread but my guess on this is that lots of people want to do small add on's at BLT with just enough points for 1 or two nights. That would mean a lot of checking in / checking out and housekeeping at the resort so perhaps by raising the minimum here to 100 points people are more likely to stay for a minimum of 4 -5 nights

If adding on 100 points, I wonder if it would be better to add 4 - 25 point contracts or 2 - 50 point contracts. Part of me says the 25 point contracts may bring a better resale in the future and give me more options and part of me says 25 is too small for a BLT add on and that 50 would be better. Any thoughts?

Not necessarily. They might allow you to break it up as long as you meet the total. They might not but they still may. It had to happen sometime as it likely was never really a good choice on their part for them to allow such small contracts.

I got one too. It also said they were raising the price per point at AKV to $112 after Jan 15.

See, I have been waiting for some sort of rule that would prevent those 25 point resales. I think you might be right about the maddness behind this method. It wont stop anyone from buying those small contracts to other resorts, but I think it might be a harbinger of things to come there as well. If too many people are buying in with 25 point contracts and nothing more, I'm sure they want to nip that trend in the bud!
