Hi! We are seriously thinking of buying DVC this year when we go in the summer. We did all the tours, etc. last year, but we weren't ready to buy then. Now with our dollar doing so well, if we are going to do it, I think this is the year.

I remember reading there are really good incentives to buying on the cruise - we are doing a 4 day cruise after our WDW trip - should we wait until we are on the ship to buy???

Most of the time, I do think that the cruises have a few extra dollars off, especially if you are buying more than 200 points.

Of course, you always have the option of buying when you are there and then going on the cruise. If the incentives are better, just cancel the first set and re-do them with the better incentives.

If they are not, then you already have the ball in motion. Just tell your guide when visiting WDW what your thoughts are and he/she may be able to find out before you leave.

Good luck!!

The incentives are always stronger on the cruise its the best place to purchase as a first time buyer as well as the best place to add on. We were just on over Spring Break and I am seriously kicking myself for not adding on and taking advantage of the incentives that were offered to me!!!

Do you mind telling what the incentives were? We did the info session on the cruise, but it seems the same thing was offered when we went to WDW right when we returned....

We are seriously considering.....so just trying to make sure we get the best we can......

We were on the Magic March 6th, and went to the presentation on board.... We were offered a free cruise ranging from 4-7 days based on the number of points bought. Alternately, you could opt to take a discount off of the price per point. On the ship, we were offered $12 off. We decided NOt to buy then, and kicked ourselves once we got off of the ship.

Fast forward, we arrive home to California, and sign up for the presentation at the Villas at the Grand Californian on Easter Day. Not only were we offered the SAME EXACT cruises, but we were offered $17 off per point this time. We ended up being glad that we waited.... We bought that day! 200 pts at VGC.... Hope you join us soon...
