Incentives for adding on direct when resale owner

Hi all,

I am currenlty a DVC member with a resale contract (300 points at Saratoga) and looking into adding by buying 150 points at Riviera - directly from Disney, so I can have the blue card and use some of my points at Riviera and upcoming new resorts.

When I log onto the DVC website, you can see the current incentives for buying direct, $ 6 discount from 150 points, $ 7 from 175 points and so on.

Also; when I log into my 'Discovery Portal'; until recently it showed higher incentives / discounts for when you're already a member and add on direct points, so that's great.

However; since recently, that part of the website is blocked for me and "only available to select Member types".

Does this mean you'll only get the extra add on incentives when you're already a direct member, or would I be albe to get this as well, currently being a resale member - as it showed on their website until a few weeks ago?

Does anyone know what the direct incentives are for sold out resorts? I see on the member portal it says to reach out to a guide. I was curious about AKL.

I experienced the same problem recently. When I try to access the Add on Tool, it gives me the same error message. When I asked Member Services through chat on two different occasions, it seemed they couldn't understand my question, always trying to push me to talk to sales. I tried to insist that my question was technical, but it didn't work. I thought being a resale member I wouldn't be able to add on through the website, only by calling. Maybe that's the case so that the sale goes to one of the guides. Oh well, not much available cash around anyway. Just curious.

Since 3 months I am a direct member as well and that part of the website still isn't visible anymore for me.

However, I was able to get the extra member incentives back in November while 'only' being a resale member at SRR at that time. So for 150 at RVA, I was able to get those for $ 190.- instead of $ 201.- with the incentives they had back then. I don't think the incentives are currently as good tho.
