Incentives changing June 15/09 - we added on at BLT quickly with this news

Our guide's outbound voicemail message states that current incentives are changing on June 15/09 and that the price of BLT is also going up.

DH and I also talked to her in person on Monday and she said that BLT is selling so well and so fast that DVC expects it to sell out faster than anticipated - perhaps within 2 months. She's been close to the mark before with her estimates on selling out. They are hoping to drive the sales of their other 3 resorts a bit higher while slowing down sales on BLT.

We were eager to buy even without this news. We bought 100 points of BLT this Monday to celebrate our 15th anniversary while we were in Walt Disney World. Now we can stay in a studio at BLT for 10 nights (with Magic Kingdom view) in our favorite seasons every 2 years!

While we were buying BLT at the SSR sales center, we noticed that it was way busier than we'd ever seen it. It was 10AM. I can't imagine how they could be so busy that early in the morning on weekday. We also met a couple who were also buying that day - they bought 500 points (new members) and were just thrilled with their decision. They asked to talk to current members (before signing) and our guide steered them in our direction for a friendly chat. Our chats cemented their decision and we shook their hands as they became new owners walking out of SSR.



We actually waitlisted for BCV points - and they came available quickly - but we turned them down for BLT instead. We absolutely adore BLT! We ate at The Wave and used the coffee stand in the CR's lobby. The amenities here can't be beat. What a gem!

Honestly I do not know how DVC is selling SSR at all when there is about a 30 dollar difference in price per point between DVC and resale.

Me too!!! After staying at Kidani during opening weekend we decided we would LOVE to add on more AKV points! But only if we got a good deal and some very good incentives.

Well with the "speculaters" back in the oil bizz and gas creaping up ever so slightly I would say we could experience a minor setback on the recovery this summer. I am a goverment employee and was told today the State cut our budget 1.3 million dollars. AMAZING what a "little speculating" will do to a slow economy, so bad the County is considering, can't believe I'm saying it, Bankruptcy. If other States are doing this I would lean towards not selling out in 2 months. Shawn

Perhaps I've missed it, but has all of BLT been declared? Wouldn't that be necessary if they were in the final two months of sales? I think I'll offer a wager as well - I bet more than two months. Maybe someone can make a killing on WilsonFlyer and myself.

This is the portion of DV's thread that blows me away. Can BLT be selling *that* well that DVC would actually raise the price as well as doing away with the incentives?? In this economy? Yikes and double yikes!

I'll definitely be stalking the Boards June 14th for some early-breaking rumors!

Too funny - but I think this would add more shock value :

Disney in plans to fill in part of Bay Lake to build new tower at it's new DVC resort........

I'm surprised that with Disney being the marketing geniuses that they are they haven't tried this yet to boost sales at SSR given that BLT is "supposedly" selling so well. They should have re-branded the THVs at BLT East (or North, Sout, or West whichever direcction it should be) to see if they could get any takers.....

It has just been confirmed that the incentives are changing on June 15th - which will mean that the cash discounts of up to $21 per point and the free DCL cruises are going bye-bye.

Not likely - that would be suicidal. Some incentives will get slightly better, some will get slightly worse, and the net prices will almost certainly remain pretty much the same.

But I see you started a separate thread saying the same thing -- you must be really excited about the incentives changing

LOL - I saw that Mike had been told that when he added on. I almost posted the same question/comment on that thread. I still have not seen anyone mention that all the units have been declared and they would almost certainly had to be to be in the final month. The last I heard not even 1/2 of the units had been declared but I haven't followed up on it either.

I'd also think DVC would be officially playing up the quickest sell-out ever and would have announcements all over the place about it being your last chance. I haven't seen anything to that effect either.

So - do you want to take my bet? I'm sticking to it!
