for your thoughts and prayers. I will keep you posted. He is the second surgery in the morning on Monday. My father has a very positive attitude towards the whole thing, which is great that should help him and his recovery.

Buzz, great links, better not show Lynn that list or she will have me looking for inflatable clothes hangers. Then I would have to bring a compressor to inflate them.

It has been snowing here so dreaming of the islands is really easy.

well if you been reading up on this gruop and still post you must have started the boonesfarm already???????????? we are shirly a differt bunch (right joe????)

For anyone who booked their own excursions in Cozumel, how are you getting to them?

I'm leaning heavily toward Xcaret. DD is supposed to do a report on the Mayan ruins, and DH thinks a whole day of ruins will be "BORING, just looking at old rocks". So Xcaret looks like there will be other options, but let her fill her school requirement. Disney wants $99 apiece for 10 and older and $69 for younger. DD is 10, so I'd have to pay full price for her. I went to Xcarets page, and the entrance is something like $40 for over 12 and $26 for 3-12. Now I can't believe that transportation and lunch is worth the difference. BUT before I write off Disney's package, I'd like to have some concept of how to get there? Are taxis easy to get, or do we have to take a water ferry somehow?

I'm also thinking about just taking a taxi to the San G something ruins that are on the ruins and beach tour. The web page says entry is only a few bucks. After we finished there, we'd just poke around Cozumel, and maybe try to find a beach.

Help!!

Actually...

I've done my own research on Xcaret...

Not sure what you are looking at but with transportation from Playa del Carmen (which is where you get the ferry to) is 75 and 38 (adult child respectively) The ferry over has got to be at least 10 per person (probably more) and I've heard that the food is very expensive (lunch is included with the excursion). Also, excursion people have the priority i have heard with the transportation. Not sure exactly what that means but I read it on the cruisecritic forum. After much consideration we just went with the Disney excursion. They also let you off of the boat earlier.

Anyway that is just my opinion. If you decide to do Xcaret on your own, we can compare expenses later and see what the benefit is for future cruisers.

tdk Lisa:

We're still looking for people to fill up a plane tour to Chichen Itza and it leaves directly from Cozumel!:)

However, the cost is $160/person :(

Anyway, let me know if you're interested.

:D

P.S. Still working on the Countdown Timers - gettin' close - just 2 more bugs to fix before I run it past the moderators.

Joe,

Just a note to tell ya tha Digital Album arrived yesterday. Wish I would have known I needed an adaptor for the Smartmedia card. Que lastima..... Mia Culpa...

How can I pack when I'm not done shopping??????????????
No lie, I bought another pair of shoes today. Hey, they were on sale!!!!

Got the DS a couple of tank tops and I got more sunscreen. The DH and I burn like crazy but the boy, well, we might have had trouble getting him out of Mexico if we didn't have his passport!!!!:D It's only been warm a week here and the boy is already brown as dirt!!!

TnRobin, good for you with all the dresses fitting!!!!! I'm dieting up until the day we leave for Florida. Then hopefully, all will be baggy in the beginning of the cruise and fit just right when we fly back home!!;) I plan on eating every morsel I am offered!!

The boy is starting to get excited about all this. I walked in his room last night and caught him tryin on his new swimsuit and flip-flops. Too cute. He's really stylin!! :smooth:

Well, best be goin for now,
ScottH, I hope it stops snowin out there, it's been in the 90's here for a week now.

Hasta la Vista Babeeeeeees!!

Terry (AKA Mrs Marcos) LOL I almost typed something to that effect. I am just too reserved here.

Still having snow showers and rain mixed, yuck...

Hopefully I can make cruise chat tonight.

Jim if we were not diving we would consiider the trip to Chicken nickers. Actually it is a great site and very facinating. We were there about a year ago. Try to get some of the history and archetecual info before you visit.

I love Disney Cruise, our thoughts are with ya. Make sure he follows the doc's orders. I know of a couple of guys and my grand mother who have had the procedure and all commented that immediately after the stint was in place they felt so much better.

Jennifersmith23,

My oldest was very pleased to hear that another little girl her age from Florida was going. She is kind of shy, but hopefully they will become fast friends>

My younger daughter is also pleased to hear that the twins will be in her group. She has a set of twins and her preschool class and has quite a facination with children of multiple birth.

To those discussing Xcaret...my husband and I honeymooned in Cancun 9 years ago and traveled there on a bus tour. It was pretty, the beach area is small, but beautiful. Don't remember the food, the drinks were good (maybe that's why I don't remember the food) Snorkeling the underground river was a fun experience, the water is like 55 degrees....have a picture of us coming out with blue lips. I have a faint memory of a museum and gift shop. Have fun.

I too have started sorting clothes...we however are already wearing all of our sundresses and shorts because it is in the high 80's this month. Trying to coordinate my own wardrobe with the girls, they like that. Trying to narrow it down to 3 pairs of shoes...wish my luck.

Imelda Marcos LOL Thats what Dh call me. Went out last weekend and bought 8 pair of shoes, in all fairness I have 2 girls.
He said, you aren't going to bring all those shoes, what about the ones you have from last year and never wore LOL. I just can't help myself when it comes to shoes and I wear the most comfortable ones all the time.

Well 3 weeks from today and we are off and vacationing.

DH just got back from Orlando and it was hotter here 96 degrees than Orlando which he said was in the 80's all week. He said he drove down to the pier, but all ships were out, it was on Tuesday he went.
I asked him, did you stop and see Shirley? He replied, who's Shirley? No offense Shirley. Guess you can figure out he NEVER reads these boards.

See you all real soon:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

GUESS WHAT ?????????????????????????
everyone has things all packed and those that have no room to pack any more WELL i can only guess that

I Love Disney Cruise - our prayers are with you & your father. My brother had a triple bypass about 6 weeks ago. He was out of the hospital in 5 days! Just got a release to do "whatever he wants - within reason". Just be sure your father does what the doctor says.
Packing - well, everything is purchased that had to be purchased. Suitcases are ready to receive the clothes. Just a matter of putting the stuff in.
Welcome nervousnelly - we're down near West Palm.

ONLY 21 DAYS!!! ::Pinkbounc :bounce: ::Pinkbounc :bounce:

Terry,

I am not sure who is more like Imelda, you or I. I have cut back on my cruise clothes over the past 3 cruises, but can't seem to reduce the number of shoes. I am serious, I will be taking one bag - carry-on size full of nothing but shoes. Of course that is everyone's shoes (mine, DH and DS) but you can guess who has the most.

Remind me to show you my Cinderella shoes I just got for my formal. I wish they were truely glass slippers with diamonds, but I guess clear vinyl with rhinestones will just have to do. ;)

Robin... Can't wait to see the Cinderella shoes. I am doing the same thing as far as using a separate carry on just for shoes.

3 more weeks

you take a couple of days off and the whole place falls apart

whats the deal any way

thanks cmatt i might miss the boat now

cmatt: As far as the timers go, check out the following thread for an explanation:

Moderator Post

I'm still trying to get them back working. I'm working on a solution and I only have 1.5 bugs left (the .5 because I solved it, but don't like the way it works now - programmers are like that). I'll let everyone know when and if the Moderators approve the new solution. :D

HAVE FUN!!!

- Jim

BunnyMom:

Thanks for the support! :D

Actually, I just finished and am about to upload the solution so the moderators can review it. Mr. J. Cricket won't be back around until Monday, so I don't expect anything this week.

I still have that .5 bug - it bugs me that I can't get it working EXACTLY the way I want, but that's just the programming perfectionist in me!

Hopefully ya'll (there's that word again! :) ) will be able to use your 'New and Improved' Countdown Timers next week (can't give details in case they reject the solution :( )

Have a great weekend everyone! :D

- Jim

P.S. Just a peek: the 'New and Improved' Countdown Timer says we have:

21 days 13 hrs. 38 mins. 23 secs.
