Inaugural Disney Wine&Dine**1/2 Marathon** Post Race Discussion!

Ugh!!!

Have been planning this trip for months -- booked BCV on March 1 -- exactly seven months out. Booked my flight just a couple of weeks after that. Training is going great -- never thought I'd get this far. Made sure to tell the in-laws many time of the date so they can watch the kids. Saturday night we were discussing it again and my MIL infrms us that they will be going to my SILs house in Pennsylvania that weekend to watch her kids! Apparently, even though we have discussed it with them for months, they never wrote the date down on their calendar and when SIL called they accepted :sad2:

Now I am freaking out over what to do...

thanks for letting me vent!

Oh no!! as a mom I know how frustrating that can be!! Running gives us the time and fitness we need to get through another day! We need this kind of time to survive being a mom!!

I wish I could help in some way other than just sympathy..

YIPEE!!! :woohoo:

I am bib 5599 good round number and 5's are a lucky number for me ;)

Ok..at first was bummmed cause I was hoping for the #4 somewhere....my lucky # since 4th grade...ok..TMI..lol
My HM # is 6285

628...June 28...The day DH and I got married at the Poly in 2003
628...June 28...Our DD4 Ava Grace was born in 2006!!
Still TMI....lol..But I love it!

I'm # 7000. 7's my lucky number. Was hoping for 7777 (that's my bday), but I'll take 7000.

I was #666 for the Columbus half marathon one year. Luckily I am not superstitious but I guess the race computer was because I am number #665 in their database.

That would have freaked me out. Funny that the computer was superstitious. Maybe you have a 6 thing going on now that you're 64? P.S. I'm ridiculously jealous that you can run so fast you get a double digit number.

Oh, and I'm assuming at this point, I just need to wait to the expo to bring proof of time?

Woo hoo! This thread has reached 100 pages! LOL!

I am number 8035 ... I guess that is because I entered a time lower than 2:45 but I actually was wrong in calculating my time and couldnt provide a proof of time...oh well...I am super excited to be running at all :goodvibes

Did she enter a predicted time quicker than 2:45 and not submit a link for proof of time?

Good question. I know she feels she'll do it in around 2:20 but I'm not sure what she predicted when she signed up and I'm sure she didn't submit proof of time. :confused3

Just updating after getting words of encouragement.
I posted earlier how badly I was feeling after my 11.25 mile run.
Well it got worse and then thankfully better.
That night I woke up with chills and my knees hurt SO much. I was really worried.
Luckily Sunday morning I felt better. Today I feel even better. I have a few sore muscles but not too bad.

So, I believe I will survive 13. But I can't say I'm not nervous. I really want to run (a very slow 12 mph) the whole thing, that's how I've trained, no stopping no walking. So that's my goal, I just hope if there is to be pain - that I can run through it.

BTW - my bib is 4202.
I did not submit a time, but I did do a 10k on labor day with a 10:44 pace. Don't ask me how I pulled that out! Do you think that's worth bringing for a better corral time?
Thanks for giving me lots to read to pass the time and calm my nerves:)

And that may be proof that if you submit a time below the threshold and fail to submit a proof time that the do put you in the last corral; at least be numbers observed so far. I always wondered.

You could but honestly if you are looking to run a slow time then why not stay in your current corral or even slide back some? Just my thoughts. You are probably in a great position to not feel the urge to pushout quickly.

I am 6052 and John is 6041! Now it really feels close!

 6501 for me! I don't know why, but for some reason it feels like a big relief to finally have this information.
