Inaugural 3/31/12 Fantasy Cruise

John and I are thinking of driving to Papenburg to see the Fantasy before our 2011 WBTA in September cruise. First, we fly to Frankfurt and will then drive to Frankfurt. We can rent a car in Frankfurt and drop it off in Barcelona. We are making a plan then to drive from Papenburg, stay in Dijon overnight, then drive to Barcelona. Our friends in Europe say this is a doable journey. Anybody have any comments?

Are you absolutely sure that you will be able to see her? I wouldn't make that trip unless I was sure.

Hi!! We just booked on the maiden voyage (and I just requested to join the FB group!)

We have not been on a Disney cruise yet, but are experienced RCCL cruisers. Before the Fantasy we will be on the Dream 11/20/11 cruise....SO EXCITED!!

Cruising with me will be my DH and DD (11 at the time) and DS (7 then).

I can't wait to get to know all of you before the cruise!!!

WE DID IT!!!

We are booked for the cruise. Didn't get the GTY, it was gone, but we think we will have a nice room. I think every room is going to be nice.
I can't believe we are going on the Maiden Voyage!! This is just too cool
There will be 3 of us, me denise, my DH Jimmy and our DD Eleni. Eleni will be 22 at the time of this cruise. She's not even 21 yet and it sounds so weird to say she will be 22. I, on the other hand, will not be older.
It will be our 9th cruise...so close....

Can't comment on the journey but we travelled to Papenburg from Delft with friends before the 2010 WBTA. We saw the Dream under construction, however the whole tour is in German. We didn't realy pick up much from the tour the highlight was being able to see the ship.

Are you sure that you got the 10% discount? We have all been told that it is not available for this cruise. You might want to get a quote online and compare or call CS to confirm.

Yeah are you sure. I transferred an onboard booking and paid full price, no discount and 20% deposit. I'd reprice it online to check.

Ludari - Welcome aboard! I was wondering if you can confirm that you received the 10% discount. Since it's a maiden voyage, I was told the discount doesn't apply, but you do get the OBC. We also had to pay the full deposit amount, versus the 10% deposit amount. So I am curious if you really got the discount or not. If you don't mind, can you either double check the pricing online, or let us know what you paid for how many adults and kids in which cat? I just booked a few weeks ago, and would love to be able to push back on the discount part. Thanks!

What gave it away? Was it the 6 of us who all posted at the same time asking the same "are you sure?" question??

My mistake folks. I did not receive a discount and I did have to pay a 20% deposit for this cruise. I did however received the $200.00 OBC. I priced a few cruises before selecting this one and got my information mixed up. It must have been that large dinner at Palo's that clouded my mind.

ROFL!!! No worries. Believe me when I say that most of us were hoping that you had gotten the 10% so that we could bargain with DCL.
