Inaugural 3/31/12 Fantasy Cruise

We still haven't decided. We have Gear for myself and DH, not DS. Plus DH is worried about over packing (ROFL!!) ok, a) I am a woman and in charge of packing - OF COURSE THERE WILL BE OVER PACKING! b) it is DISNEY and a CRUISE - OF COURSE THERE WILL BE OVER PACKING!

No, No, No. Don't overpack; Under pack. If you only pack the costumes then you will just HAVE TO buy all that new MV/Inaugural Clothing just to have something to wear... :goodvibes

You know you are going to buy it anyway, might as well wear it too. :thumbsup2

I am going to totally over pack too. Still have not decided if we are bringing the Captain Hook costume yet. DD did see a pirate costume at Toys R Us a few weeks ago and I told her I would get it for her for the cruise.

We will be dressing up in our full pirate outfit.

hi there, I wanted to do a quick poll regarding dressing up as pirates for Pirate night.

My husband and I are disney fanatics and LOVE dresing up for pirate night, but the last cruise we were on (Holiday Cruise Dec'10) I'd say less than half of the passengers had dressed up and half of those only did so half-heartedly. Given this MV is going to be mostly Plat and Gold, does that mean more people (the majority I hope) will be putting on proper pirate gear? I'm forcing my kids and mom to dress up but they are a bit leary as to whether other people actually do this, or if I'm just trying to trick them into doing it.

So, for those on this forum, who is and who isn't dressing up? and, what are your thoughts as to what the Pirate population wil be on MV Fantasy pirate night?

thanks!

We were going to go all out with costumes, but have decided that they will stay home this time around. We're going to be bringing other things back with us that we've been missing (that cast iron skillet is gonna weigh LOTS!). It will be good to see everyone else dressed up though.

Michael

We will be in full regalia! In January I just brought our hats and I wished later we had our full costumes.
It is a hassle to pack; DH isn't too thrilled, but I am, so he goes along:lovestruc. The first time he wore everything he wouldn't leave the stateroom without his sunglasses on.:cool2: (I guess he felt he could hide behind them?:rotfl2:). He is not shy anymore and he did get a kick out of being "dressed".
We brought a pirate flag and draped it around our table this last trip. I borrowed it from some friends. This could be a good alternative to dressing for some as it was super easy to bring and the ship provides bandanas.
All in all it seems everyone has a good Arrrrrghpirate: time no matter what they wear.

I don't have a clue as to the percentage of passengers that will dress up. :confused3 But I think there will be a good amount. pirate:pirate:pirate: Maybe people didn't have room in their suitcases on the Holiday cruise? I know I bring a lot more clothes for the holiday.

I only remember a couple nights available for Remy at midnight when Gold could book. Platinums were posting that Palo was gone prior to that.

Also, please remember to PM me when you send a request to join the FB group.

I was playing with the site that nite while we were waiting. I thought it was a Palos for an odd number like 3, but I could be mistaking it for Remys.

I will be wearing my full pirate costume....my Mom on the other hand will be wearing a Pirate t-shirt and black pants....

You reminded me that we have a Jolly Roger flag from our 2006 cruise. We used it on pirate night, as well as clipping it to an umbrella to mark the spot for the DIS group at CC.

This idea has been discussed on the FB page and it looks like it is going to happen. The only question is who will be participating. This was brought up because many will be traveling home or heading to WDW after the cruise, and most egg hunts occur the weekend before Easter, so kids on the cruise will have missed those. You are just asked to bring 12 filled plastic eggs for each child participating, and each child will be able to find 12 eggs. We are not sure where this will be held yet, but can pass that information on once it is confirmed onboard. Please post if you would be interested in having your kids participate in an Easter egg hunt to be held onboard Thursday between 1 pm & 3 pm. [Not that entire time, this is only the timeframe that takes into account CBs, brunch resies, tea with princesses/Alice/whoever and getting ready for semiformal night. It can be held no matter how many kids would participate.

Depending on how many sign up, the ages can be broken up as follows:
ages 3 and under
ages 4-6
ages 7-9

It has been suggested that a there be a scavenger hunt for kids 10 and older who want to participate and they can claim their goodies at the end of the hunt. In that case we can decide on a similar prize to be brought for each child participating.

You can post on this thread with the number of kids and their ages who would be participating, or pm me with the information. If you already posted on FB, you do not need to repeat here. Thanks!

Hit my cruise goal weight. Now onto my Nov. cruise weight. My next cruise does not seem that far away anymore. Definitely will need to buy new clothes by then. :cool1:

Last call for Leigh W. to pm me with your information. I have a FB request from her and have not heard from anyone. Thank you.

We will be in full garb, that would be a group of 3 or 4 (not sure if Linda will be pirate"d" our or not!)

I was at Liberty State Park to watch the Fantasy come past the Statue of Liberty - froze my "hhmmmm"s off, but it was SO worth it. then I went into the city to pick up friends who came across onboard. They were telling me there is still a lot of work to be done, but she is amazing. I was at the port and have taken lots and lots of photos. The way the NYC port is set up, one can be directly in front of the ship and I got a few neat photos. Once I get organized :rolleyes1 I will try to post a few. (oh..that means I have to locate my photobucket account...sigh)
