Inappropriate topic 420?

I apologize for the OT post, but I felt like this needed a response.

Why does me asking what it is worry you more than people smoking pot?
Because people smoking pot at WDW doesn't do any lasting harm. Your ignorance of world-changing events is indicative of the apathy of a large number of youth in our society.
Ok my friend Josh told me and he didn't even really know.
See above...
Again why should I know where this place is?
Because what's happening in Fallujah is vastly more important to the future of our society than what's happening at WDW.
I'm not there. I will never go there.
Unless, of course they reinstate the draft. You're about the right age, correct?
You're worried about me not knowing about this place (and no I do not support the war) but like 16% of the US is illiterate (and I'm not talking all the immigrants) and like 75% of the kids in school today can't name all the capitals of all the US states.
I'm not so much worried about you as I am about the future of this country.

Well, though I have never smelled it, it wouldn't bother me. Might make me a little jealous. FWIW, I would rather be in the presence of some tokers under the influence than drinkers under the influence. I find it amusing that we denounce the smoking of a doobie but have no problem 'Drinking around the World' or 'Drinking around the Monorail'.

I understand what a lot of people are saying about not caring what people do behind closed doors. However, we are not talking about closed doors. Does anyone on this thread really believe that smoking pot is an OK thing to do in front of children?

I am the right age, but I have psychotic tendencies... they wouldn't send me.

The irony of this comment is I had asked the many doctors of psychology and sociology who I do research with... and none of them knew what I was talking about. Might I add, they aren't youthful. Of course perhaps I was pronoucing "Fallujah" wrong and thats why they didn't catch on.

Hey! I have an idea! How 'bout you drop it and get on topic! kthx.

Marijuana at WDW = Bad. It's really not rocket science.

so the pot smoking issue at dw is or may be true whats next we will see grandma sitting on a bench in the MK smoking this is getting out of hand that first of all disney would not believe that someone is smoking pot. they are more worried about the regular smokes not smoking in the assigned spots which i have seen many times then smoking pot its ILLEGAL

I have smelled it at WDW several times and have yet to actually see the smoker but am certain it was pot. As far as the legal status of pot, or any other controlled substance and it's discussion here I have always had a clear seperation in my mind. Morals vs Law. While an individual may make all the arguements they want about how pot is not bad for them and they should have all the freedom in the world to smoke it I say go for it, you will get no arguement from me. But if the jurisdiction you are in at the time you partake in your pot has a law that says its illeagal then be prepared to suffer any consiquinces if you are caught. In my mind the two arguements are totally seperate. The law is the law, and our form of government allows you to try and bring about change if you think the current laws are wrong or unjust. However until such time as the actual laws on the books are changed then whatever your trying to change might still be illeagal. In my opinion the idea that alcohol and tobacco is legal, with restrictions, and pot is illeagal is stupid. We are partially legislating morality. Either a society should be all for the idea that wer'e going to protect you from yourself or not. If society does decide to outlaw alcohol and tobacco because its bad for you then what next, a tax for obiesity? Even in a society such as the Netherlands where pot can be openly bought and smoked in coffee houses the act of the coffee house buying it from growers or suppliers is illeagal. How goofy is that? We acknowledge you buying it and smoking it and thats okay but when Joe the local grower shows up for his weekly delivery if we catch you handing him the cash then we can arrest him. I lived in Calgary at one point in my life and there prostitution is legal, with one caviate. If you are seen or heard discussing the act and agreeing to the cost of said transaction then they can arrest you for soliciting prostitution or being the prostitute. Once the deal is arranged everything that happend from there is legal. WTH! Does any reasonable individual think that part B (the act itself) would ever happen without part A (agreeing to the deal)?

Smoking pot (in the Netherlands) or prostitution (in Calgary) should be either legal, or illeagal period end of sentence. Its like its a little illeagal but not completely. Forget about it, its like being pregnant, you either are or are not, no one is just a little pregnant.

Many years ago I saw a young couple partaking right in front of the castle. I grew up in the 60's, :hippie: so at the time I kinda laughed it off. Thinking about it now, I would say they should have tried to be a little more discreet.

Also many many years ago; I personally know someone who got kicked out of MK for smoking pot on Tom Sawyers Island. He was taken behind the scenes and yelled at and told to never come back.

I've got a better idea. Learn some manners.
Is this how you raise your post count?

I think the OP asked if anyone else had noticed..and several have replied they had..they didn't ask for a debate and nasty comments to be exchanged between each other. Can't people discuss "nicely" anymore without personal jabs at each other????????? Just reading the last 10 posts or so, things seem to be turning ugly......
If DIS threads can't handle mug re-using threads and pool hopping threads without fights breaking out, lol? I doubt this one will stay open much longer...

I've noticed it VERY rarely at DLR, but i've never gone to WDW. Im going there in september!! :) :). At Disneyland, of the 8 times i've been there, offhand i would say i've noticed it less than 10. That's very little considering how many people there are, and I notice more cigars, which are far more odorous. I presume WDW is similar.

There'll always be people doing that kind of thing, and I won't be one to get worked up about it. All smokers anger me a bit if I have to deal with their smoke, I don't care which type it is. Nothing worth getting upset about though and spoiling a part of your vacation or someone else's.

You signed something when you joined the DIS. It told you that you aren't allowed to start personal attacks, but yet you feel the need?

Here's an even better idea. You may be older than I am, but that shouldn't give you a right to talk crap to me. I will tell anyone, on the DIS, in my real life, if they are in the wrong...and that's despite their age.

DUDE!!! lightn' up man. This is the Disney message board. I don't think the war in Fallujah is going to get much debate here. :goodvibes

At Pop Century, this fellow was smoking pot a home-made pipe on the stairs. But that's the only time I've ever noticed it,

They had a rpoblem with that back in the 60's at Disneyland. Tom Sawyers Island started filling up with smoke, turns out there was a bunch of hippies that got together and decided to go smoke some pot at Disneyland.

Well, apparently the troups from the teen board have been gathered.
Ok, I give up.
They say ignorance is bliss. You should all be very happy.
:thumbsup2
BTW, if there's a personal attack here, report the post. I'm more than happy to defend what I posted to a mod.

Ahhh.. I will appologize to all.. it was my ignorance of what Fallujah was that started all this.

HAHAH You know what this post reminds me of (the question of smelling pot in WDW)? How many of you see the movie Dazed and Confused? Well in it Adam Goldberg's character walks past the 50's greeser kid and says something like "someones smoking some weed" and then the greeser kid gets all offened and starts stuff with Adam Goldberg.

I apologize as well.
I didn't mean to hijack the thread. I guess the teacher in me just wants to make kids think. Sometimes I pick the wrong time and place to do that...
