In your opinion what is the most overrated thing in WDW?

I'll add in tent camping any day of the year. That just isn't a way to vacation to me. Not at Disney at least. There are times for a tent trip but it's not Disney. Tent camping is work all on it's own. Combine that with an exhausting trip to Disney and I can't imagine how you get any rest

I don't see it as hard work...I mean, you set up the tent and walk to the bathrooms, what's hard about either? Everything else like cooking and Christmas decorations is optional. (And it's so much more quiet than a motel that sleeping is never a problem)

You don't like Fort Wilderness with its rustic charm, but you like the tackiest Hawaiian themed resort I have ever seen! That is just sad.

Putting up a tent can be hard work just depends on what tent you have, the ground, and the individual person themselves. Some people also don't equate pitching a tent doing the work themselves to be part of what they want to do on vacation. Also depends on what you use for your bed. I personally don't find inflatable mattresses all that comfortable and any time I have slept in a tent (especially on one bed with my husband) I don't sleep as well. Not to mention the tents I've been in it's a struggle for me to roll out of the bed to put on my shoes to go to the bathroom. But that's just me. There are plenty of people who love camping. I don't mind camping but for what I would be doing at Disney it wouldn't be my cup of tea. Again that's just me plenty of people don't mind it at all.

There's another thing The Fort is great for. Throwaway ressies. So, when I have more money and time to save up, I might pay the $60/night for the perks (MDE, FP+ 60 days, dining res, parking etc) and then stay at a much cheaper than Disney comfortable condo. I'd still be saving lots of money that way.

The bathroom issue I get. I think the other stuff depends on your equipment. My sleeping pad actually feels better than most cheap box spring mattresses.

The noise though- it's not about the tent walls, it's about the fact that people camping tend to be more courteous of their neighbors. No chance of getting stuck next to a Brazilian tour group

Dole Whip - what's all the fuss about? It was okay, but not mind-blowing

I almost feel disloyal saying negative things at Disney

Ok, you gotta explain the Safari comment. How can it be the same each time? The animals move so it's never the same twice. It's like the only ride in all of Disney that is NOT the same each time you do it.

I like my vacations to be luxurious. IMO there's nothing luxurious about camping in a tent. No AC?? I'd die right there.

Art of Animation Resort. Stayed there for a week, and am astounded whenever I hear positive things about it. Sure the courtyards are fun, but once you actually get into a park they're really nothing special. I thought it was awful. Worst hotel experience I've had anywhere, not just WDW.

I totally agree. We only stayed one night to experience it, and that was enough for us. The room was nice, pool okay, but the cars suite was exciting (for our then 6 y/o) but it was chaos! The pool, the food court, the bus lines, everything. Never again.

I have to say it's the character meet & greets. Nobody in my family likes them but everyone on here seems to LOVE them. I just can't get the thought out of my mind that there is a (possibly disgruntled) 20-something standing in an uncomfortable costume, trying to be cool with 1,000 people hugging him/her and taking pictures. I can't meet face characters either. All I think about is how they DON'T look like their characters. Both are weird for me.

I'm not too ashamed to admit that adult me turns in to 9 yo me when I meet characters to this day. So I'm one of those adults you'll see standing in M&G lines, occasionally. I don't do all of them but there are a few I just can't pass meeting. Especially Tarzan (as any red blooded woman would, wink, wink)
I have a particular soft spot for Snow White too
And Marie when she was around
And any pop up or training M&G we happen upon at Epcot or HS

I may be a weirdo because I am seriously considering eating at Tony's next time just to see if it really lives up to all the bad hype it gets!

We ate there a couple of times a few years ago and liked it then we went back this past January and it was easily the worst meal we had all week. But Go. Have fun with it!! (PS) same with Liberty Tree....


Back to the topic - my overrated restaurant would be Sci-Fi. Food was really sub-par IMO and we had a long wait for our ADR. Cute idea but it was a one & done for us.

Yes, I'm right there with ya. Don't get it. Hate this place and it gets such high praise. Do.not.get.it.at.all.

Flame Tree QS at AK--I don't eat meat and there is only a Watermelon salad to eat. So glad for the New QS in Pandora.
DHS--I'm not into Star Wars, so there's not much there. Hated 50s Prime time, and no good QS to eat.

That's it--I love everything else, most everything everyone else hates I like!

Yes, it was very good but was not filling at all. Plus,with the birds trying to get peoples food.
