In your opinion, Is BOG a must do?

I was just able to get a almost last minute ADR -BOG for dinner- 10/31/16@8:15 during the Halloween Party. It really is the only evening we will be in MK and the idea of dining there in our costumes, having a nice glass of wine and a lovely place to sit during a crowded night sounds perfect...I only hope it doesn't keep us from seeing a parade and the fireworks. Any thoughts? I am still stalking the website in case the dessert party opens up for 3- I would trade immediately. I have a special needs son in a wheelchair so a close spot for the parade will be priority and a challenge. ..so to re ask the OP- is BOG a must do?

If youve never been and you are a fan of Beauty and the Beast, I would suggest keeping the reservation. Its really an amazing castle. The rooms are straight out of the Beasts castle in the movie. If you are going for a delicious dinner...skip it.

If you do end up going and havent picked your costumes yet, and have girls/woman in your group..I would really suggest a Belle costume for the party. The Photo Op with Beast would be amazing!! Sadly, I didnt dress my daughter or myself in Belle. (She was Lela from Teen Beach Movie)

Well - you asked "In my Opinion". I will answer this.....

My Wife and I would not set FOOT in what we consider to be the finest Cafeteria on WDW property:). Yes, it's lovely. To us? That lovely building holds no lovely food. It represents "Cosmic Rays" with wonderful architecture :). All sizzle, no steak :).

I ate there for lunch once because I wanted to see the inside. We didn't have reservations but were lucky enough to be able to get seats (it was early and it was the slow season in March). I thought the food was fine, nothing great and I can't even remember what I ate but it was fine for a quick service meal. We ate in the West Wing, the room with the rose and you can hear the sounds of lightening while there as well and for the atmosphere I would say go especially if you are a Beauty and the Beast fan. However, I would suggest going to dinner where you get to meet the beast. On our next trip in June we are hoping to get dinner reservations I just didn't think about it the last trip since it was a last minute trip.

@lilysgigi- I'm not sure I would spend time during MNSSHP doing dinner with all there is to see and do but BOG is supposed to be pretty hard to get reservations for so I could totally understand going. When I went last year people started getting spots for the parades pretty early. My DD doesn't like parades, I had to beg her to let me watch one and we had a horrible spot I was standing on a bench watching it through the trees because while everyone was staking a spot out, DD took advantage of the short lines and wanted to ride more rides until right as the parade was starting but I did get to see the headless horseman which was on my Disney bucket list! Going to Disney on Halloween should be pretty cool no matter what you do though!

We ate there for lunch last spring and it was disappointing. I had the quiche with salad and it was comparable to a frozen Costco entree with a side of bagged salad greens. Blech. And I'm probably gonna get flamed for saying this, but the inside of the castle was just okay - it still felt like sitting in a food court, albeit one that had fancier decor. I just don't get the hype.

We've eaten there 3 times - twice for dinner, once for lunch. Since we keep going back, the answer is obviously yes for us. However, it's less about the food and more about the atmosphere for us, as we are big BatB fans and the castle is gorgeous. The atmosphere is much better at dinner, IMO, but I still think it's the best of the QS options in MK for lunch. We'll be doing both again in the future.

I've had all three meals at BoG, and while lunch is my least favorite, I still think the experience is fun. Dinner is better for an "experience" (lunch is so dang LOUD!), but I think I'd keep it if I were you.

Thanks to all for your opinions. Queen of the WDW Scene or others who have had the roast beef sandwich, is the meat rare? My six year old and I were going to split that, but it had a good safety warning about undercooked meats being unsafe, so I wondered if it would be really rare. I don't like rare meat and don't feel safe feeding it to a young child....

Yeah, I think this is just the legally required notice that you'll see on a lot of menu at places inside at outside of WDW. Where I live, I see it on just about any place I go out to eat for meat and/or eggs. It's probably just to cover legally if anyone requests their meat "rare" and then gets sick.

Yeah, I would go just to see it once, even if you aren't crazy about the food. I snagged a dinner there on our last trip, and it was worth it just for the atmosphere, even if the food wasn't really great. (The service was downright bad actually).

I have it on my list for dinner. If I can't get dinner, I am not going to try for lunch or breakfast. It just wouldn't work for us.
But, I really would like to see it at dinner.

BOG is my favorite place for QS lunch in the MK for the following reasons:
1. Fastpass along with the option of pre-ordering your food makes the whole experience much less stressful. And faster.
2. Ample seating.
3. I like the food. I think it's good for theme park QS. I usually get the quiche with the leek soup. My husband really likes the braised pork. My two very picky boys like the meatloaf. (You can sub fries for the veggies.) Be aware that the kids portions are small.
4. Cool atmosphere.
5. It's a relaxing and restful break.

It's a must-do from the standpoint of it being Beast's castle. The theming, construction and detail is everything that you'd expect from Disney. Between this (and the fact they serve beer) you'll forget you're in Magic Kingdom. We've done it for dinner twice and breakfast once.

The first dinner (shortly after opening) was outstanding. They've since changed the menu a bit, but it's still good, just not GREAT. The true draw is the cupcakes and the full immersion you experience when you step inside. Totally recommend it for dinner.

No doubt in my mind, that Be Our Guest is a must-do! It was the highlight of our Magic Kingdom day for our Disney Moon! Foodie or not, the castle is incredible to explore. As you probably already know, there's the main ballroom, the west wing and the rose gallery. You've gotta check out and appreciate each room after dining at lunch. It's the only time you'll be able to do it. I guess you can do it after breakfast but that's such a bad value for what you get. And at dinner it's table service so I don't know if you'd be able to walk around.

I confess, Belle is actually my least favorite princess, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of Beauty and the Beast. BUt I thought eating at Be Our Guest was incredible. Yes, the food is salty (braised pork and potato soup, specifically) but I still enjoyed it. For the food, price and incredible scenery, I'd come back and dine here in a heartbeat!

Never had lunch there but we did do Dinner once. The castle was nice to look at and we are glad we did it. That said, its not a must do for us by any means. If its available great, if not ok. Food was decent service was good.

It is a very interesting place to dine, kids really like it.

Refills on drinks... where else in the Parks do you get refills on drinks?

Breakfast is overpriced (dining plan - it won't matter)... but early entry into the parks, is priceless. (did I mention refills on drinks)
Lunch is a pretty good value for a Disney Quick Service selection. (Gray Stuff)
Dinner pictures with Beast, get to see Belle a time or two. Food is pretty good (best french onion) for a Disney Character meal.
