We've been here for awhile now, but this is the first night I've gotten any time to sit and relax. It's been a blast!
We went into MK at opening (8:00 a.m. on 12/24). We walked on to everything we wanted to ride (Splash Mountain, all Fantasyland attractions, all Tomorrowland attractions with a caveat -- Space Mountain was down for awhile, so we got a FastPass and moved on. When we went back later, at 10:45 or so, we walked on using our FastPass. Big Thunder Mountain was also down for a while, but we happened to be standing right next to it when it opened and walked onto it, too.) My DH and DS left the park at 11:30 to go back to our resort (BWV). I stayed to watch the 12:30 parade, enjoyed it, and left, having done everything that I wanted to do in MK before noon. (I felt bad for the people just coming in when I left. Lines were really stacked up.)
Lots of people ask about coming at this time of year. The only thing I can say is, we love it, but we don't mind getting up and moving around in the morning. If you can't, don't come. Seriously. Everything can be done and enjoyed in the mornings, giving you the afternoons and the evenings to play and relax.
This afternoon, for example, we did the Epcot Aqua Seas Tour. DS (age 10) declared it the best Christmas present ever. But we didn't have to fight the crowds or worry about FastPasses or anything. We just met the guide and hopped into The Living Seas.
Oh! And the reason I really logged in!!! The Wonders of Life Pavillion was open at Epcot today. We walked by on our way to Universe of Energy, and there it was. I got to take my son on Body Wars and Cranium Command. (He got a big kick out of both since he love science.) The CMs present said it was only open this week, alas. But it was really cool to see it.
Just wanted to check in. Hope everyone is having a great holiday.
