It does. I think it has to do with where you are in your training... it no longer just becomes about finishing, but finishing better (and I don't necessarily mean pace wise) It can be with negative splits or even just controlling yourself well enough that you dont' huff and puff as much.
Well, expert or not... they definitely are NOT the expert of you (or I) So I figure we have to set out to do what works best for us.
Agree with all of this, especially having to figure out what works best with us. I almost wish they weren't, it would be better for my bank account! They are growing on me too.

A full costume at a non-Disney race wouldn't work for me either! I'll probably end up wearing my Minnie skirt to the 5-miler I want to run on the 4th of July, but beyond that I'm not sure I'll Diseny-fy my outfits for local races. It definitely is a niche market... but I wouldn't mind running in a bow band or tank for other races. Now a full on costume or tutu might not work for me... but it might for some.

Definitely more comfortable outfits... plus I could wear most of them anywhere outside of disney.
I'm not sure. The 5K sold out weirdly fast this year!Is there any way to get into the food and wine 5k
You may want to check with travel providers or charities - go to http://www.rundisney.com/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/ and click on the Registration tab. Good luck!
So I am now only one week behind....
Woohoo!!You know, I'm not sure. In 2012 I came really close to 1000 miles for the year...I ended up with 973. Then last year I was in such a funk and had that injury and came in at 700ish. I think it'll be close to 1000 with Dopey training but I'm not sure I'll get there this year...between building back up after that injury and getting sick I've had a few pretty low-mileage weeks. We'll see!!!That is awesome. Do you have an overall goal for the year?
Now that I've been looking at my socks more closely I've thrown out two pairs that were starting to wear away in the heal, so I'll be needing to get some new pairs soon. I may try to hold off and get them closer to Marathon Weekend for maximum cushioning benefits.I think this is interesting that you mention this. I just was thinking about my socks and wondering if they need to be replaced. I am probably overly cautious when it comes to shoes...but I just keep wearing socks. I wonder...
I hate when I look for reasons to stop. I guess maybe that is why I run out and about... the only way to be done is to go the distance...and I might as well run it rather than walk it cause I don't have the time to walk home.
It's not great. Good point about running outside - now that I think about it I almost never cut outdoor runs short. It's a lot easier to do on the treadmill!ME TOO!LOVE the skirt.

So weird... she was there and then wasn't.
Maybe she'll come back! Thanks!!Great picture of you!

I agree. Now I just need them to actually be delivered to me...So great you got a discount and you found something you like. I think sunglasses can be a bit hard to fit and good ones that work well to run in are a hard find.
I think they are, because I can tell myself "it's only 2 minutes of fast running!" They just seem super short. The half-mile ones were definitely a lot harder...I cannot imagine doing full-mile repeats! The quarter mile intervals seem like they would be easier to start with. I have some speed work coming up...and I am honestly a little afraid of the 1/2 mile intervals.

It's almost gone...it feels a little raw but it's not bad enough that I need to stop running or anything.Glad the blister is not bothering you too much.
Thanks!...I did not do a good job of that on my long run today though.OMG! First, way to go! And second, I just decided this past week to do the same thing. Since my mileage is down from previous weeks due to starting "official" training I decided to try to learn to control myself and get negative splits. That is not as easily said as done. It is hard to push harder each mile. So good for you!
Definitely a learning process!I like the waffles too, but the jury's still out on whether I want to totally switch over to them. I like the chews too.I like the waffles. I am not sure they would work well during a run for me though. I would likely have to stop to eat it. The chews are my favorite.

It was, great to see family that we don't get to see very often.Sounds like a great weekend. Love cupcakes at weddings! My dd had cupcakes rather than cake at her wedding. So fun and since there was not a single cake to do.. she was able to order several different flavors that made everyone happy.
I thought the cupcakes were a GREAT idea, because like you said, there were different flavors - salted caramel (which I had), chocolate/orange and lemon.
I wish we'd thought to do that for our wedding!
The stupid thing has already shipped so I'm not sure I can do much about it, but if they send me another one THEN I'll lay the smackdown (ugh, I'm so lame). So there goes another 15 bucks for a box of stuff I probably won't even use. Not cool, Stridebox.
Ughh!

I also brought my cupcakes!

Not sure on the alkaline phosphate.. just cause I was curious I did look it up. Sounds like something that you would discuss with your doc. Maybe has to do with nutrition... or the use of bc pills

It is in a GREAT setting!

That stinks!

At that point I think that races wont fill up as fast or at all and Disney knows this too...so they are taking this moment to capitalize on the current state of things.
