They should really have something to block junk mail!!!!!!

I agree, if we can block junk phone calls & spam mail...why not real mail? Real mail is even wasting paper!

Someone once told me that when your junk mail comes with a prepaid envelope, send some other junk mail to the company. I do this on occassion, always making sure that there is nothing with my name and address on it. One time, I sent an expired coupon for cereal to a credit card company.

Where do they get our names???? I moved here to marry an American. I do not work here. I collect my pension from a Canadian source. Everything I have here is in my married name. And yet, I get applications for credit cards and loans in my maiden name. It boggles my mind ! ( not that is a difficult thing to do )

I also receive at least one or two credit card offers a week. I think the sadest part of this is what it does to people who accept them. No wonder so many people are in over their heads. Yes, they probably should have self-control. But, the fact is that people are drowning in debt and the credit card companies are making money hand over fist! I think the only way you should be able to get a credit card is to approach a company for one. Solicitation should not be allowed via the mail! JMO!

Contact the Direct Marketing Association and have your name removed. It takes several months, but before long, you will be getting virtually none of these offers. We used to get 10 or so a week, and I can't remember the last time we got one!

I don't have the address for the DMA, but I'm sure you can get it via google.

Call 888-567-8688. It allows you to have your your name removed from pre-approved credit-card lists. I got this number from an identity-theft article a few years ago. I called the number when my teenson started getting all these pre-approved credit cards things about two to three years ago. That was the last thing I needed for him to do is send one in and get a credit card so I called to have his name removed from the list. It worked.

I just recently moved (about 5 weeks ago) and am already getting credit card offers at my new address.

It doesn't both me, just another thing for the recycling pile.

thanks for the # -- told my DH that if we had collected $5 for every application coming into the house - we could pay for a lot more DVC points
