In the U.S does santa visit kids in a fire engine?

As I'm English I don't know and I thought you could help. Is this true?

When "Santa" brings gifts, he arrives by sleigh.

But in my town and areas around us, at annual Christmas parades, he comes around on a fire engine giving out candy and reindeer food. So basically it varies on where you live.

When he comes to bring gifts, he comes in a sleigh with reindeer but about a week before Christmas he comes down the street on a fire engine and gives out candy canes to the kids. I've lived on 5 streets and I've seen it done every year.

The actual answer is...

"Sometimes, Yes."

In our small town in PA, Santas visits on the Friday after our American Thanksagiving Day. He rides into the town square either in a horse drawn wagon or on a firetruck (it varies from year to year). He ceremoniously lights the town Christmas tree and then sits by the gazebo and visits with all of the children--handing out oranges and candy canes and coloring books.

In our neighboring town, just a few miles up the valley, Santa ALWAYS (it's been a tradition for at least the past 50 years or more) rides through the town on Christmas eve on a firetruck, handing out popcorn balls to everyone.

So yes, in some parts of the USA, Santa does indeed visit on a fire engine. Just because not everyone in this country shares this tradition, doesn't mean it is any less true.
