In the Spirit of the Season

Sorry to read that Zoe is hurting. I hate that our kids are going through so much. It's wonderful that they can remain happy and joyful despite their circumstances. We can learn alot from our kids!

Anakin had a rough week after his seizure last Saturday morning. It took alot out on his body. Thankfully this time, it didn't affect his memory. We have been taking it slow. He didn't play basketball this morning. I kept him sleeping because we need him well rested for tomorrow's trip. We will be taking it very easy at Pop. No commando touring.

What...no updates and I am not pages behind?! :rotfl2: Whew...then that must mean that you are really busy!

It was week one for work..so yes, busy. Add in that I am trying to put together everything for Zoe's birthday party and yep.. busy busy. I hope to get an update or two done this weekend. :goodvibes

 You are so right! It just is so awful that they go through all they do. I am sorry about Anakin's week. I hope he gets the rest he needs so you can have an awesome time!

Poor Alex

At this point in the trip, I was still desperately trying to follow my ridemax schedule. I got us up at 7am to get ready for the day. Steve however, did not want to get up so I took the kids down to Roaring Fork for breakfast. Alex had a bounty platter and Zoe and I split an order of mickey waffles. Now, for those of you who have never gone to WL these are no ordinary mickey waffles. I think that WL has THE BEST mickey waffles. They have several different kinds. (strawberry with orange whipped cream, banannas foster and chocolate chip) This morning we had the strawberry with orange cream. One word - YUM. Sorry no pics, but they were so good we snarfed them up too fast.

Shortly after breakfast, before we even made our way to the bus, Alex began to feel ill. I assumed he just wanted to go back to bed. After all, dad was getting to sleep in. I convinced Alex to go with us to the park.

The park we were headed to for the day was DHS. Our first order of business was to get fast passes for TSM. Our return time was actually not long after we got our passes so we didn’t go far.

We went to see One Mans Dream.

I had never done this before. I was very impressed. We wandered through the museum part and then sat through the movie. The movie really is a must do.

Some of the pictures I took...

Zoe's would love to see this castle. She fell in love with it. Someday.. maybe when she is a teen.

This would be an interesting castle to see. I guess someday when I am old(er)
IMG_0453.jpg

Can you believe I have not been here since the changes were made. No more sun wheel. Course, since I about die on it... maybe I don't care one way or another.
IMG_0454.jpg

Next we went to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Alex was really starting to complain more and more about not feeling well. It made me nervous and frustrated. After all, I worry about my kids and don't want them to be sick but if he wanted to just go back to the resort then he was interfering with my “plan”. :confused3 Because of how preoccupied with how he was doing, I don’t really remember where we sat or how the show went. (I have seen the show before so I guess it is fine that I don’t remember:rolleyes:) What I do remember is he was pleading to go back to the resort by the end of it.

Since Alex had never gone on TSM I convinced him he HAD to go on this since it was very likely we would not have a chance to do it another time. He agreed and went on it.

IMG_0455.jpg

Here is poor Alex waiting in line. I really was hoping it was just something that would pass, but looking at this picture... I can see now what I couldn't see then.
IMG_0457.jpg

Alex sat by himself and I rode with Zoe.

Check out Zoe sportin her fancy nails that she got from Betsy.

IMG_0458.jpg

I know it isn't fair to compare scores with her... but I took the obligatory picture of our scores nonetheless.
IMG_0462.jpg

After we were done with TSM, Alex was done. No pleading he just left.

As I would later find out, he did not have a nice ride back to the resort. He ended up getting sick on the bus. He then continued to get sick often and all over the bathroom for the remainder of the day. Poor guy.:sad2:

Next Chapter: Two Girls Alone in DHS, What Could be Better

Oh my god, poor Alex!

I remember you talking about some family members being sick but I forgot all about it.
Alex really has "sick eyes" as we say here in the one photo. Poor thing being sick on the bus.

As for the rest of you - glad you enjoyed your day. We love "One man's dream" - I love the exhibition and the movie and if Zoe wants to see that castle in real life - just send her over, we'll take her (and you too!) :goodvibes

Here's a photo for her (and you)

Guess I need to get myself to the WL for breakfast one day! ...... everyone is raving about the Mickey Waffles! :lmao:

I feel so bad for pushing Alex. I honestly just thought he wanted to hang out at the resort... until her really started to balk at being there. I am glad he got to do TSM. Despite how he felt, he still enjoyed it.

The photo  I will show Zoe tomorrow. She LOVES Belle and anything related. So... hence why she wants to go to Belles castle. I definitely have it on my bucket list!!! For now though, I think we will just have to be happy when Belle's restaurant opens in WDW.

And as for WL and the waffles... yes. Honestly I don't know what they do to them...but some how they are the best I have had on property. I wonder if it has to do with how small RF is...and the fact they are making so few of them. I don't know... all I know is they are yummy... the orange whipped cream is just subtle enough...but you can still taste it. Perfect!!

Ann, I hate to break this news to Zoe, but this is NOT Belle's castle. :sad2: It's le Chateau de la Belle Dormant, which means Sleeping Beauty's castle. I don't think Belle has a castle.
But it still is a beautiful castle, put together from 14 real European castles. AND it is the only one that keeps a dragon as a pet in the lair. :rotfl2:

Poor Alex - that stinks. Did Zoe enjoy The Little Mermaid? I thought it was well done. We saw it when our girls were little, but they were out of the princess phase, so they didn't really care either way.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you and Zoe enjoyed at DHS.

Poor Alex, he does have sick eyes in that picture.

I've seen Mickey waffles on buffets, but I've never seen flavored Mickey waffles. I just might have to try bananas foster Mickey waffles some time.

Yes, poor Alex, indeed. As much as I feel bad for him, I hope it wasn't something that hit the rest of you. Stomach sick, I swear, can be the worst sick there is. I hate throwing up. Wait...who likes it? :rotfl:

Cool pictures of One Man's Dream. We've never done it. Where is it? I can never seem to actually find it. I find DHS to be super confusing at times. Am I the only one? :confused3

Ah! I feel so bad for Alex! I am glad he got to ride TSM, though, even if he probably doesn't remember and will forever associate bad memories with it. :(

The Paris castle is definitely my fav! I spend an hour or so the other day avoiding cleaning my house by watching DLP videos on Youtube. I also watched a few of Tokyo DL.

:rotfl2: Ya know... she and I both just saw the word "Belle" and assumed Belles castle. 4 years of french in school you would have thought I could figure out that was actually reading "the castle of the sleeping beauty"! Not to mention it is the same colors as Sleeping Beauty's castle in CA!! :lmao::lmao: Oh well, still someday. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Zoe likes the VOTLM. She loves the bubbles that float down.

Zoe and I did have a nice time after he left. As it would turn out...most of the best times on the trip were just Zoe and I.

The waffles themselves are not flavored. It is the toppings. The waffles are quite :scratchin .... fresh tasting and thus really yummy... but it is the toppings. That whipped cream was so yummy..and the strawberries so fresh. Not to give so much away, but this was my waffle of choice. I should have considered the chocolate chip ones with chocolate sauce or the bananas foster one with the bananas and sauce and pecans (I think that is the one with pecans..although there may just be another one)

I feel bad for him because he missed out on so much that day. :sad2:

As for One Man's Dream... it isnt far from TSM. If you are looking at TSM... to the right is an alleyway of sorts between another building... that next building is what houses One Man's dream. :goodvibes

I think he will always associate or at least remember the last time on that ride (well, the only time being on that ride) was a time he was sick. :sad2:

DLP and Tokyo would definitely be fun to go to... for now though, WDW and DL are about all I can swing.

I now have added an ADR on my dream list! ;) The waffle sounds amazing...I love orange and strawberry together!

Poor Alex...I know you feel bad for pushing him...but :scared1: I did the same thing to my 3 on our trip!

Best memories just you and Zoe...I think my best memories were with Ab and Boo...:scared1: I am such a bad wife and mother....:rotfl:

Knowing what Tink told me, I wish we would have spent more time at Walt exhibit...have to agree the movie was really nicely done and well worth the time...although at the moment I did not think that with FP for TSM burning a hole in my pocket.

Well, no need to add it to your ADR list... Roaring Fork is just the counter service in WL. I tried to get Kira to go there on one of her MK days since it is an easy trip over and no need to "schedule" as long as you are there by 11am (I think that is when breakfast is over) you can walk up...get your waffles and then go sit outside... this too enters into my favorite moments on the trip. :cloud9:

:rotfl: Yes, hard to see past anything with fast passes for TSM in hand!

Aw poor Alex is right!

I'm sorry he got sick on the bus. I would love to say I hope no one else got sick on your trip but..... we had this conversation while in WDW. ;)

I can't wait to hear about your DHS day with Zoe!!! :goodvibes I am loving all of those castle pics!!!!

Poor Alex; and I bet he felt really bad getting sick on the bus.

I'm glad he at least got to try Toy Story Mania.

Love Zoe's nails.

I think I'm caught up now. What's the sun wheel at One Man's Dream? I am not sure I ever saw that.

So sorry Alex was ill. I hope he got to feeling better after the one bad day.

I feel like a horrible mom who sent her kid off on the bus when he said he was not feeling well. I just honestly thought there was a good chance that he (like his dad) would rather be back at the resort and was coming up with an excuse.

Poor Alex; and I bet he felt really bad getting sick on the bus.

I'm glad he at least got to try Toy Story Mania.

Love Zoe's nails.

According to Alex, he didn't make a mess. He was able to "use" something in order to not make a mess or draw much attention to himself.

I am also glad he got to... cause.. well, ya just never know how many times one gets the opportunity. ;)

I think I'm caught up now. What's the sun wheel at One Man's Dream? I am not sure I ever saw that.

The sun wheel was at DCA... but (and maybe Paula or someone who frequents DL can tell us) off hand I don't know the name of it after the refurbishment... now though, it has Mickey on it. In One Man's Dream, there is a model of how DCA now looks in the pier area. That thing that looks like a ferris wheel is not... let me assure you... it is NOT a ferris wheel and it has about killed me each time I rode it...especially when on a booth that moves. Riding the stand still ones though are nice though (well, they still cause me to have a panic attack :rolleyes1) since.. if memory serves you can clearly see all the way into DL.

Ann, believe me, I ride any coaster there is and don't mind fast and dark attractions, but that Sun Wheel made me scream my way through the ride in one of the "moving" cabins. That thing is scary! :scared1:
On the other hand, can't wait to ride it again next summer :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Karin you make me laugh! You can't wait! Will you scream again? I know I would/will if I were to ever go on it again. My family liked to drag me on it just to see me have a panic attack. I know it can't be that bad since they are all able to sit calmly through it and laugh at me.

At some point I am going to have to take down when your dates for DL are... I really would love to go down there and meet up with you! Maybe I would even be brave enough to ride the wheel with you.. :rotfl2: Course... if we both scream then they may have to shut the ride down to make sure no one is actually dieing on it.

So sorry about Alex getting sick.

But you and Zoe seemed to enjoy your girl time together. :)

Mmmm mickey waffles...
