Holy moly .....
I just pulled up ebay xbox360 thr are 281 pages of just the game system for sale.... they are going for over $1500.00.

:earseek: :earseek: :earseek:
I am in shock!

That is more than the cost of my Feb 06 trip 4 6 days with dining & hoppers & plus passes. If my airfare goes on sale then the whole trip would be less than what some folks are paying for this GAME!

So glad DH is not into this, I would have to sell all his clothes, shoes, DVD's, CD's and tools before he could buy this GAME on ebay.

Earlier in the day they were selling the platinum editions for 2-5 THOUSAND !!!!

Are these actual bids or just minimums set by sellers?

Those are actual bids!!!

I was just at Target and overheard a girl asking her manager what to tell people when they ask when they'll be getting more XBox 360's in. The manager said they wouldn't know when and they wouldn't know how many. Then the girl started talking about how people were waiting outside Target at 6PM YESTERDAY to get it at 7AM TODAY!!

I'm glad I never got into gaming and I hope my (future) children never get into it!! It's insane!

Just checked out ebay. Many premiums are almost to $2,000 and within the two pages of completed items, at least 3 went for Buy It Now of $2,500 and two more had 40-50 bids and ended at over $2,000.

How much did this thing retail for???

$399.00 + tax

That's crazy - I should of bought one and resold it, I sure could use the cash but I would never think of doing that - I'd feel guilty making that kind of money.

People are crazy .................. :rotfl:

Assuming such crazy bids are real (and many problably are not) there's going to be a lot of NPB as soon as the hysteria dies down and people realize there are thousands of other sets up for auction that will go for a fraction of the price, and there will be units available for sale at list price within in a month (2 months max).

OMGOSH! Wow, if only I had known... I would have totally stayed up all night outside a store (even in the rain!) to get one of these things to turn around and make a $2,000 profit!!

I believe there were two systems core for $300 & upgraded system to play old xbox games for $400. They certainly aren't giving them away. Won't be under our tree.

My DH was in line at Best Buy from 3:00 pm 11/21 until 9:00 pm today to get his Xbox 360. I would sale it n ebay but he would not reguardless of the amount of money. Wonder if I could sale it and tell him someone stole it? :rotfl2:

I think this is true. If you look at the bidders, they are all 0 bidders. No one is going to pay 2K for something that will be readily available in a few months. I think double the price, $700-800 is more like the TRUE eBay price.

Several of the systems that sold for 2,000 & up were systems that came with extras, like games, controllers and extra goodies! Even the retail price of those systems were close to $1000

Just talked to DBF late last night (I'm home in NY for Thanksgiving, he's in VA) and he had hung out with a few of our friends last night. Well, turns out- one of them had preordered and XBox360 in JULY and sold his on ebay for $3,450 (the seller had 100% and a score of 25- at least higher than many of the 0's I've seen! :rotfl: ) and another, sold his for $2700... and had already had paypal go through!!! He legitimately got $2700 for his Xbox360. I really can't believe it.

I'll be anxious to see if the $3450 one goes through. :Pinkbounc

Also, I had been talking to my mom this morning about it, and she just called me from work. We both said that we hadn't heard much about the 360 and if we had known it was going to be such a big deal, we would have bought one. So she yells at her friend who is always into this kind of stuff and was like "why didn't you know??" and he goes "let me call around". So he calls BJ's Wholesale club and turns out they had 5 come in last night and they sold them this morning. A few of the places in the area got them in a day late.

Just goes to show... you never know until you call around! ;)

Edited to add: the two systems my friends had were the $400 Premium system (no extras, didn't cost $1,000 like someone mentioned before).

Most places didn't sell just the premium system - there isn't any margin in the things at $400. They sold bundles, which included extra controllers and games. If your friends found anyone to sell them just the system, they were lucky.

And the gamers look at the $2000 you spent at Disney and say "stupid people, they could have bought an XBox and a whole bunch of games!" Everyone has their own vice - some of them are quite expensive - that someone else doesn't get. Nearly everyone here complains that "no one understands why we go to Disney every year, I'm so sick of hearing 'again!'" Same deal, you are now just doing it to someone else.

(I don't get why anyone pays premium prices to spend the holidays at WDW, three weeks later there are no crowds and the hotels are ALOT cheaper. But people do. I don't get why anyone would buy a game system on eBay for $1000+ when six weeks from now you'll be able to pick it up for its $400 list, and six months from now, when the PS3 is released, it will sell for $299, but people do.)

I should know, I have a Disney habit, a PC/Console game habit, and I play golf! Golf is the worst in my experience for "I don't get why you spend so much money doing THAT!"

I was bidding on one for a friend the other day (lost it to a $680. bid) and as soon as the auction was over rec'd a message from E-Bay that seller had been suspended and not to purchase item if contacted by seller. Good thing I lost....my friend told her college age son he'll just have to wait until they're available in stores again. Have seen some as high as $1,500. plus outrageous s/h charges.

I saw one today "Send Western Union check only" can you say big time scam. This is the hottest product on ebay right now and many, many scammers will be taking advantage of that!

buyer beware!

It is a hot item and a hot scam item. I have though been looking at these since yesterday. If I honestly had known- I think I would of pre-ordered one and jumped on the bandwagon. I dh and I were talking last night about this happening again when the PS3 is released next year.
