In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Kelly - thanks for the pics. You all look fabulous for your day at the races. Winning enough to cover the bets is coming out ahead in my book.

Kat - safe travels to Pittsburgh. You are one busy traveler these days. Hang in there. The eating will settle down once the traveling does.

Nancy - didn't realize that you needed costumes for your adventure weekend. So - what are the costumes of? Bye Bye Birdie is a fun show. I was in a summer theater production in high school. Good times...

Meg - which RoadID did you get? I have been looking at those but can't decide which one I want.

Jo - how are things going with your running? You haven't said much lately.

Missing everyone else...

Rainy day here - yuck. Sent my bike off to the shop to get a triple crank put on it only to find out today that the parts may not be in in time for my 80 mile ride on Saturday. grr.... I pick it up tomorrow regardless so hopefully the box will arrive in the am and they can get it on before Saturday. If not, I have to schlep back to the bike shop and drop it off again. The whole thing is just frustrating. Is it too much to ask for someone to give you a realistic time frame? I guess honesty is overrated these days.

So - I guess I'll be getting some miles in on the spin bike tonight instead. Whee... (have I mentioned how much I hate training indoors lately)

Talk to you all later

We are off out again on a girls day out on Saturday - Its Leahs 30th birthday today so we are going to a city called York for the day for drinks and lunch! Its a great city, very quaint and English - apparantly its where the Vikings were! :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Glad you had a great time for Ladies Day!!

I have been to York. I went on a 7 day tour of England in 1994 with my college choir... we actually sang in York Minster. It's beautiful there.

Yeah, lots of travel. This is the icky air travel kind too.

Sorry about the indoor training. :(

I managed to drag my fat behind to talk to the treadmill tonight. It did NOT have nice things to say to butterpants over here (hi jo!!). I did manage 2.25 miles in about 30 min but it was definitely slow and easy (5 min warm up and cool down walk included in that distance/time).

HI All,
Kelly, you look wonderful in your pictures!. Have a great Bday celebration tonight.

Paula, I could not get past your post where you said 80 miles :worship:
Wow, I am AMAZED!!!

Meg, Thanks for the coupon code, I have been thinking of the road id,
I have my eyes on the Garmin Forerunner 305 or 205, do you have one? Any advice???

HI KAT, . 2.5 miles is a good work out in my book ( Being the butterpants that I am, 2.5 is my short runs...) :lmao: I know I better step it up here soon.

Nancy, Glad to hear your on track. But I am with Paula, a bit surprised with the sewing.

HI Amiee, I can't wait for that TR!

Ok, here's my scoop. Ok NO RUN this week, Run club was Tuesday for speed and bleachers and Wednesday for Yoga, I would of loved to go to both but DH has a new schedule (shocker!:rotfl2: ) and I just did not feel like rushing around to get the kids from where they were to the gym day care. I did do a 2.5 mile walk with the neighbor on Tuesday so I guess thats not so bad. I am planning on 6 miles outside this weekend, I don't care how long it takes I just want to get the miles in. I have a 15 K on Nov 6.

Also, I made an apt. with the doctor, I have been having small heart flutters and I know I am making it worse by thinking WHAT IF, so I am just going to get check and be done with it. I have not worried about the WHAT IF's in a while. ( I think DH's job change is bringing it)

Its just about a year from the time I found this thread. I am so grateful to all of you. You ALL have been a life line for me this past year, with my dad, with my health, and with my MENTAL health. THANK YOU ALL SO SO VERY MUCH.

OH Meg, I almost forgot to tell you.
As of now I have scrached any plan of ADR's for the princess.

I booked my res with the WDW I Run # and I am paying $570 for 3 ngiht at All Star M. and 3 day park hopper. I can not add dinning to that.
I would have to make my hotel res with the main res line to get the dinning and to do that my rate would change to over $800 with out dining.

Does that sound right to any of you? I know most of you are DVC, but should I look else where to book or is that a good deal.

Jo- My princess plans have been all screwed up. My cousin registered for the race assuming she could convince me go go. (she doesn't know I've been registered for months) My family has decided they'd rather go at another time so it's just us and my cousin isn't along for the ride. (this is a story for when I'm not running out to hockey) Anyways your prices look about right from what I've priced out. I'll probably double check the prices over the weekend so I'll let you know if there is a deal that works out for a better price.

I'll respond about the road I'd and everything else when I get home. I just had two minutes between workout class and hockey to respond to this.

Jo, that's an okay deal but not a great one. Did they break out the cost between the tickets and the room (i.e. how much is each one)? Is this a room-only reservation (meaning you can cancel with 5 days notice)? What day are you arriving?

If it's a room-only ressie and you can get the discounted tickets through WDW I Run without a room ressie, I might be able to get you a better rate with my annual pass later in the year when they release AP rates. However, either you or Meg would have to be "me" when it came to one of the room cards and I would likely have to be there at check-in time.

I did not ask the break down on price of room only and ticket.
And yes I still can change it. I am open to share a room if your going solo, its sounds like Meg has her cousin. I will call tomorrow to see if I can get the tickets only, ( I am pretty sure I can, but I will double check)

Meg, going to hockey at 9PM, thats about the time I go to bed :lmao:

Not sure yet but I think I already have accommodations set up. It sounded like Meg was going without her cousin. :)

However, I would be more than willing to front the AP for you and Meg if needed. You can book an AP rate without any AP number or anything, and then just show it when you check in. We can work out the details.

I would get the tix (because I can almost guarantee you won't get them cheaper than the race discount), and reserve the room separately, then we can work it out when they publish the AP rates.

As to adult hockey, leaving at 9PM is pretty standard!

Ok so I'm home from hockey and finally settled down in bed. Yes, 10-11 hockey is late but its so worth the exercise and it is just good for me.

Kelly- You look great and I love that dress! Thank you for sharing your pictures!

Paula- Sorry to hear about your bike, I hope they can get it done for you tomorrow. As for the road id, I got the original sport. I felt like the interactive one was just not something I was looking for and I liked the sport because its reflective and durable. I thought about getting the elite but I just think the sport works better for when I'm active.

Jo- I don't have a garmin but I'm actually thinking it will be a purchase I make soon. I hear great things about the garmin 305 and that's the one I'm leaning towards.

Kat & Jo- I guess I wasn't very clear about my plans with my cousin. She has it in her mind that I'll go and stay a week with her. I haven't told her I registered in June, she's thinking she has to try to convince me to run it. I am going to tell her that I will only be going for a long weekend and I'm not sure if she'll still do it if we don't stay the week. I'm only going for a long weekend because my family has decided to go down to Disney at another time so that we can go without her. (This sounds mean but there's more to it.) Jo, if my cousin doesn't go I'd love to share a room with you and if she goes and you still are interested in sharing a room I could check it with her. I am having dinner with her tomorrow so I can probably tell you either tomorrow or Saturday morning what she's doing. This planning has been a little too drama filled for me.

Kat- I was going to send you a message but since you're back around I don't suppose I need to. I so wanted to make it for the OBX race but it's not happening. We're going to North Carolina in October and it's looking like two Disney trips over the winter so this trip is sadly out. I am doing a half that day up here, one that runs a piece of the Boston Marathon that includes the infamous heart break hill. I'm a little crushed about this but I'll be running with you in spirit that day. (Yes, I might have to break out my goddess running shirt that day. Weather permitting.)

Phew I had more to say but I've already gone on too long. I'm glad tomorrow (today?) is Friday! Oh and I have a 5k Sunday. Yay!!!

Jo- that's my plan as of right now as well but as you can tell nothing is set in stone for my plans. I'm wondering if adding a night might be worth it to get a discounted package. I'm going to look into it at nap when I get a longer break.

Oh happy Friday all!

Hi Everyone!

Have I mentioned how jealous I am of your Goddess Meetings! Well, I am! :rotfl:

Glad you had a great time for Ladies Day!!

I have been to York. I went on a 7 day tour of England in 1994 with my college choir... we actually sang in York Minster. It's beautiful there.

How cool! York is one of THE best places to visit when people come to the UK, but its too far North for most (most people fly into London!), they don't know what they're missing! Thats awesome that you got to sing in York Minster! DH had his University Graduation in York Minster, its such a cool building!

I realise that I forgot to weigh in for the past 2 weeks! Well, two weeks ago I was down 2lbs, then last week I was up 1lb! I blame Ladies Day. This week it will be the fault of York. :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a great Friday! :cool2:

6 miles done my 7:30 AM (soccer was at 9!)
I AM SO SO SO Happy that I did it, 1 hour 27 mins 14.4 min mile, I am happy with that time. I know with that time you ladies will be already done with the 1/2 by then. But as long as I finish!!!

My 15k is still about 6 weeks and that is 9 miles I am feeling a bit better about it , but its a 15m/m limit.:scared1:

Paula, How was the 70 miles

Hi Kelly, don't worry about the 2 lbs. YOU LOOK FABULOUS

Amiee, Did you post a trip report yet, If so past the link here cuz I could not find it.

Nancy, Meg, Erika, Lisa, Kat, Ronda. Hope all is well!

Jo, my Galloway group trains 2-3 min slow for long runs. I did 12 this morning in about 3 hours.

So I doubt I will be done before you. :goodvibes

12 Miles. OMG.. I was so happy with my six HA HA :rotfl2:

How do you feel after a long run like that, after being off for a while.

I did not run at all this week and this run today was good.

Honestly, I felt great. When my alarm went off this morning, I was thinking *very* dark thoughts at it. I almost rolled over and didn't get up, but the fact that I will be out of town for next week's propelled up out.

I am so glad I did. The trail we did today was hilly, but it was shady and hard-pack sand rather than asphalt. It's not really that much cooler here today in the heat of the day (mid 90s), but the early morning was much cooler than it's been all summer, with temps between 68 and 72 for beginning and end, and humidity more in the 50-60% range, and breezy.

I stuck with the 13 min pace group (1:1s) and about .5 from the parking lot on an out-and-back, we were already at 10.5. A friend in my group and I decided that since next week was a scheduled 12 for the OBX half and neither of us will be there, that we would turn around and do the final mile to reach 12.

After, I went for coffee with folks, and then hit Kohls and Walmart, and got home around 2PM. Napped for an hour or two, but right now I am a bit sore but mostly really good.

There, that's the long-winded way of saying I feel good.

I feel good to, my hip are starting to hurt and I did have to ice my knee.

Are you doing the Outter Banks 1/2? Did you know they are doing a 1/2 in Mytrle Beach, this is the first year. Now that could be a fun half.!

Yup! OBX = Outer Banks. Sorry, I should have spelled it out... I get caught up in my NC abbreviations. :)

The one in Myrtle sounds fun. When is it?

I will likely be doing the Outer Banks 1/2 on Nov 14th, Thunder Road 1/2 in Charlotte on Dec 11th, the Princess in Feb, and then Tobacco Road 1/2 in late March.

There is the City of Oaks here in Raleigh on Nov 7th, but I feel like I might be crazy if I did back-to-back like that! My running group helps to sponsor that race, though, so if I don't run/walk it, I will definitely be volunteering.

I am maybe targeting the Outer Banks full in Nov 2011, but I will have to see how I feel at the beginning of the training season in May.

I think the one at the beach is in Oct. its their first one.
I got my eyes on it for next year. But I don't know who fly's there from Chicago. I will have to see next year.

Morning ladies. Just getting up and ready for my 5k today. Kind of awesome, my parents are doing the walk portion of the race and it's the first time my dad will ever be at one of my races! Oh did I mention the race goes a half block from the street my dad grew up on (and my grandfather still lives on)? I'm looking forward to it just for the location.

I've got to go get ready. I'll be back later.
