In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Sweet nibblets Paula! Very exciting. Do we get a pic?

Of course you will... :)

Paula yay for the bike!! I am getting in some quality couch time as well. Funny how Friday nights become worse than a week night when those long runs/rides loom!!

Tell me about it...

OK - food for today:

B - egg white and cheese sandwich on an english muffin
L - turkey sandwich w/ focaccia bread and small ceasar salad (catered lunch while at training session)
S - JC vitamin bar and watermelon
D - JC fish and chips
S - ice cream (a treat I know)

and lots of water!!!

Time to get back to the couch - 40 miles and one big hill on tap for tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!

I'm loving the food posts. I had a massive salad from Roly Poly - I'm not supposed to lift heavy things. :rotfl2: Ryan had football assessment today and beat all of the kids in the 40. I don't think I've shared this, but he has been my rabbit. He will run in front of me, then piddle around until I catch him. He's not even 11 yet and is just a few inches shorter than me. What happened? ?

Kat, OMG 116, Good Luck tomorrow.

Paula, 40 miles, WOW!!! Good luck tomorrow as well.. Yay on the new bike!!!

EE, Sounds like you have a built in trainer!!!

Kelly, Glad you had a good night, Take two asprin as soon as you get up. Lots of water.

Getting ready for bed, I plan to be one with the DREADMILL tomorrow for 2 miles maybe 3 we will see how it goes.

Have a great night all!

Hey guys. Hanging out at home. Had a freak out moment early this morning. I thought I had a fever and it was just me being too hot in blankets <==half asleep.

10 miles done! I did the run/walk intervals for the first 6 (1:27 I think?) and then walked the last 4, for a total of 2:30.

I actually felt great but that is exactly why I stopped. I wanted a nice slow and easy and didn't want to feel like crap and need too much recovery before next weekend. I feel good, now, although I think there is a nap in my future.

Also, umm, did I mention it was hot here? It was 83 when I got in my car at 6:05, humidity level around 75%. It was about 90 when we stopped, with a heat index just below 100. Heat index is now 112.

Paula, hope your ride went great!!

Bike ride is done! There were some nasty hills in there which totally sucked! I climbed all but one. George Thompson - I'll get you on another day. Victory will be mine.

It rained towards the end so I am off for a much needed shower and perhaps a nap.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Yay on Paula's bike ride and Kat's run.

Hum, I wonder if the Amish celebrate birthdays?!? :confused3

I'm working on some trip planning. Making up a list of packing needs, reviewing counter service menus, and some rough touring plans. I can't wait!

Kat - glad the run went well! Great minds you know... Just satin

EE - take me with you!!!! Your trip us going to be a blast!

I would gladly take you Paula!

Ok, so I realized that I hadn't had breakfast yet, so I made my way to the grocery store salad bar and had an epiphany.

I just created an awesome lunch:
All kinds of veggies from the salad bar including red onion, green & red pepper, celery (lots cuz I love it), red cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, and califlower. I had shirataki and hummus at home. So I threw the veggies in the pan (staggered based on cooking needs) with a little apricot wine that I picked up on our mini-vaca with some garlic dash. I added 40 spice hummus by Tribe of Two Shieks and the shirataki. Yumminess. I added a few crushed almonds and cashews as a garnish. Color was bursting all over the plate. It was insanely good. Just wanted to share!

Let's just say I would be one wench of a mother. I would not care whether my child liked me. And they probably wouldn't. :lmao::rotfl: I believe in "no". I often say, "no - hmmm no and let me see no" to my nieces and nephews.

I say no all.the.time. Seriously. My kids get so frustrated because they'll start to ask me something and I'll cut them off with "NO. Just no". I love having the power ;)

Nancy, hows that painting going,

Um. It's not yet. Other things going on instead. The boys leave tomorrow morning, so I'll start in earnest then.

My new bike has arrived!!!! I am going to get fitted next week and then let the transition begin.

:woohoo:

Oh no, drunk posting!
......
Im pretty sure I can only see out of one eye so I will go to bed! :rotfl:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm loving the food posts.

Me too! Lots of yummy ideas being thrown around.

Awesome. Exactly what you trained for!

George Thompson is goin' down. Make no mistake. You.will.own.him.

:laughing:Yes. I'm certain that they do!

I don't think you are that kind of parent. I mean, umm, your eldest just CHOSE a military lifestyle.

Btw, my dad was totally like that with the NO cutoff.
