In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Kat - Galloway today?

...

as for me - I'm down another .5 this week :thumbsup2 slow and steady. Not going to complain. yet.[/COLOR]

Yup... and THEY LIED! They said 8 miles and it was closer to 9. I accidently shut off my Garmin-like app so I am not totally sure.

It was SO humid today. Already 80 and 83% humidity when we started at 7AM. The 8 miles were allright, but I walked in the .7 or whatever it was. Just wasn't feeling all that good (stomach hurt) and decided that if I tried to continue 2/1s for the rest, I would have a really crummy day.

Thankfully next week we start at 6:30AM instead of 7. Some of us are actually pushing to move it to 6 as this has been a brutal summer. (and yes, what have you people DONE to me!!)

Hung out for a while, ate my South Beach Protein Fit bar at the bagel shop (ha!) and then did Pilates.

I AM DOWN FIVE POUNDS FROM YESTERDAY. :scared1: WT F is that? No need to answer. I'm so done with that apparatus. Maybe I need to whip it at the G20 fence.

Mine has been screwy this week too. It said 190 on Mon AM (hello Sunday cheat day BADNESS = up 2.2 lbs from week before), and said 183 this morning. Here's to hoping that sticks.

So smiled at the caps and exclamation point.

Rest day before long run day is key (sorta like socks). :goodvibes

So sorry about everything.

Nancy, glad the hand is doing better.

Ronda, have fun at the party! Hope your cold gets better soon.

Kelly, how was your me time?

Meg -- GOOD LUCK!!! You will do GREAT! :cheer2:

IKelly - I SO want to ask you a question but I'm scared of screwing it for you. Sh!t. Anyway, maybe that is the last one b/c of the split in the finale for you. Okay - let me figure a way of saying this. Was there a stairwell scene? :lmao: EDIT: I'm saying I want to make sure that is the confrontation scene you mentioned, yes?

YES! Christina and Owen arguing about Teddy and then they heard a pager and Teddy was stood on the stairs! I cannot say enough good things about Sandra Oh, I LOVE her!!

Split in the finale. :scared1: Maybe that's a good thing. It took me a week or more to emotionally recover. SERIOUSLY. I know it's a show - but SERIOUSLY. I can't wait until you're finished so I can talk.

I was the same after Denny died :rotfl:

Kelly I forgot to say this - to your family when you were talking to me about how frustrated I was.

Thank you

I"m about to have breakfast. No, I didn't move time zones. :lmao: I'll be back.

I sometimes have breakfast for dinner!

Hells Kitchen :lovestruc

Well Im just about to have dinner and watch USA V Ghana!

 guys. Tough game. That last three minutes must have seemed like hours for Ghana.

Kelly - I don't want to say too much but just to prepare you somewhat it's not like Denny overwhelmed - it's like overstimulated overwhelmed. I better shut up. ;)

And I also want to say I appreciate the police greatly. Needed from those who can't protest peacefully. However, apparently if we used the army it would have saved millions and millions. They thought Canadian citizens wouldn't have been okay with the army involved.

I would have been. Whatever is needed.

What a mess. Pittsburgh shut down their entire downtown. And we all know these are angry people out from all over the world protesting and don't give a eff about the city and the damage. Sad.

Hell's Kitchen rocks! Waiting for the sun to get a little closer to Japan, then I am going out for another walk.

Thank you all for the advice. I think it's all helped me get to a better place mentally. I'm nervous but right now I'm relaxing with a bunch of family and getting ready to settle down for the night.

OMG, it has been TWO WEEKS since I have been on the thread! In the 2.5 years I have been here, this is the first and only break I have ever taken. I even post from vacation!

Honestly, I'm not sure why I bolted. I just think I needed a break. Not from all of YOU. But just from constantly thinking about weight loss and exercise and all of it. It is exhausting to be focused on it all the time, kwim?

Of course, I *am* actually busy and away this week-end. Lake house. (For those new, we go away literally every single weekend of the summer, so this is nothing new.) So I won't get caught up now. But on Monday--I'll be back with full force.

But everything here is FINE. I am ON. Doing well. Actually, doing better with food than with exercise, which is opposite for me. But this was the kids first full week off from school, and it always takes a bit to figure out my workout schedule once they are around full time. But I managed 4 workouts per week, so I am at least doing the basics.

Shoulder--torn rotator cuff. More of a PITA than anything else. And it is definitely messing up my routines, so I have to figure out how to work around it. Can't bike (due to position of being bent over on forearms), can't do much with weights. Can't swim. Of course, no issues with lower body. I can squat and lunge. For cardio, ellipitcal and run. But even running is painful on the shoulder. I have always been in the bad habit of running with my upper body tense--so I am hoping that this will break me of that habit.

Might be able to pop in tomorrow, but if not, Monday!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

E, good to see you back.

But just from constantly thinking about weight loss and exercise and all of it. It is exhausting to be focused on it all the time, kwim?
!

HELLO! What have I been squawking for nearly two straight years. :lmao: Not focusing one bit is HIGHLY UNDERRATED people. Not the gospel for you all of course - just highly underrated.

Yes - yes yes -we're all different. I know blah blah blah.

Happy to see you here Erika. Have a wonderful weekend. I always imagine your lake house in a dream like moment when you say you're up there. Seems heavenly to me.

Goals for the week:

And speaking of - we're all different. Look at Kat go with her goals. :thumbsup2 Excellent Kat. Truly. I read all your yummies and salivate. Smiling.

Well they - the nutsos - who aren't REALLY protesters - just angry young men - and a few women -are attacking the city. :sad2:

So many peaceful and important protests and the nut jobs will get all the CNN time. Of course.

So stupid to have it downtown - they orginally planned for both G8 and G20 to be up north. But were fearful to have both there b/c of security. :rolleyes Even our mayor begged them to take it a mile or so out of the core - still downtown but in a better contained area. Nope.

Only one more day and then Lisa will officially shut up. :goodvibes

Just a quick pop in to say GO MEGAN!

I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear all about it! We will need a full race report, of course!

RUN MEG, RUN!

I don't know - I guess I figure that they would be busy with people like you and Erika. I loved that by the way but couldn't paste it. Can you imagine? :lmao: You two would SO be in jail. :goodvibes

Yes. An international scandel. The UN would be involved....it could get a bit sticky  Of course, I'm sure her mom could get us out

Yup... and THEY LIED! They said 8 miles and it was closer to 9. I accidently shut off my Garmin-like app so I am not totally sure.

yikes! Were you regretting dropping to the faster time group?

Well Im just about to have dinner and watch USA V Ghana!

boo. :headache: Ghana totally earned that win. They outplayed the U.S. for the full 120 minutes. England vs. Germany in just a couple hours here.

And I also want to say I appreciate the police greatly. Needed from those who can't protest peacefully. However, apparently if we used the army it would have saved millions and millions. They thought Canadian citizens wouldn't have been okay with the army involved.

I agree. But if the U.S. tried to use military, the Unions would go nutso!

OMG, it has been TWO WEEKS since I have been on the thread! In the 2.5 years I have been here, this is the first and only break I have ever taken. I even post from vacation!

well thank GOD you checked in. I was getting a tad worried about you!

Yes - yes yes -we're all different. I know blah blah blah.

:lmao::lmao: Oh Lisa. :lovestruc

2:40, 2:36. I can't remember now exactly. More details later when I'm not on my phone.

Oh I should have at least said I'm not worried about the time because just finishing a course like that is bragging rights enough. I want to do it again!

WOO HOO! GREAT JOB, MEG!

Can't wait to hear all about it!

And what about the bling?!?!? Remember, it's all about the bling!

E, I agree with Lisa. Lake house sounds like heaven. :cloud9:

And speaking of - we're all different. Look at Kat go with her goals. :thumbsup2 Excellent Kat. Truly. I read all your yummies and salivate. Smiling.

Thanks!!

You know, this really is what works best for me. It's the list-making, control freak, way-too-goal-oriented person diet and exercise program.

yikes! Were you regretting dropping to the faster time group?

You know, that never crossed my mind? What have you people done to me?

I was mostly regretting my poor night's sleep on Wed/Thurs/Fri, not bringing fuel, the weather...

D was out of town Wed/Thurs and I got really crummy sleep (thanks to little cat), and we were all talking after the run and evidently those are the two sleep days that really matter? :confused3

Oh, and thanks to EE, I found a black running skirt at Kohl's for $8 after coupon. Mine is now too big - almost lost it running across the road yesterday. I got 2 - the size that fits now, and the size that will fit in 15-20 lbs. :)

Just popped in to say Congratulations to Megan! I'm heading out for a walk. It is too hot and humid to run.

CONGRATS MEG!!!!!

Honestly, I'm not sure why I bolted. I just think I needed a break. Not from all of YOU. But just from constantly thinking about weight loss and exercise and all of it. It is exhausting to be focused on it all the time, kwim?

Good to see you E! Everyone needs a break now and again!

Goals for the week:
2 short runs - done
2 days x training - done
2 days yoga/pilates - done, actually 3 days
1 long run - done
Tracking and staying under 1200 for 6/7 - done
Water over 64 oz daily - done

You rock Kat! :cool1:

I always imagine your lake house in a dream like moment when you say you're up there. Seems heavenly to me.

E's Lakehouse is my happy place :rotfl2:

boo. :headache: Ghana totally earned that win. They outplayed the U.S. for the full 120 minutes. England vs. Germany in just a couple hours here.

Ghana were very good but hey, at least you made it to extra time - not like the horrific spanking we just suffered! :sad2:

2:40, 2:36. I can't remember now exactly. More details later when I'm not on my phone.

:thumbsup2 Awesome Meg! Can't wait to hear more!

Well, I hope everyone is having a better Sunday than me! Stupid football :rotfl2:
Well, at least the weather is glorious here again - dare I say it feels like Summer?

Megan!!! Fantastique! So pleased for you.

I love me a race - not my own :lmao: - but love me a race. Can't wait to hear!
