In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Hey Dan!

No worries - we all have those times of reading and not replying. I always forget to reply to someone, but I'm always reading and caring. :goodvibes

Guys totally have TOM. I read somewhere that men's hormones fluctuate as much as women's in any given month. 1.2 is nothing for a guy - I bet you lose it in two days!

Ok so your cakes inspired me to try this and so here is what I was working on this morning. What do you think?

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Your cakes are great !! Mine would not be even close to as good as you ladies have done.

DWD don't be hard on yourself. I loved the cake and I am sure she did too.:thumbsup2

So as far as weight.....

I gained 1.2 pounds over last week.

Dear Dizneydawn,

QOTD: Can a guy have a TOM????

If not, what do I use as a reason for these sudden weight gains?

It can't possibly be the little debbies that I OD on could it :rolleyes1

Confused in the cities

Dear Confused,
When you resort to Little Debbie Nutty Bar's....how does it make you feel...after you come down off the sugar high that 3 twin packs can do to you...or wake up...do you really want to live with the guilt of your aimless binge?

You need to look deeper into what is driving that..EAT...EAT..EAT...urge...you are not Santa Claus getting ready for the big night out...you are not going into hibernation...you are a man in need of some new lovin and maybe your partner can get you committed to that. Like with every 5 pounds lost you try something new in the boudoir...or maybe only eat the foods you can eat off the other person...I am sure your partner would not want crumbs in the most sensitiive of crevices so a nice peach or pear would ensure good choices and gentle cleaning...;)

Confused...you are not alone...although embarassing...your over eating desire stifles the real desires you have....start doing push-ups each time you want a cookie...sit-ups each time you want a pop...and soon enough your body will crave excersize...not Little Debbies and you will have the physique to be a movie star.....movie star on the B list...but I can only give advice..I am not a miracle worker...:lmao:

Okay...for those out of the loop...I came to Dan's apartment the other day..and he was asleep on the couch..a yellow box of nutter bars opened and wrappers scattered everywhere around him. He was wrapped in an old afghan and looked like he just went into a fat camp coma...It was so cute...seriously..laughed at him...because I have been there...just never goten caught...:rolleyes1

AH, blessedly, there are not pages and pages!

I will admit, I actually didn't weigh in yesterday since I woke up too late to do so. I am -1.2 this morning so I will use that one if that's okay? Dawn, that would put me at 172.

I am not feeling too terribly well today... I ate out yesterday for lunch and am wondering if something in there was a bit off.

Dawn/Dan, y'all are too cute. And I definitely have been in the fat camp coma before!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ah, fat camp coma...I know it well! ;)

Phew! What a day! DH is back at the bathroom remodel, so my house is torn apart yet again. I had to play mom taxi all morning...DD 7 had her first piano recital today! Very cute. Then off to the gym for an excellent work-out. Really felt great afterwards.

So, then I had been home for maybe 5 minutes, when the kids come in the house screaming and hysterical. DD 5 ran over the dog with her scooter. (The dog is a toy breed and all of about 9 pounds.) I check the dog, see what is clearly her leg BONE and call the vet. Closed at 2pm. (only 15 minutes before, of course). The service says that the vet use in case of emergency is the one that is like 45 minutes away. Tried the vet in the next town over (that would be Wells, SG) and just 5 minutes from my house. They are also closed but have emergency hours, so they tell me to bring her right in. Meanwhile, the kids have been holding the dog the whole time, trying to take care of her and keep her calm...and end up with dog blood all over their shirts, etc. More freaking out. Finally get to the vet...where she still is...and it looks like she will be fine. She has MAJOR road rash and will need stitches in a few areas, but nothing is broken and no internal injuries. *sigh* And now I am exhausted.

On the bright side...it is 4pm, which is cocktail hour in this house...and I have only had about 400 calories so far today....

Hope everyone is enjoying this spring day!

Bride- :grouphug: take Erika and Dawn up on the offer to help find an airline. Drive to an airport and then fly or fly to an airport and then drive. You two could use the time alone traveling to talk about the wedding, his family, memories of his Grandpa, how much you love each other. Take care of you. Think about how great you are going to feel at your wedding.

Sarah-:grouphug: Way to take care of you.

Food=Fuel, Food=Medicine, Food=Fun. It is that last one that gets us, or comfort. I like to see the cake and remember empty calorie, sugar poison, heavenly desserts are for special occasions and to have just a little bit.

Define special occasion- kiddos birthday, living sees choc. lava cake, you decide

Don't eat something just because it is brown.

Dark choc. is good for us-have a square or two. I think you all know I like the Hershey one with blueberries and almonds.

If my husband says have a peach when I want choc. WATCH OUT. on the same note we were at a movie and he hands me one itty bitty dark choc. hershey egg, I go into deprivation mode and want more. It works better for me to set my limit and start out with four and thats it. I need to be in control of what I am trying to limit and enjoy.

Enjoy the weekend. The sun is out, warmer than it has been since October. We are playing Lilo and Stitch. I'm so sorry Dawn that you are waiting for spring. I like your moving van ready for graduation. :lmao:

:flower3:

Yikes Erika, you deserve a drink. Good Job on your workout. Hope all is well with your pup.

YIKES! And to think - I was all whiney about MY day...which included DS17 and I getting stranded due to my van breaking down 45 minutes from home! Never have I had any *issues* before - never a flat tire, never ran out of gas, never had a vehicle just QUIT for no apparent reason :confused3 Thankfully AAA was wonderful - towed us back home....DH met us at the garage....so we are currently a 3 driver family...with one vehicle - our gas-hog TRUCK! Oh well...coulda been worse...coulda seen a DOG BONE! :crazy2:

And while it's not quite cocktail hour for me...we are having dinner with a bunch of friends tonight. :rolleyes1 There goes my calorie budget... oh - but DS will have to come pick us up tonight because he'll have the one functioning mode of transportation! :drive: (unless we drive the tractor...nothing says redneck like going to dinner on the ole John Deere :rotfl2: ) HEY - I just realized - DS will be the designated driver!

Hi Guys - sorry i've been lurky mclurkster again :headache:
Bruces grandfather had been doing terribly the past few weeks, at home in hospice. He lost his fight this morning.... :sad1:

BrcsDisneyPrncs, sorry about your loss. Hope you found a way home, if that's what you wanted.

Things are calm here today. Case worker from hospice came and saw my dad. He is mainly just staying in bed. Ate a couple bites of oatmeal and jello and is drinking more so thats good... DH is at work and will be home at 11... He is bringing me in a job app for his company, so we will see what that holds... Frankly I don't care as long as I am on the same shift as him. I did really well with weight this week. I lost 3.8 lbs this week! I've also already hit my monthly goal of 7 lbs! I've lost 7.8 lbs this month. At least there is a silver lining on my cloud. Now I just need to keep it off for the month and anything I lose is just extra to my goal. My DH has noticed I've been in better spirits since I've been home from work. I think a lot has to do with him being on the night shift. I love having even just a couple hours with him before he goes to work and I like sleeping at the same time as him. I hope everyone had a good week! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Thank you again for all the good wishes.

Sarah

Congrats on staying on track. Thats one less worry right now. Thinking of you.

Sounds like sexersize to me. Dawn, you're a cruel taskmaster.

I am not feeling too terribly well today... I ate out yesterday for lunch and am wondering if something in there was a bit off.

Well, maybe you'll get food poisoning. That'll be good for a couple pounds.

Fat Camp Coma - this is me every other day.:rolleyes1

:scared1: Erica!!!!! Oh the Drama. Poor little pooch. Post a picture for us.

Don't eat something just because it is brown

Got it. Don't eat it just because it's brown.

Don't eat it just because it's brown.

My day has been calm. Just fighting this horrendous cold. I have been sleeping on the couch every night because my hacking gets so bad and keeps hubby awake. Finally, at some point, usually 5am, I wake up and realize I haven't coughed for a while and actually got some sleep. SO, then I head to bed.

We were working on the hog pen today. Lifting up metal sheeting into the roof of the pen and snapping it into place. It was chilly and pretty windy. (My face is wind burnt.) I would hold one end, up on a ladder, dd12 holding up middle, on a ladder and dh other end placing and screwing metal. My fingers in the air would get so tired. And at some point they started tingling. I suppose from draining all the blood, putting my arms down and it coming back. Putting them up again. What I am trying to get at, is 7 hours later, my fingers are still tingeling. Is that weird or normal? Opinions anyone?

I'd like one more opinion if anyone wants to weight in on this. My dd12 is going to get a tetnus shot before 6th grade conservation camp in a couple weeks. I think I'll get the HPV vaccation for her then also. Dawn, did you do this for Carsyn? Anyone have anything to add?

Later

Hello, friends!

Dan and Dawn, you two are too funny. Dan, yes, I feel like a different person...like the person I was before, like the one I should have been the last four years. I am so proud of what I have done to be true to that woman. Not just weight loss. Now I need to get back to my faith - it was a big part of my life and in the last year I have not gotten down on my knees to thank God. I need to do that.

Erika, update on the pooch? I was all Oh! No! when I read that. Poor baby.

Kat, are you feeling better?

Liz, I think the tingling is weird. But every time I move my body I feel it so maybe lazybones isn't the one to ask. ;)

I went to the gym today, first time. Took a class. Loved it. I wish I could have spent another hour there! Off to do some shopping with my mom and have dinner with my parents (and Nick and Emily, course).

I'll catch up with you all later tonight!

Hi all! Quick post for me as I am not online much on the week-ends.

The dog is fine, thanks. 30 stitches and $300, but all is well. She is really perky today, which is nice to see. I thought it would take a few days before she was acting normal. I'll get a pic of her posted soon.

DWD--yes, get her the HPV vaccine. You don't have to tell her that is what she is getting, but yeah, I think all girls should get it. I will need to pics of the hogs when they come on. SO far removed from my life! Nancy has a bunch of livestock running around as well. Me? My fish are swimming in green water. My plants are...well...gone. Just too much. :rotfl: I should not be trusted with living things other than my own children.

Nancy--sorry about getting stranded! How long will you be without your car? UGH! I hate it when I have to drive the truck! Hope it is a quick and easy fix.

Dawn--this is way late, but what did you decide about Treynor and the new vehicle? When I read that post (geebus, it was a couple of weeks ago now...sorry!), my thought was...why in Hell are you getting the boy another vehicle when the reason you need to replace the last one is because he drove it into the lake????

My kids are still little, but I am thinking that we will have the rule that if you want to see if the car can swim, you don't drive. :rotfl2: (I am sure it was an accident, of course, but my point is...there still needs to be a consequence. Either he goes without or buys a new one himself. DH and I each had to buy our own first cars at that age. I know, I know...I am going to be one of THOSE parents..."When I was your age, we had to walk to school...in the snow...uphill...both ways!" :lmao: )

Hope everyone is having a relaxing week-end! Think thin thoughts! Spring is here...time to find your inner skinny! I am de-cluttering my house over the the next few weeks and I am getting rid of my "body clutter" as well! :lmao:

HK & SGLiz--it was fun watching the pageant with you guys the other night! :goodvibes

Criminy! Where is everyone? Did you all spend the day cuddled up with family? Need more posts.

Septgirl, you so rock. I'm glad you're feeling like a new you. That makes anything possible, doesn't it!?!?!?!?!?!

Dawn, I must have missed the whole car in water story. Sounds interesting.

3DK, I find your approach to your children's vechicles (or lack thereof) very refreshing. I agree about kiddos acquiring their own kah. I think you take better care of and appreciate something you have to work for much more than being entitled to one just because you are 16. (That's easy for me to say now, considering that I don't have to think about the whole situation for a couple more years.;) )

Gosh, if I only felt that way about being entitled to brown stuff (chbc) just because it's sitting there looking yummy.

DWD- Hey, just now got a chance to post and it was easy to catch up today. Brown stuff- Jots (how cheep were those candy blich tasting stuff), enough to cure you from eating trail mix. TG costco had m&m's in kirkland mix, or palmer choc. at easter-wax, icky brown wax. overcooked hard brownies-yuck, passi t up., school lunch choc. anything-has some puree added, prune puree. So, school lunch brown-don't eat it.
I need Larry's Girl-all these documents for the attorney. The superintendent is supposedly investigating, but he is playing the uniserv. So, I am dealing with Jafar basically. I have high cholesterol. You all know I have oatmeal most days and cheerios the other for breakfast. I snack on Kalamata olives, 5 or so. You soup and salads are all good. I did hit the hard cooked eggs for salads and alone after Easter. Oh, I don't know. It is probably hereditiary. I'll hit low fat low cholesterol heavy for three months and see. I have had high cholesterol before, but it was the good high. It was 80 here yesterday and today it is 50 degrees. I want my Orlando back. relax and get ready for the week.

:flower3:

Hi...I need some opinions and fast...

We are not looking so good on the taxes...will probably break even and last year was over $6000 in refund so I am freaking out...not that much in major differences...

But this year I was using Turbo Tax...used Tax Cut last year...and I just sent a question to their help place..asking if they could diorect me to where I enter school expenses for the kids...(I have over $1000) and they areexplaining they do not have that in their programming...

So should I try a different program...what else am I not entering because of no prompts....UGH!!!

Sorry for the fly by...but I am not sure what to do...Dan is perplexed as well...and I can't reach him...:scared1:

Okay....the car Treyner was driving into the puddle that turned out to be waist high...was a car on it's last dying breath...literally the mechanic we saw..refused to take it under his wing and said we got swindled for ever buying it an putting dollar one into it after...Bought for $1500 Nov 06 for me as a beater...died 5 days later...(I will never buy a car again w/ out a thorough diagnostic..but was w/ no wheels and stupid and desperate at the time...)...we were going to junk it...then...Chad decided he thought it was worth fixing...I disagreed...but in the summer of 07...he put another $1500 into it..out of spite I believe and he was not smart enough o get in writing the total and had a "friend" fix it.

Isn't it nice that that friend could not have been as honest as the stranger who said that Dodge Intrepid's are pieces of garbage and they are notorious for fuel pumps etc...

So that being said...Treyner could only drive the car in town...and not over 45 miles an hour...so we needed a different car for him to begin with..

I am a huge one on consequences as well...and because of that...Treyner will be paying $900 to Chad for the Intrepid..(which is the cost for Chad's 1979 Camaro body that he traded Aaron for instead of cash for his labor in "fixing" the Intrepid. My reason..it was not his to destroy and although he did not choose the waste of money..it was a spare to have at the house in case of an in town emergency..and his dad meant well and gave up something he cared about trying to do something good for Treyner.

I am planning on a different car for myself hopefully (depending on taxes) and using the car I have with low miles..for al three kids while in HS and when they leave for college..the money they save..can go to a car for themselves... They will not be taking the "Kid" car with them as the next in line will need a set of wheels.

Treyner plays soccer 45 minutes away..and it is impossible to have hip at soccer 4-6 days a week w/ no vehicle..I work nights..plus the other 2 have sports also...

Soccer and school are his priority right now..he also works on the weekends washing out semi's for $10 an hour..but with a full ride on the line..it is hard to push him taking on another job...he can't lose hours for schoolwork and his sports have $25,000 a year on the line...:thumbsup2

Sooo...the answer is...no..no car solution yet....and yes..he is not liking his mistake..innocent enough...but dumb dumb dumb...and I still love him..even when he is amazed I have a life and need the car on a weeknight/weekend!!!!:lmao: He is not liking not having the beater to beat around...but he has never complained yet about not getting to borrow a car...just looks frusterated...losing independence isn't so fun at 17...but he'll learn to be a heck of a man because of this..

He actually wants a moped...great gas mileage..I night take him up on that but since we have had snow since Oct and just finished yesyterday...when could he realistically use it!!

Hi all...

My dad died about an hour and a half ago. While its very sad my family and I are all relieved that he is no longer in pain and he died peacefully in his sleep. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers this week. They have been a great comfort to me.

Sarah

DWD--yes, get her the HPV vaccine. You don't have to tell her that is what she is getting, but yeah, I think all girls should get it.

Yes, yes yes. ::yes:: I've talked with both my peditrician and my own ob/gyn and both have without hesitation said my DD12 should get this vaccination at her next physical. Typically neither my ped. nor I are in favor of rushing into relatively "untested" vaccines, but this one is a must-have for us. ::yes::

Nancy has a bunch of livestock running around as well. Me? My fish are swimming in green water.

and more babies set to arrive either tonight or tomorrow morning..pre-labor has begun...JUST THANK GOD IT'S NOT ME!!! :rolleyes1

Nancy--sorry about getting stranded! How long will you be without your car? UGH! I hate it when I have to drive the truck! Hope it is a quick and easy fix.

Thanks. me too! :goodvibes My SIL called today to offer me their "extra" car (DD & DS both set to get their licenses late this summer - got a great car that fell into their laps....might have to take them up on it!)

We are much in the same boat - having a 3rd vehicle for DS17 (almost...) would make life so much easier for us....but....we told him we aren't going to actively look for another car until he's had his license for 6 months (yeah - that's the end of this month! ) but if the right thing comes along before that, we'll know it! I'm not a believer in buying kids new cars....there is just waaaaayyyyy less testosterone involved when you are driving mom's mini-van  Besides, I firmly believe that his having a licnese is a privilege, not a right...

ahh...said DS has just summoned me....FAMILY GUY is on!! :woohoo: (I think that speaks volumes about our character.... :rolleyes1 )

Sarah...I'm sorry for your loss. Yes - I do believe that your dad is now at peace, and in a much better place. :grouphug: My prayers are with you all at this time...
